Plans with full-size patterns available at workshopcompanion.selz.com/item/dogebox-with-secret-compartment ! The box itself requires less than 2 board feet of wood, but you'll need seven species of wood veneer to make the Doge. I was able to do the marquetry with a "variety pack" of veneers that I bought at www.amazon.com/dp/B003F0G60A?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details . You'll have to assemble them as shown in the video to make 8-1/2" by 8-1/2" (21.6 cm by 21.6 cm) squares. Sometimes you won't have enough sheets of the same species to make a full square. When this is the case, figure out where to center the sheet you do have and fill in on the sides with species you won't use. You can see how I did this at 1:35 through 1:50. It's extremely important that each sheet in the stack be a full sheet so the veneers are as flat and as tightly packed as possible when you're cutting them. And in case you're interested, we got the chocolate Dogecoins from www.etsy.com/listing/1015803747/chocolate-dogecoin-coin-dogecoin?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=chocolate+coin&ref=sr_gallery-1-2 . About $1 US apiece -- a good deal more than real Dogecoins are going for right now.
Super cool techniques to get a perfect image in an imperfect world. I love watching you work Sir. You make that scroll saw work look like a walk in the park. Thank you!
While I appreciate your kinds words, it's Travis -- my camera-man-film-editor-guy-Friday -- that makes it look like a walk in the park. I can assure you that the real thing was a slow, careful, nerve-racking crawl in the park.
Thank you for a wonderful video. It went very fast but after watching it a few times, I have picked up some great pointers and "how-to's". I am now subscribed and hope to view many more of your vids. Thanks again.
If the time lapse video does well, we'll put up a video with step by step instructions like we did for the Scrapwood Rolling Pin and the Herringbone Cutting Board. In the meantime, you can get step-by-step instructions, plenty of tips, and full-size patterns at workshopcompanion.selz.com/item/dogebox-with-secret-compartment .
Excellent work- thanks to Steve Good for posting a link to your UA-cam channel- I subscribed to your channel I look forward to seeing more your work & I will definitely lookup your other videos Bill M
My brain exploded. You are gifted and talented beyond words. This was immaculate. Thank you for sharing.
Most welcome...and hope your brain is better now. Shop explosions are rarely welcome events.

At 4:55 says " wet sand to fill kerf with sawdust"
