Hi Dad! Awesome video! I just ordered a c930 for streaming. I had a c920 that lasted me 10 years before its bird quit. I was starting to have doubt about the quality after seeing the c922 was an option, but after seeing your comparison I feel pretty confident that I'll like the c930 for the wider fov. And a special thanks for showing us how you configure settings to improve the quality *even more!* It's such a dramatic difference from just tweaking things like you did. That's SO super helpful. It's a question I've always had and I'm definitely using this as a resource when my cam arrives! :D

Thanks for this, I know its way after you made this but still helps! I have a C920e delivering Tuesday with a basic condenser mic and pop filter for work and out of office doctor visits. P.S. Thanks for mentioning the MICs are not good as well, that helped. I will watch some newer videos of yours too and Sub, but I was in a hurry and in all honesty these, even though they're technically 'older' are perfect for my needs!

Wow thanks so much for this video - everyone is hyping up the brio - no one is really looking into the other options and after watching this video i think i like the look and feel of the 930 model way more (also the price is more reasonable). Also thanks so much for explaining those settings in OBS!!! Never really used them.

Everyone who buy cheap knows nothing work right out of the box but they could, if you fine tune some of the defect via software.

Got my c922 today, I didn't expect much from a webcam and the moment I hook it up with my computer, it blew my mind. The picture quality is great, at 1080p @30fps. Do not listen to the people who say it's a bad camera, I think their rooms don't have enough lighting, remember this, the better your lighting the better the picture will come out, better lighting will also affect the frames per second you get, if your room lacks lighting, frequent frame drops and grainy picture quality will be an issue, my room is well lit, my walls are white, so the quality and consistency in fps I got was amazing, the 720p @60fps felt buttery smooth, I won't suggest anyone to use the 60fps settings unless they are gamers and want to stream, 720p is a drastic degrade in video quality in this case, which I did not like, but 1080p was so crisp it that you will fall absolutely in love with it. This is the best purchase I've made so far. Go for it, I hope this helps.

Great and useful video. I just dug out my old 910 and just bought the 920. My mate reckons the 910 has much better detail compared to the 920 and that the 920 looks like it has some softening effect going on with the skin. I will check out your settings.
Also have Logitech ditched the Carl Zeiss branding? The new versions have Logi instead of Logitech and are missing the branding. Are they still Carl Zeiss lens?

Be careful Jeff, right now almost all webcams are triple (or more) the price from what they usually are. I suggest looking on eBay

Check the latest videos for some better quality/info. The C930 isn’t supported in GHub. No idea why, it’s their best camera. I gave up on Logitech a while ago

Odin, I was trying to make the video fast and to the point. I went a bit overboard with the cuts. My newer video is an improvement.

hey dad, great video :D if I could give some constructive criticism, I'd suggest easing up on the quick cuts in between your pauses, feels like we're losing a bunch of the words themselves in the cuts. Keep up the great work!

Would you happen to know if you can use any adobe apps to adjust the colors or run it through premiere or something like that? I mean, instead of using the software that comes with the camera? I don't know what I'm talking about so if that's a dumb question, just ignore me. I'm coming from a commercial post-production world and know nothing about streaming and I don't know what twitch is for. And also, I subscribed and liked because you didn't have too many subscribers and I wanted to support your efforts because I'm a MOM! That is all. Thank you and I look forward to more videos.
If you’re not live, you can certainly use Premiere and/or After Effects to change lighting and coloring

Thanks for the video. I teach and perform dance, and in COVID am trying to make the most out of teeny home studio. I've been working with the 922 which is great for when I'm delivering a lecture portion or technique detail, but Ive been thinking about something wider angle for full body/traveling steps and performances so I don't have position myself and camera on the room's diagonal...yet still needed good image quality, something that works with our bandwidth considerations. Between this video and research on different cameras/specs, I was convinced to order a 930e. Thanks too for the tips on the settings. :D

Another option could be if you have a high quality Sony or Cannon camera.
Bought the C922 today! It's already amazing out of the box 📦. Just need to adjust it a bit it was a bundle with the Yeti microphones 🎤. Let's go

For streaming, I use OBS Studio but it depends on what you mean by “broadcast”

was hoping for more technical comparison and explanation. To start, 930 is listed on their website under Video Conferencing, while the other 2 are listed under Webcam. why is that?
Probably because of the wide field of view that I mentioned. Since it has a wider angle it can show more people in a room. Lots of webcams out there say “video conferencing” for better SEO (Search Engine Optimization) but there’s nothing special about it. Look at my more recent video about the $34 webcam and save yourself some money

DyrghaVlog Right now there’s some gross price gouging on webcams because of the virus spreading. I suggest finding one used. If you need a wide field trip of view then get the C930. If you don’t, then try to find a C922

