It's not even fair how goddamn good these are at this point! I've watched a MINIMUM of 2 hrs of woodwork & machining YT per day for 2.5 years and I have never, ever seen something this impressive. It is unreal...
I've enjoyed watching these. I've been doing epoxy inlays for about a year now, I'm in the process of designing my first (complex) wooden inlay. Thanks for sharing all of your work, you're doing a great job inspiring others.
You used two different species for the face and helmet? That's what gave it the contrast. And that's why you split the inlays into several pieces. I couldn't tell until the close up at the end. My God man! You are the Picasso of CNC!! Well done sir! Again!!
Nik this is the second samurai inlaid board that you have done and both are amazing! I can very easily picture both of them being given as gifts to a Japanese emperor or their family, outstanding items!!!.
Commented too soon before you oiled it. Wow she's a stunner so so good. Got my CNC arriving this week and I have to say this and your other work is very inspiring, thanks for sharing your talent and keep em coming.
your vision is commendable, sir … as is your attention to detail. thinking, to myself, you probably chose to not combine softwood and hardwood … since each expands to a different amount … thereby, inhibiting splits. thanks for sharing, *_broinwood_* … best wishes.
You sir are a true master of your craft! The best inlay I have ever seen. If you were to make a master class of how something like this is done I would be the first to sign up!
It's a great board I cant understand why people say they would never put a knife on it that's such a shame buy it for what it is and put your knife on it I would and be proud to as well
That is so amazing, would be scared to cut on it in case it chips it. Just love the Japanese theme designs, especially Hattori Hanso. Wish I could afford one. 🏴👍
Hi Nik wow amazing work. You are a true master. I'm from the uk. We don't have much choice in wood over here 😥 I'm thinking of getting a cnc machine. Could you recommend one for me please as there are lots of cheap not so good ones out there? Any info would be much appreciated thank you and again amazing work cheers John r
How to find inlay parameters. broinwood.com/products/how-i-am-finding-inlay-parameters Most of my videos are a small report to my clients about their cutting boards and how they were made. I believe that it is very satisfying to watch it. And I really happy when you ask me to make a video because it is a special gift. Also, I want to say "Thank You!" to everyone who watches, liked, and comments on my video. I love your comments and always read them! I just do not have enough time to answer all of them. Sorry:) If you don't like the music, please turn off the sound :) Thank you! Answers for some frequent question: The time frame for a board like this is 3 weeks (if I'm not making other boards). I use a lot of different types of bits from 6 degrees to 90 degrees. (read in description) In this project, I have used 1/8, 1/2, 1/4 flat nose, and 15-degree v bit. Feed rate 60 ipm for V bit. For most projects, I use fusion 360, but also I use Ai, Vectric, Corel Draw, Inkscape, Ps. For finishing my boards, I use that wax and oil broinwood.com/collections/cutting-boards-care Why do I use a 1/4 flat nose bit for cutting inlay and surface? Because it does not make small chips.
i dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost the password. I love any tips you can offer me
@River Yousef thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@broinwood Can you tell me why you use the bandsaw instead of a table saw? I assume just a smaller kerf but wasnt sure. Thanks and freaking beautiful work!
“Here’s a list of a few things I like to use in my shop”... lists everything except the $20,000 CNC machine that everyone came to watch.🤣 Seriously though, great work. It’s incredible the amount of detail you can inlay.👍🏻
Incredible work of art Nik. A couple questions. Why Titebond III vs II, is it for the longer open glue time? Bandsaw is a Laguna 1416? What is the depth of cut on each pass when removing the male inlay material? Thanks!
These chopping boards are beautiful. Im new to this and would like to start making them myself, what type of cnc router do i need and software to replicate this kind of detail? Thanks 👍🏻
Vectric's Aspire software is absolutely amazing when it comes to making piece's like this. You can probably just use their VCarve software too. It still takes a lot of talent to get it looking as nice as the one in the video, but Aspire is the way to go in my opinion. Two companies I would recommend for CNCs are CamMaster in GA and Laguna in CA. I would support whichever one you are closest to! Hope this helped! 👍
Hey Nick I know its been years but I love this piece and just got my foxalien to try it shortly I hope(just got it programed and set yesterday) I was wondering if you could tell me where you found the boots/feet 23:06 I cant find them for coasters and IDK what they are called
It's not even fair how goddamn good these are at this point! I've watched a MINIMUM of 2 hrs of woodwork & machining YT per day for 2.5 years and I have never, ever seen something this impressive. It is unreal...
Same. This is nuts!
Would be a crime using your cutting boards as a cutting board, that's a piece of art.
I've enjoyed watching these. I've been doing epoxy inlays for about a year now, I'm in the process of designing my first (complex) wooden inlay. Thanks for sharing all of your work, you're doing a great job inspiring others.
This has to be my favorite cutting board video of all time.!
I have no need for a butcher block and here I am desperately wanting one. Unbelievable work. Majestic. Great job.
Thank you:)
You have truly opened my eyes to what can be done with a cnc and some AI files, thank you
not only piece of art, but it is also so relaxing to watch these videos
Am I the only one that would hang this as a piece of art in the lounge room?
You used two different species for the face and helmet?
That's what gave it the contrast.
And that's why you split the inlays into several pieces.
I couldn't tell until the close up at the end.
My God man!
You are the Picasso of CNC!!
Well done sir!
Again!!

Nik this is the second samurai inlaid board that you have done and both are amazing!

Thanks so much, you saved my account!
@Kyson Hunter happy to help :)
what where the 4 types of bits you used. I am almost done building my cnc router and want to get the right bits. Thanks
What cnc is he using
it would involve 1 extra bit change, but you should get a 1" whiteside surfacing bit and run that first :) just a thought.
Gorgeous!
What you do is amazing keep it up my friend loving it! 😎🤯💯
Great job! keep it up
Toda una obra de arte
Amazing. Regards from Spain
