That was fast guys! Been waiting for this music video to come out couple of months now. Mainly due to because I was fortunate enough to be part of the crowd. It was a very fun few hours and a first one for me to be part of a music video. Fun fact: the band members were also diving from the stage into the crowd.
The day that this song came out, I had just gotten home after a 10-shift that started pre-dawn on next to no sleep. I had gotten in bed, all set to take a nap...and then I looked my phone one last time before passing out, saw the YT notification that Bodom had just released a new video single...and literally jumped out of bed and over to the MacBook so I could witness it all firsthand. And ever since that day a few weeks ago, I've literally been musically addicted to this song ever since. It's different, yes...but it's AWESOME and has such a catchy feel to it. As you both have stated, the Alexi/Janne synchronized harmonies are BACK, and they sound absolutely wonderful. No, it's not Hatebreeder reincarnate, but it doesn't need to be, because this track stands on it's own as being just one hell of a damn good song, period. Personally, I love it, and I can't wait to see what the rest of the upcoming Hexed album holds. Though I will say this in conclusion. I didn't (yet) go for the package option that included the reaper...but I sure as hell already spent some money on one of the 300 (or 500) limited edition numbered splatter vinyl's they they and Nuclear Blast have offered since this video's release. The whole "shut up and take my money" ideal couldn't have taken place sooner lol.
I saw them live at a festival, there were so many crowdsurfers, multiple moshpits and a giant circle pit. At one point during Downfall, there was a crowdsurfer, and the solo started so everyone wanted to see that. He was close to the security but someone yeeted that dude to the security they both fell and it was hella funny
I hate to be that guy, but I'm just being honest: for me personally (personally! ;)) that song is ok, but it's not blowing my mind. I loved and still love the Bodom era until Hate Crew Deathroll (still liked Are You Dead Yet though) but the new stuff is not really clicking. I think it sounds better than the last album. But let's see for the whole thing, I don't want to judge on the first single ;)
I couldn't agree more. To me, Hatecrew was the last great album they did. At least this song isn't terrible, but id like to hear the whole album before i totally decide to hate it.
@@frankyloopy More like a watered down Hate Crew song. I am with most here saying that after HCDR this band just sort of went from "great" to "meh" or "ok". Ever since they abandoned their darker and/or neoclassical stylings they just haven't had the same oomf as they once did.
Me and my wife went to the shooting of this video back in September! It was fuckin awesome and fun! Still haven't spotted ourselves from the video, though. :)
It sounds alot like Follow the Reaper, which i like! There is something though, it seems to lack energy. But! Singles are supposed to be more accessible, so let's hope the rest of the album packs more of a punch! I still love hearing those trademark guitar-keyboard harmonies again though, almost brings a tear to my eye.
Can you react to the band Munarheim? It is a german Symphonic Folk Black Metal band and they sound incredible. I would suggest you listen to the song 'Sehnsucht'.
I would recommend you start doing Starting Strength program with him. If i could turn back time, not doing gym is one biggest things i regret now that i started going to gym as 30 years old boomer.
Better than I expected, got some Omnium Gatherum vibes from it. Never really been a fan of CoB but at least this seems to be better than the last album.
i might have suggested this band once before but man! dudes! you must check out a band called forefather from england... they play a style they call anglo saxon metal.. and it's some of the most beautiful epic guitar melodies you'll ever hear don't think they have any offical video's out unfortunately... they have been around for awhile but are still kinda underground.. but albeit a very under rated band check out these songs... my favorites i suggest to you Master of fate link: ua-cam.com/video/WTPUTOkws-Y/v-deo.html that one i would say sums up their sound the best... @@APREACTS awesome! Always happy to meet bodom fans. I saw them in 2005 during the are you dead yet era, and its still my favorite show ive ever seen. And they drank a bottle of Jack on stage during the show lol.
Sadly Children of Bodom after HCDR sounds just like any other band. Nothing special, just same old boring USA orientated riffs. Shame because the 3 first albums ( HCDR still a good album though) are great. Matter of opinion ofcourse, but I just miss the neoclassical style, that is what made Bodom sound unique.
Nothing special, nothing new and definitely not a good indicator for the new album. If the first single is that weak, I have no hope für the upcoming album. Just CoB covering CoB.
Pelle Thiedemann Although I dont like this song, it gives me hope for the album. The songwriting and energy is lacking in the song, but the instrumentation itself very much so reminds me of HCDR. I just hope they can match the song writing to the instrumentation on the rest of the album, if not Im gonna be very disappointed.
"Children Of Bodom" nailed the new song and the upcoming album come to bee f... awsome;) Fan of COB of many years now and still fan to this day;)
"I buy all my music...with your money."🎶💵😂
Children of Bodom brings so many memories it got me into metal and guitar playing :)

Yes,but this is one of their best songs.. One of those dozens and dozens best songs.
Oh man...can't wait for the album if rest of the album is this good 🤘 I btw, live quite near the Lake Bodom
We will be visiting the lake next summer, is a must.
Pia Lindqvist I lived about 5 km from Bodom for 30 years and swam there many times. Terkut Lohjalta 🤘🏻
You guys look so happy when listening!
I like the song. It’s an easy listen with great guitars and keyboard melodies. Can’t wait to get wasted and mosh it up on Cob’s next tour.
I love the song! Already heard it 3 times today.

Antonio is not feeling it as well, to him it is ok. I like it, I am not blown away but I like it.
Same, maybe my expectations was too hight

i think its sound pretty much like de ''hate crew'' area. not that good, but pretty close to the sound

Hell yeah, I've waited so long for a new song from CoB and it actually is really good. I love it!
I liked the new song. Reminded me of some old material :) The verses sound like Needled 24/7 though
Me and my wife went to the shooting of this video back in September! It was fuckin awesome and fun! Still haven't spotted ourselves from the video, though. :)
Gave thumb up before even watched your video. And just because you reacted this so fast
My balls dropped when Antonio said "Hey guys!"
It sounds alot like Follow the Reaper, which i like!

Great review guys! Love the new single!
I would recommend you start doing Starting Strength program with him. If i could turn back time, not doing gym is one biggest things i regret now that i started going to gym as 30 years old boomer.
Hexed... Cant hardly wait...
I guess any teen can't wait to be of age but Anton must be wait turning 19 like no other teen in Canada to join his dad on all those gigs.
VARG! About time for that 2nd video
Dep Alexi, awesome song
Better than I expected, got some Omnium Gatherum vibes from it. Never really been a fan of CoB but at least this seems to be better than the last album.

GROWING
Dee Snider just released a new video as well, For The Love Of Metal. It's not too shabby.
Not a huge fan of the record
A&P-REACTS In that case Arch Enemy - Reason To Believe dropped today as well.
Yeah, that one is blocked by their label
A&P-REACTS That sucks, it's a decent tune.
Maybe new guitar player suggested to make some old school COB music, sounds like Follow the reaper style
if the show will be 19 and over, Antonio should wear his viking beard!
Great idea
Oh shit Bodom
You guys should check out Sealed in Fate by Orpheus Omega.

The main melody brings Van Halen to mind. Otherwise, it's a standard CoB song.
React to Bad Omen's Careful What You Wish For....
