I love old COB. Btw that other guitarist (Roope Latvala) who played with them from 2003 to 2015 was also a part of a legendary Finnish thrash-metal group Stone, plus he was in a band called Sinergy which was kind of a super-group.
I've always anticipated a new synergy release, but with Kimberly Goss doing her own thing as a teacher in the states and raising a family, I just can't see any re-formation happening!
Children of Bodom - Silent Night, Bodom Night Children of Bodom - Bed of Razors Children of Bodom - Follow The Reaper Children of Bodom - Children Of Decadence Children of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathroll Children of Bodom - Living Dead Beat Children of Bodom - Trashed, Lost & Strungout Children of Bodom - I Worship Chaos
One of my favorites by them for sure... even if I haven't been listening to CoB for a long time the amazing riff from this song just occasionally pops into my head.. and then it stays there.. for a good while. And I'm not complaining! duruduruduu duruduruduuuuuu
COB has to be one of my favorite bands. Going to see them live in couple of months now, HYPED af! Please react to some Canadian Wintersun too, Atavistia - Seas of Stars !
Awesome reaction guys! If you are going to check some more Children of Bodom out. you should definately react to "Are you dead yet?". I saw it live in Sweden about 8-10 years ago, it was epic! Looking forward for "Lost to apathy" by DT. Other than that, looking forward to you reacting to "Death. come near me" by the Swedish band Draconian. You should definately check those guys out, they are amazing! Cheers, William
When you arrive to Finland, you need to try Sauna, not the electric one, the old school wooden one, 100degrees celsius, that wakes you up, then dip to the lake/river and back to Sauna :) Repeat this several times. Dont forget the beer/booze and Makkara/Sausage ofc :)
I still think Bodom's best album is Follow The Reaper. The biggest banger on that album to me is Kissing the Shadows. That fucking solo at the end of the song is orgasmic. If you haven't already listen to it but the studio version. It seems playing that song live has always been a challenge for alexi
That song is too hard even for Alexi indeed. Lead guitar on its own is already insane. On top of that, vocals are not following the same rhythmic pattern, which makes it a nightmare to sing while playing.
Hi Pedro, that gig was a BLAST! I've seen WS for four times now during the years but I never got to be so near to the stage. Now I had the opportunity to see in detail how the guys play. Seeing Teemu play the solo for Death and the Healing and Winter Madness brought tears in my eyes. Jari's vocals were on spot. A perfect night. Unfortunately I had no chance to talk to Asim but I'm sure you will see him soon on their Canada tour. Cheers!
Saw the band live at Summer Breeze, their 20th anniversary, last year. It rained in the beginning, but that mattered not! :D Great show! Please do more Insomnium and Be'lakor =)
ControllerOfMinds The show would have been even better if there were a bit more time between the end of the COB-show and the start of Insomnium. I was very satisfied with their performance but had to go early :(
I think when they say hard rock it’ll probably be closer to Are You Dead Yet? Idk. I think it’ll be way harder than “hard rock” that you hear on the radio like FFDP. Either way I’m excited. The band are amazing songwriters, and it’ll be a good record, even if it isn’t closer to their old stuff (Halo of Blood, Hate Crew-> earlier)
Chaos Ridden Years is one of the best live recordings done as its edited sooooo good for the eyes and left raw for your ears. You should do Downfall from it as well as its one of the best versions of the song ever. Gonna see them in October \m/.
Old? Have you cheked some really old Finnish Metal? I would recommend Stone and their first album (Roope Latvala, former COB quitarist played in Stone too)
Used to be my favorite band. Nowadays I can't really say as I listen to over 60 bands, though their old stuff is still amazing. I'm pretty sure the comments about the new album were meant in a way that it is has a more rock feeling (Shorter, simpler, catchier perhaps?) than the previous one but that it's still metal. They also said it's going to have some neo-classical stuff on it which sounds interesting (They haven't really had any neo-classical stuff since Hatebreeder in 1999 or Follow the Reaper in 2000. You might want to try Children of Decadence by them. It was voted to be their best song on the official forums in 2015 after the release of I Worship Chaos. Here's a live video: ua-cam.com/video/Sa5hBiFuPZg/v-deo.html (Though as usual I prefer the studio version :D ) You should try Norther. They are fairly close to COB in style, and legend tells that the main composer, guitarist / singer went to the same guitar lessons as Alexi Laiho. What I know to be fact is that Wintersun's bassist played in Norther all the way from the start and that COB's current rhythm guitarist played in Norther from around 2009 until it's end. Mirror of Madenss Music Video: ua-cam.com/video/xjEXb5hKRek/v-deo.html
Alexi meant more "rock 'n' roll" in terms of feeling and vibe. Could mean it is more raw and riff based, the vocals could be meaner, solos a little more gutsy. That sort of thing. Oh and they played Lake Bodom at the show you saw, I was there and there are some recordings online haha.
I heard you guys talking about doing more covers in an earlier reactionvideo, specifically covers crossing genres. Maybe COB covering Britney Spears would be something - Oops, I did it again. Quite fun listening to ”double based Britney”
You have got to go back to Sentenced for a bit, dude, they've got some awesome tear jerkers if you're into that stuff (I am). Don't forget the stuff before Ville either, definitely worth checking out.
COB completely fell off my radar after the album Blooddrunk, and I only really liked Tie My Rope from that, although I was never hugely into them. what's been going on with them lately?
They've done three more albums the first of which is quite boring IMO, the second of which is great (Their best since HCDR), and the third of which is outright bad IMO. They also fired Roope Latvala in 2015 just before going to the studio to record their latest album. Daniel Freyberg from Naildown and, later, Norther, was hired to replace him.
React Dream State. They pretty awesome, really good rock with a female lead. The good thing is that they dont over sexualize her and her screaming vocals are to die for
I guess it's too much to ask for COB to release something akin to their hatebreeder days again! I'm all for them re - inventing their sound, but hard rock!? Hmmmm.....maybe in the style of blood drunk, but let's just wait and see I guess!
Mercenary - 11 Dreams :) Amazing Power / Melodic Death Metal from Denmark. I really recommend you checking them out. The band had a lot of line up and style changes throughout the years, but in my opinion 11 Dreams from 2004 is still one of their best if not their best album. ua-cam.com/video/PnjeWhQaJL0/v-deo.html
You should check out also this finnish band called Diablo, especially their older stuff is really cool! Maybe do a reaction clip with the newer stuff like Diablo -Icaros
Children of Bodom was my worst experience in Wacken tbh. The band was awesome, but there were so many crowdsurfing dudes that made it so hard to enjoy the concert. F**k these guys, one at a time is okay, but I can't hold 3 at once. :D
the crowdsurfing during cob was fine imo., because it was a noticably more experienced crowd. I always got notified when a crowdsurfer was coming up, whereas when less extreme bands like nightwish played, i regularly got people thrown into my back. I dont mind crowdsurfing, as long as people know how it works.
Is that a Nightwish shirt? Reminds me of Pagan's Mind's album covers. I don't think you've done them before, great band, do you know about them? Do Enigmatic Mission. Killer song, but the video isn't good, so don't focus on that.
I love old COB. Btw that other guitarist (Roope Latvala) who played with them from 2003 to 2015 was also a part of a legendary Finnish thrash-metal group Stone, plus he was in a band called Sinergy which was kind of a super-group.
I miss Sinergy.
Oh shit Sinergy was great. I suggest that A&P take a look at them.
legendary of legendary, really rocks!
I've always anticipated a new synergy release, but with Kimberly Goss doing her own thing as a teacher in the states and raising a family, I just can't see any re-formation happening!
Suicide By My Side is one of my favorite metal albums of all time
Children of Bodom - Silent Night, Bodom Night
Children of Bodom - Bed of Razors
Children of Bodom - Follow The Reaper
Children of Bodom - Children Of Decadence
Children of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathroll
Children of Bodom - Living Dead Beat
Children of Bodom - Trashed, Lost & Strungout
Children of Bodom - I Worship Chaos
React to children of bodom--- silent night bodom night

