Happy Birthday, Jocelyn! Mistakes happen, no big deal! Everything is replaceable! No injuries, live n learn! Yup, I have a lifted truck, so I have to be careful! Pound the metal down and silicone it well so it won't leak, maybe some rubber washers also!
Don't sweat it Taku, everyone makes mistakes the important thing is to learn from them, it gives you experience. I was a truck driver for over 27 years and you would be surprised how many people forget the height of their vehicle that is not your case, you din't see the sign. People see the warning signs and still run in to bridges and low clearance structures. Like Joselin said, it could have been worse so look at the positive side of it. Blessings to the both of you and keep doing what you do.
🌟🎂Happy Birthday Taklyn !!! Jocelyn , so nice to see you in front of camera loved this idea . Taku, chalk this up to initiation in to Van Life.... Welcome ! Love U Guys !!💕🚐🌸👍
I like that y'all show the mistakes you made in order to help other people. Also, the way you guys just solve your problems so fluidly together is beautiful. I am really enjoying the van build content!
Hang in there Taku. We all make mistakes. Glad you were able to fix it up. I remember once on a long road trip I had bike on top of my car and I pulled into a parking garage and nearly ripped them both off the roof. Stuff happens, it’s all about your attitude. You have skills, fixed it no problem. Keep up the good work.
You're good Taku. That's a honest mistake, way to be positive about it and learn from it. I'm stoked to see how the van turns out. It's gonna take you and Joslyn to some pretty amazing places!
Sorry to hear and to see that you damaged your new roof rack but good thing you were able to repair it ! It could have been a lot worse a lot worse ! Thanks for posting which will remind everyone else that might do the same thing !
Lesson learn and it happen while your building it and it only did a minimal damage, keep it up and there is always a purpose for everything be positive and thank you for the videos and keep on coming.
Oh another tip i have kayak racks on my truck so i just used my label maker and put the safe clearance sticker right there on my console helps you never forget!!
First off I just want to say hi guys! Shit happens to the best of us and WE ALL make mistakes. Its the ones that learn from our mistakes that make us better. Nobody got hurt and seems like it was an easy fix so that's what matters. Keep up the great work you two! Oh and happy birthday both of you! Enjoy life and drink some amazing beer along the way 👍🏽
You two are some of my favorite people in the world. I hope someday I can just bless you with a hug and some warm food, because you've brought me so much greatness. Sending love and energy💜
Bed fillet ftw! 🙌 Glad the damage wasn't too bad and you were able to fix it quickly. Also probably better to get that out of the way early while still building the van, get up some of those van life parking lot reflexes up to where it is less likely and hopefully won't happen in the future.
Don't beat yourselves up about the roof rack. There are worse things, but I know it was still scary and disheartening when it happened. At least it was a relatively easy fix. Thanks for the update. Love seeing the two of you working together. Keep on trucking! ......vanning!
its ok making a mistake is normal but you need to learned for it.. some say making mistake early its gonna be perfect in the long run. Happy birthday Jocelyn!
I think its actually pretty normal to make these kind of mistakes. Good for you to share these mistakes with us. Keep up the good work. Van looks awesome can't wait to see it finished 🤘🤘
Happy B-Day Jaklyn! Taku - mistakes happen and it sucks it happened but you'll bounce back! You and Jaklyn have done a great job to date and looking forward to more videos.
Happy birthday Jocelyn, enjoyed you “took the reigns” on this one. Taku man, don’t sweat it, we all make mistakes. As you said though, you can only be more cautious in the future.
Overall, it looked like a relatively minor repairs, as repairs go. I'm glad the force of striking to barrier didn't damage the metal roof of the van. Take care, and thanks for another update video.
Done that with a rented camper van ..thought I fit under the bar to the parking..nope..sheared off entire roof vent..never went back lol HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jocelyn❤️🤘🏻🎉
Of course it's aggravating to make mistakes on a project, but my motto is "Any job worth doing is worth doing twice, occasionally three times." I just finished re-assembling the carburetor on my outboard for the third time after using the wrong sealant once and leaving a little spring out once. It looks like you are building a really sweet van.
It’s so frustrating sometimes when you do something like that!!! I get it completely. At least the solar panels were not on there! I know you both must be busy with building a van and running two channels. See you in the next video 😄👍
Happy Birthday- here’s a Huge repair Bill. Everyone has setback and we all learn from our mistakes. It takes a big man to admit his mistakes when you could have fixed it without us knowing. I’m more of a fan now.
If you can get under the lifted up part from underneath (inside the van) you can get a body dolly at Harbor Freight and a body hammer and you should be able to knock it down without messing the paint up too bad. Lesson learned, good luck bro!!!
It's only failure if you do it again. Otherwise the value you've gained from the experience far surpasses the cost of repair. Not to mention the people who have watched this and will learn from the situation as well. As always, thanks for taking us on this adventure with you!
As the Japanese would say, “shougani.” It is what it is. It sounds like it could’ve been a lot worse and I’m glad you guys were able to fix it with no huge issue. Happy birthday!
Watch for leaks because of the uneven metal they have foam stripping with glue that can be used kind of like a sealing washer or possible caulking might be a good choice but as you drive the metal on the van will weaken and stretch over time keep an eye on it !
I set an antenna on my van to the clearance height . That way if antenna doesn't clear then all I have put under the low underpass is the front hood. I am able to back out.
Missed you guys yesterday. Hey man, don't be so hard on yourself. It could have been soooo much worse. Dodged a bullet here and a great lesson learned. And teamwork in unfamiliar conditions is key, hint hint Joc. . . lol. Love you guys and both the channels. I am so excited for you guys to continue your journey of living your best life on the road!
Dude...you're human. It wouldn't be a project without hiccups. You guys are doing such a great job on it. Please keep the videos coming.
Well said Matt!
Thanks!
“I’m just gonna fillet this bed here…”. 🤣🤣
WTF
HAHAH IM DYING
....skill transference but notice no food porn noises!
HAHAHA i paused video to come down here and make this comment but I see it was picked up on LMFAO
Happy Birthday, Jocelyn! Mistakes happen, no big deal! Everything is replaceable! No injuries, live n learn! Yup, I have a lifted truck, so I have to be careful! Pound the metal down and silicone it well so it won't leak, maybe some rubber washers also!
Thankfully it didn't damage the van much. Great job bouncing back!!!
Hope all is back on track in no time. Hope you have a great week and Happy Birthday Jocelynn!