I donwloaded streamlabs and the layout is completely different. Is there a way to get to the video corrections like you have in the video?
I now use OBS Studio which I recommend if you’re streaming or want to have custom Zoom calls.
After you add the camera to your source right click on the camera name and then you can add the filters needed

Are you using OBS software? If so, you can right click on the source and go to Properties then Configure Video
Is it possible to have 2 people be in the same frame when doing the green screen feature ? Like say you were doing a Gameplay reaction kinda video and wanted to have you and a another person in the picture 🤔

No I meant like sitting beside me.
Yes. You only need a big enough green screen and a wide enough field of view on the camera. I have an elgato green screen but I also use a green cloth tightly pinned to the door behind me so combined it's a very wide screen. If you have enough room, you can move the camera farther away to capture both in frame. Sometimes on Sundays I get my wife to play UNO with us on stream and we both fit in .... barely, it's a small space.
I should mention, another option is to use a second camera

I know, it sucks. This was made before the pandemic and since then the prices have tripled. Check my other video about the cheap alternative to a Logitech. Right now I think that’s priced around $60
thanks for the vid! i've gotta ask about your audio signal chain here... some kinda gate i'm guessing with a slow attack, because every time you begin a new phrase or word, it sounds like the volume is ramping up slowly, almost as if you're talking in that way, but i'm pretty sure it's the gate settings on your processing chain.. just kinda curious.. a little distracting but interesting nonetheless. cheers
Chris, appreciate the response. I went overboard with the cuts and combined with my audio software trying to remove the sound of my PC fans you can hear the issue. My setup is for streaming so I’m trying to improve my UA-cam video quality
akaDad try the Waves NS1 noise reduction plugin... $49. What mic you using?
Chris, I use Adobe Audition with my Blue Yeti. It does a great job reducing noise.
akaDad oh yikes there’s your problem, blue yeti, ok for streaming but from a pro audio perspective it’s a no go... I’ve had one, I so voiceover work in my treated room in my apt... a mic like yours excels at picking up sounds and noise from every angle.. if better audio is a real goal I’d recommend the industry standard I’m sure you’ve seen everywhere... shure sm7b. It’s a dynamic not a condenser mic, you’ll have a way way cleaner voice and way way less noise. Best of luck!
It does pick up a lot. I’m working on my setup to reduce noise and keep improving the audio without needing to spend a lot

How did you access the two settings panels when adjusting the C930 settings? What are they called please? Thanks
My review is using these cameras for streaming. You can adjust lighting, colors, sharpness, etc from within OBS.

What was the software used to evaluate/modify the c930
It’s the software that comes with the camera. Logitech’s have a long going issue of forgetting settings when you shut down your computer. If you can get it looking the way you want with OBS filter then you’re better off
Trying to decide. Using it for personal use not large conference calls so the super wide FOV is a turn off. Can you zoom in without losing quality? Look forward to seeing more vids, gonna sub now and keep up with you 😇
KGS, really appreciate the comment and sub. Zooming in on a 1080p camera isn’t a great idea. It’s a digital zoom so any at all will cause it to lose quality. I suggest moving the camera closer.
If it’s a 1080p camera and you really only need 720p quality then go ahead and zoom in a bit.
If it’s a 4K camera and you only need 1080p quality then you can zoom in without a notice in quality change.
akaDad I really need full HD so 1080 is the ABSOLUTE lowest I could go cause I am using it to make video presentations for UA-cam. I’ll just have to move closer to the camera I guess.

I legitimately loved this video and you did a good job. However, as several others have mentioned, too many jump cuts and not cut correctly. I recommend doing them every sentence or two at most. Remember the 6-8 second rule of attention span. Obviously don’t do it exactly, but just take that number into consideration. You look serious about all of this, and I wish you the best for your UA-cam career! I’m sorry if I don’t respond, because UA-cam notifications are bugged for me rn, but I’ll try to if needed.

Since I made this video Logitech created software to handle hardware settings. Google “Logitech G Hub” and try that
Can I use streamlabs and G Hub settings to my webcam for using it on sessions with zoom.us? How to do it? Like you showed it? Set it up like you did and it looks better in the zoom meetings? Thanks in advance
Not Streamlabs but OBS Studio. There is now a button to Start Virtual Camera. Then in Zoom you use the OBS Camera. Then you use/control OBS Studio to make changes to your Zoom. Very simple solution that gives you almost unlimited options for your Zoom.

Really useful video, thanks. Just gotta work on that noise gate on your voice, it's cutting you off a bit. Maybe you're using noise reduction too? It's making the audio a bit bubbly too.

If you have a Logitech there’s the G Hub. If you have something else, you can do it directly in OBS by adding filters to the source.
If you don’t have a good webcam yet, I would recommend the Nexigo N660 because they have their own software. Watch my more recent videos for more info
