It's incredible that a world class singer like himself still has time to go to a school and do this. The man is a legend.
The special thing about this performance for me was how the kids, probably around 8 years of age, were so moved by it. The power of music really does transcend all ages.
As an Australian I'm ashamed that I hadn't seen this before you showed it , I'm also immensely proud that Guy Sebastian is a fellow Australian , you just witnessed what I love about Australian celebrities , the vast majority of them would not think twice about doing something like this . They maybe famous but are just nice regular people when you get to know them , no airs or graces, and as we Aussies say ,not up themselves ,and they keep their political and social opinions to themselves . I don't know who was responsible for his visit to that school but kudos to them those beautiful young kids will remember that day forever .Thank you for showing this and please keep reacting to our magnificent talent ,you started well with John Farnham and its appreciated but we have an abundance of bands and solo artists who warrant a look Thank you again I'll keep watching PS you have my subscription .
he did two songs about his friend who took his life. Standing with you and the 1st. Choir. As a mother who held my only childs hand as she took her last breath Choir is the best song about death ever. So uplifting. 💗
Guy is an Aussie icon and a beautiful human being. An amazing talent. He won the first Australian Idol and is now a judge on The Voice Australia. That song “I’m standing with you tonight” was written by him and was dedicated to a family member who was struggling with mental issues.

You can tell by listening to all of Guy's lyrics he has a big heart it's as beautiful as his voice.

Battle Scars... The acoustic home version for the ANZAC's. One of the best acoustic versions of a song EVER. And watch for the breathing control, along with how hard it is to sing. Few can master this song the way Guy does, and he wrote it himself, like most of his songs. His writing skills are as good as his singing. And so meaningful. Singing teachers all over the world gravitate toward this song, to try and dissect how he does it.
The first song Choir won Song of the year at the ARIA awards (Australia’s Grammys) in 2020 and it’s about one of his close friends who was a musician who died suddenly.

Good one guys!! Guy Sebastian is an AMAZING talent. Writes all his own stuff and plays about 5-6 instruments. This song, called Choir, was written about his close friend and band member who committed suicide. Guy was unable to sing it at all publicly until he made it more upbeat as it was too emotional. Oh and yes he’s a judge on the Voice.
Just to add to Kappy's chorus, Guy appeared again as a surprise artist at the public performance of the song by the kids a few weeks later. He also fronted an appeal to collect, fix and distribute musical instruments to children in troubled circumstances. And he's up there with Farnsey and Barnsey as next-gen official nice guy.
Not only is Guy an amazing talent… he’s also a good decent person.

I was listening to Guy singing Christian Music years before winning Idol, so proud of Him - Huge heart, Huge talent.
Guy is awesome he won our first Australian idol in 2003 and has such a beautiful rich voice
Choir is Guy Sebastian’s song. He represented us in the Eurovision Song Contest & came 4th.
This song is about one of Guys best mates (in his band) who took his own life unexpectedly and was extremely hard for him to sing the first time he did it live... it still makes me choke up at the bridge! I love how much joy this brings though! There is another one like this where the kids surprise him back when he's in a movie theatre with another song that a radio station organised to prank him 😍 If you look up "Guy sebastian surprise at movies" that's the second part to this!

Love your thoughts on this. Would recommend you watching Guy’s Choir which is a tribute to his good friend who took his own life. Wonderful tribute. The song he sang here, Standing With You is a beautiful song of support for someone struggling with depression. Another song, Believer, is for his wife. Guy writes beautiful songs and his vocals are crazy. Guy will be another of your “favourite” Aussies.

I love Guy and I'm an Aussie, he's such a kind soul. You may notice that the kids sing an alternative version as some lyrics aren't appropriate for little kids to sing
