    There’s a great quote I heard somewhere. “The government can force corporations to pay employees healthy salaries, they can give them 2-3 days off per week, provide a healthy workplace environment, but on the other hand a few billionaires wouldn’t like it”
    Edit: To people saying “consumers will suffer” have no idea how much money corporations actually make. And also if you use your common sense YOU WOULD EARN MORE, the effect balances out

      Workers work and generate value
      They are payed way less than the value generated
      And the surplus generated goes to the top
      In the hands of billionares,
      No body becomes a millionare or billionare any other way
      The government can make sure that surplus to not become so big by cutting and giving it to the workers
      Remind you cutting from that surplus dosen't mean inflating the cost from consumer end
      Billionares are scamming you by propogating a lie
      That they would have to increase prices to pay their workers atleast justly
      NO,they can pay their workers justly by cutting their margin
      But they dont want to do that
      They would rather be a billionare than a "puny multi-millionare"

    As a resident doctor, 70 hours is like luxury to me. All jokes apart, I don't know how labour market works but the reason we in medical industry and why many in police tend to be overworked is due there usually there not being enough of us. We literally have no choice in government hospitals especially. Too many patients, too few doctors and nurses.
    But everywhere else, it seems to be exact opposite. Millions unemployed but those who are employed are expected to work as if them not working would case someone to die. At least I have a weak mental excuse that if I don't work, someone may die. What is the incentive in an IT industry?

    Maybe maybe not, The whole issue is the CEOs or so called the leaders of corporate world are trying to extract 80 hours out of you by paying 40 hours worth, once it comes down to paying 80 hours worth, they'll run away and probably will not advocate for 80 hours work week anymore, this happened with Uber initially when they started paying drivers by hourly basis, the accidents skyrocketed as people clocked 14-18 hours a day! Not because Uber wanted but just because they simply could.
    They want you to work 80 hours and pay you for 40, once you ask for 80 hours pay, they'll back off lol

    • @nitingupta2398
      @nitingupta2398 2 дні тому +1

      In my opinion, corporations often aim to reduce their production and management costs, with the sole objective of maximizing output from minimal resources, i.e. employees. In a hypothetical world where working 80 hours a week is considered normal, they would likely push for 100.
      Still, if an individual attempts to work 80 hours a week, it becomes nearly impossible to maintain a healthy lifestyle or limit scope of personal growth. Practically, such an arrangement would lead to burnout, reduced productivity over time, and a significant decline in overall well-being of whole country.

      @@keshavbedi That sounds correct, your argument is totally valid! It will happen because of demand and supply unless these corporates do something like
      (Legal current working hours of a month (45 hours a week) / Current Monthly Salary ) * Hours you actually work
      and pay accordingly, these people will be cooked lol
      or they just pay overtime on hourly basis at the same rates (It is double in the US I guess)
      Not just this, the employees are also happily getting exploited, I HAVE NO CLUE WHY, Manager feels like they own the company and any profit is gonna directly flow into their pocket LOL and employees are too worried about being replaced/unable to please their masters, the Indian corporate is totally toast.

    • @शाकुन्तलम्
      @शाकुन्तलम् 2 дні тому

      @@nitingupta2398 sounds right, the issue doesn't seem the amount of work but the amount of pay you receive for the work, I am pretty certain that if the salary is paid 2 times for every hour you work beyond your normal working hours, the problem will be solved.
      Ex: I am getting 100k for 1 month or 45*4 hours=180 hours, now every extra HOUR should earn me TWO HOUR worth of salary because
      1- I worked extra
      2- I had to miss something that I had planned and it was supposed to be my leave
      The bottom line is, these people will never be able to pay our worth and back off the moment they understand they cannot get more work for the same pay.

    Wow, it changed my perspective as well. Earlier, I also used to think that companies should pay workers based on the hours worked, as it would definitely help the workers. However, after watching this video, I realized that this approach would not help; instead, it would give more power to the capitalists.
    Another argument for this is that if a company pays a worker ₹20,000 per month and then shifts to hourly wages, they might calculate the hourly rate based on ₹20,000. This means you could work 14 hours a day, but at the end of the month, you would still only receive ₹20,000. So, it wouldn’t actually benefit the workers.
    Thank you for sharing this.

I got tired explaining my co-workers that it is totally NOT OKAY and STUPID to stretch, stand your ground, but guess what? These imbeciles surrender, the moment Manager asks to work an extra hour or two, they run to please them and get promoted making it bad for EVERYONE and everyone in the team ends up overworking because that becomes the new STANDARD!
    There is a need of strong union at the grass-root level as the top down approach will never work (Look at that L&T guy, top down will never be proposed LOLLL) only a bottom up approach can help the situation now.

      And if the argument is about too much supply of labour, then let it be. Let there be too much supply of labour and let the overworking people overwork themselves and ruin their health. But this way companies won't be able to "own" an employee.
      In India, employees are owned by the employer, and the employer is supposed to work for him whenever the company wants him to without even bonus. Such a mindset will change and one employee will be able to work for any amount of employers. And create self respect for the employees seeing the vast amount of job security that they have. Sure, in initial times, but it would gradually grow, as employees start demanding better pay hours and when employers actually realise how much extra work their employees were doing.
      Tldr: start looking at hourly pay as a way to think about independent employee rather than about supply demand.

    The hourly wage concept can work only if workers form a union in every sector and they force corporations for a 'minimium pay' per hour. And Indian workers won't rebel as usual, so yes this concept cannot be implemented successfully, bcuz government will favor corporations to pay as they like even per hour. Akshat isn't totally wrong, but in India their are no labor laws, so again a company can pay you just rs50 per hour and still will get some desperate person to work for them.
    The only solution is hindsight is workers making unions and asking for 'overtime compensation' in their workplaces, putting pressure on labor ministry to introduce the concept of overtime for salaried-class.

    For the last 1 years, 5 day- banking is the news but no action, work load is high and it will be otherwise why employers will be hired,
    Can u tell me why they r not able to implement it??

    • @keshavbedi
      @keshavbedi  2 дні тому +1

      Because they can't go back on it, once they implement it. Aur abhi karamchariyo me tolerance hai for 6 day a week. Agar apna akrosh dikhayenge, to implement karna padega

    Sir, mera paas ek aur problem hai Bharat ke unemployment ko lekar aur wo ye hai ki agar lack of skill aur jobs ki kami hona sahi mai ne mein ek karan hota toh itne sare vacancies government sector mein dekhne ko kyu milte hai?
    Railway mein 2023 mein 2.5 lakh job vacancies dekhne ko mile the, 85,000 vacancies dekhne ko mile the CAPFs mein. Ye data 29 February 2024 ka hai. Source: Deccan Herald.
    In fact, Government ke National Career Service Portal mein 10.9 million jobs vacant hai par job seekers ki sankhya Sirf 87.8 lakhs hi hai. Ye data 27 April 2024 ka hai. Source: The Economics Times. Ye thoda paradoxical Nahi lagta aapko.

    keshav bhai, you seriously need to consider changing strategy to reach out audiences. Crap like Dhruv have million followers, while likes of you who articulate things well barely have few thousands of subscribers.