Happy Birthday Jocelyn! Best wishes to you! Hope y'all had a great weekend celebrating 😊🎂
The best thing about mistakes is you learn from it and probably won’t happen again and that your human. Love your videos bro keep up the great work.
I love both of your channels, and everyone makes mistakes, all part of life.
So sorry guys I want you to know I enjoy both channels and I can't wait to see them come together
OMG it's just a minor setback. Happy belated birthday, Jocelyn and Happy future birthday, Taku
Good to know that even though you made a mistake, nobody was hurt and the damage was low.
Happy Birthday Jocelyn, and Taku!!
Don't be discouraged. Mistakes happen and you just gotta get back on the bandwagon. You're human man. Can't wait to see more. 👍
There will be many other things that go wrong. You guys remedied this as a team. I look up to you guys on. Great job! Happy birthday Jocyln!
Happy Birthday to both of you! Glad the damage to the van wasn't bad.

My dad always said learn from other peoples mistakes, thank you for your honesty :)
All good man, no one was hurt and most importantly you won't be repeating that mistake !

Great recovery. All's well now. Look forward to all the great things you are going to do with this project. Avanti.
Happy birthday Jocelyn!! 🎉🎉

Looks like you got off easy Taku....!!! "Carry on"... Great video.
You win! Way to blow your lack of experience on a roof rack! You're both healthy! 4 arms 4 legs left. Keep on keeping on!
Damn....sorry that happened bro. Lesson learned. Keep ya heads up! Keep the van build videos coming...
Don't beat yourselves up about the roof rack. There are worse things, but I know it was still scary and disheartening when it happened. At least it was a relatively easy fix.
Thanks for the update. Love seeing the two of you working together. Keep on trucking!
......vanning!
I really like hearing your narration on videos! It completes and complements Taku’s hosting
Happy Birthday Jocelyn 👊🏼😎🎂