Old school COB, i like that :)
One of my favorites by them for sure... even if I haven't been listening to CoB for a long time the amazing riff from this song just occasionally pops into my head.. and then it stays there.. for a good while. And I'm not complaining! duruduruduu duruduruduuuuuu

Outstanding ! I hope these guys make it down under one day. Have an excellent week guys.
RIP Alexi, must have been 2004-2005 was there in Stockholm. Great dvd!
Thanks, one of my favorites band 🤘have to take you to a tour around lake Bodom.
This gig was amazing. You should watch the whole thing - Chaos Ridden Years.

That Wintersun T-Shirt, Pedro! Gonna see them live tonight, cannot wait! Great reaction, btw.
Tell Asim I said HI!!!
I will, if I only get to meet the guys! I hope so! :D
Hi Pedro, that gig was a BLAST! I've seen WS for four times now during the years but I never got to be so near to the stage. Now I had the opportunity to see in detail how the guys play. Glad you enjoyed the show, looking forward to their stop in Toronto
Hope Antonio gets to see the show as well. You guys will be blown away! :)

COB going hard rock? Damn Laiho is really in the Local Band mode right now :D hopefully its not gonna be another 80s attempt
Keep up the good videos, guys!

Kamelot - Memento Mori
Soilwork - Petrichor By Sulphur
That Soilwork song was stuck in my head for about 3 months flat. Massively recommended!
Yeah it blew me away, I think it became my favourite from them, taking over the long reign of Black Star Deceiver.
You should do Amon Amarth - War of the gods. One of their best in my opinion!
Hell Yeaa!🤘
Is that a Budgie in the background? i have 4 of em :)
AKA metal birds :)
Hey guys. When you are comming to TUSKA I can take you to lake Bodom. You should look up the story about the murders that happened there years ago.
That would be bad ass.
Coool !!! Don`t forget Green Carnation to react...

They did???? I know it was in November, but for some reason I thought they didn't.
69 Eyes - Lost Boys it is more a rock song and little bit older song but they have same kind of style than Type O Negative.
I heard you guys talking about doing more covers in an earlier reactionvideo, specifically covers crossing genres. Maybe COB covering Britney Spears would be something - Oops, I did it again. Quite fun listening to ”double based Britney”
Nevergreen - Frozen is one of the best covers
Southern Comfort - Man behind the mask (Alice Cooper cover) is also awesome
Also Leo Moracchioli Frog Leap Studios make awesome metal covers
Check Kai Hahto, the Nightwish drummer, ua-cam.com/video/EvSTZhDXpKo/v-deo.html and also Google drumcam of him. Amazing.
You should definitely check out CoB - Blooddrunk!
