Yo if you have ableton you can literally just record your voice to audio and then convert that audio to midi. This VST does the same thing but without the extra step and it’s less accurate when it comes to quantizing. Just a shiny toy VST

sounds like extra steps to avoid using this plug-in...not to mention, you can't hear the performance of the sound you are using with your method. so you're putting yourself in a box performance wise.

for $200+ dollars depending on the package, you'd be better off with a MIDI controller and a plugin like Serum. Keeping your voice in key is so hard and you'll spend more time editing your notes than anything. This video proves the point. Even if you dont know the notes on the keyboard, you can place a sticker grid on your keys with notes.

Would you mind expanding on your serum idea? Do you mean as far as creating melodies with your voice? or recording melodies on a controller with serum, and why serum specifically? I ask because I've been looking into getting serum and not really sure of all the capabilities it has, cheers

@@anthonyjohnson8203 Creating melodies and patterns with a MIDI controller like Keystep Pro with Serum as my virtual instrument. Serum is super configurable and there are thousands of templates out in the wild developed for it. Its my main VST choice. I have played with Dubler since I posted and Support has reached out to me as well to see if they can help but even having tuned my mic and the software, I can lay down the melody with Dubler, but there are so many "mistakes" made depending on my pitch that I spend WAY too much time fixing the notes. I could spend way less time using a VST and make the melody in my head already

@djscottyb_texas Got it, thanks for the reply, and most of all the video! Been on the fence of getting serum for awhile now but this is definitely convincing me to move forward with getting it

Had Dubler a year now. I can confirm it is a liberating tool for composing the melody line in your head straight into your DAW. Also the software UI also helps you train your voice to a music scale or understand the natural key in your singing voice. I found I could put real expression into my composition with timbre and note length control by my voice where my keyboard skills never existed. Worth the investment 100%

worst experience ever. i bought one of it and setting it up has been really dramatic, for over two months now haven't been able to set it up. the worst part of it is that the voice recording is really terrible because you just cant record anything or try to play it back if you successfully record one. it froze and sometime it does not recognise any input most of the time.

It’s not as good as y’all think it is, it’s a toy , this isn’t going to replace a real instrument, I’ve had it for a couple of years and it’s just collecting dust

they GUY can't even beatbox ON TIME for the DEMO (extreme quantization needed) 😆😆😆 . . . let alone giving it Tonal and melodic audio input 🤥🤥 But we shall see what it is really capable of.

I just got this as a Christmas gift. I love to sing. I do admit I am out of practice and wondered if that is part of the problem. It seems you have to have perfect pitch to make it work right. (and even then I don't know) You can't start any note flat or sharp at all. You have to hit the note on the head each and every note. My boyfriend asked me to try singing into it songs I've sung and it didn't pick it up right. So then I tried what I thought would be simple and couldn't even reproduce a simple melody without extra unwanted notes. I worked with it for awhile for a couple days and was thinking maybe it is a gimmick. The idea is nice but I don't think it should be this difficult to make it work. I am thinking mine is likely to end up collecting dust as well. I think it much easier to use a keyboard to enter in the sounds. I also wonder if it would affect a persons singing ability in a positive or negative way trying to sing into the mic so the computer picks up the right information. I don't know what to think so far but I am leaning toward its a gimmick.

If the drum beat was actually on time, it would help everything else. It’s so hard to listen them go on with this foundation off. The kick snare don’t match those pre laid high hats at all. Ugh.

Unless you have pitch perfect vocals and you can sing I wouldn't bother wasting money,