Happy B-Day Jaklyn!
Taku - mistakes happen and it sucks it happened but you'll bounce back! You and Jaklyn have done a great job to date and looking forward to more videos.
It happens, keep going! Is good to see you guys staying real....
Happy birthday Jocelyn, enjoyed you “took the reigns” on this one.
Taku man, don’t sweat it, we all make mistakes.
As you said though, you can only be more cautious in the future.
We make mistakes and we learn from them. Stay motivated and keep moving on. The journey you guys are on is so exciting to watch. Take care!
Sorry for the frustration. I understand. Hang in there!!
Happy birthday Jocelyn!
Just Keep Moving Forward. Dont Let That Stop You.
Fix The Problem And Keep Kre4ting!🤜🏼🤛🏼
Taku’s bed filleting skills never get old
I'm sorry to hear about the accident. Glad you two are keeping your heads up and are already working on fixing the issue.
Happy Birthday Jocelyn!!!!!!!!!
Hey, no one died so its not that bad, we all make mistakes in some way or another...its good that you fixed it to look new again..👍👍
Sorry to hear bro! You'll be fine! Bro!
I am sorry to hear about your accident. Glad to hear that you had the roof rack fixed.
Look at it this way. The mounting rack is replaceable, but life can't be replaced.
happy Birthday guys!! keep up the great work!
Overall, it looked like a relatively minor repairs, as repairs go. I'm glad the force of striking to barrier didn't damage the metal roof of the van. Take care, and thanks for another update video.
Favorite van life channel!!
Done that with a rented camper van ..thought I fit under the bar to the parking..nope..sheared off entire roof vent..never went back lol HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jocelyn❤️🤘🏻🎉
It's okay we still love you even if you mess up you don't get angry you learn and that's a beautiful thing
Of course it's aggravating to make mistakes on a project, but my motto is "Any job worth doing is worth doing twice, occasionally three times." I just finished re-assembling the carburetor on my outboard for the third time after using the wrong sealant once and leaving a little spring out once. Oh man! I did the exact same thing with my van. That ikea in Palo Alto should have a height alarm on that ramp.
You filleted that roof rack without even touching the van roof with a really dull knife. Now that takes skill! No other sushi chef can touch that one.
Van is looking great despite the setbacks. I look forward to more videos from you guys
Everyone has atleast 1 setback! Dont give up its almost always worth it in the end
It’s so frustrating sometimes when you do something like that!!! I get it completely. At least the solar panels were not on there! I know you both must be busy with building a van and running two channels. See you in the next video 😄👍
She is so pretty narrating, you are blessed. Thankfully it didn't rip out of the roof.
Happy Birthday, Jaklyn!!!
Happy Birthday, Jocelyn!!! 🎂🥳🎉Yaaaaasss brows! So sorry about the van 😔
Understand your pain brother.... done similar myself before so ‘been there...’
Happy Birthday- here’s a Huge repair Bill. Everyone has setback and we all learn from our mistakes. It takes a big man to admit his mistakes when you could have fixed it without us knowing. I’m more of a fan now.
Nice bed fillet skills!
Only a sushi chef would fillet a bed. 🤣
Happy Birthdays, J and T. 🍺🍺🦪🍤🍄🎂🦑🦐🦞🦀🐙🐡🐟
Filleting the bed part killed me lmao 🤣🤣🤣💀💀
Valuable lesson.
Happy birthday to both of you
I feel you man I broke my car more today while trying to fix smh. But like you said gotta learn from our mistakes and be more careful next time.
If you can get under the lifted up part from underneath (inside the van) you can get a body dolly at Harbor Freight and a body hammer and you should be able to knock it down without messing the paint up too bad. Lesson learned, good luck bro!!!
We were able to apply heat and pop it back into place. Good as new!
It is what it is, you're still incredible for taking on this project. Mistakes happen, atleast didnt break the van!
This is great! You're now pre-disastered! Hit the road and feel secure!
Forward. Take the hits, keep on truckin'.
Happppy birthhday jocelyn!!
I think I'm invested! It was "oh no!" followed a few minutes later by "oh great!". Just means you'll really keep an eye on heights.
thankfully nothing major like the roof actually ripping, occured. wow. good job taklyn
Happy Birthday, Jocelyn! I'm glad the setback was easy to fix, you guys are awesome for building your van and "Taklyn the World"! Keep going!!
How is this the 1st time I find y'alls van build! Cant wait to watch these all now. I was just following on the main page.
Ouch! Mistakes happen, we're all human. It's a good word of warning for us all. I appreciate you making this video.
All good bro! Happened to me, at least you didn't get stuck at the airport and held up traffic. Now I triple check everytime to make sure I clear.
Oh wow getting stuck is definitely another nightmare!
Watch for leaks because of the uneven metal they have foam stripping with glue that can be used kind of like a sealing washer or possible caulking might be a good choice but as you drive the metal on the van will weaken and stretch over time keep an eye on it !
Don't feel too bad, stuff happens. Could of been wat worse. Hope both of you have a good birthday.
Oh no!!! I’m so sorry - that must’ve hurt you so bad! I’m glad it’s fixable but wow - that hurt me to hear it! Ouch, poor van!
I set an antenna on my van to the clearance height . That way if antenna doesn't clear then all I have put under the low underpass is the front hood. I am able to back out.
Oh dear never mind easily done. Fresh haircut Taku 🤙🏼
Things happen... Keep your head up....
Happy Birthday!
Hey, unko happens. It could have been worse. Glad to see you smile after the fix. Your van looks like a professional build. Nice job. 👍
unko happens😂 I'm gonna start saying that all the time now
@@OutdoorChefLife hopefully, you'll never have to. 🤞🏼
Not too bad. Could've been worse. Glad you both were ok.
It just shows you are human like everyone else. We all make mistakes. 👍
It is a bummer. However you are both healthy and safe. Just another learning experience. God bless ❤🙏
she didn't look too happy, lol. at least it didn't damage the van. Onwards!
