I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.
Mate as an engineer myself I havent seen anyone near your skill or creativity in a long time! love your videos and always learn somthing new everytime I watch you! cheers from New Zealand!!
You Guys are brilliant! I always hate those who look for the negatives when you are so creative and passionate. I am so glad that you made that table as i was getting a sore back watching you do so much work on the floor.
Nice project👍well done. One concern I'd personally would have is the likelihood of water or oil getting in the concrete hole. I'd dig a bit deeper to add a sump pump and drain outlet ...below the location of the wench. Even on my covered carport and our covered shop, water gets on the floor occasionally from condensation from having a tin roof. Another thing is we sometimes intentionally wash them with soap and water to clean up.
Sorry to be off topic but does someone know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost the password. I love any tricks you can offer me
certainly, you have a workshop full of tools (toys), but first of all, you have creativity and not just your ass in a chair thinking that a thing could be done, i have watched your entire channel and you guys are awesome.
MMh more like some design flaws in this build (water/other fluid removal from hole?, smaller bits can fall in there and are pain in the ass to get back, what happens when something breaks/jams down there? chancing the table top sheeting when its damaged enough is pain, cause no bolts or screws, how sturdy this thing really is in highest position? and that thing is really slooooooow... O.o), what people didnt like, but i do dig the idea. It just needs little tinkering to get it perfected.
@@Hellsong89 Totally agree. So much work went into it, and it would not have taken much more effort to make significant improvement. The cantilever pivots for instance. As they are, they will allow an annoying amount of movement in the bench top. Machined journals and bushings, with some sort of simple thrust race between the box sections, would have made a ton of difference making the bench top way more rigid and rattle free.
I have watched this video twice tonight . You have some mad Skills, the construction and design are awesome. your corners and fittings are on the money no short cuts! Your welding skills are top notch. Build on, someday down the road I would like to extend & modify my second motorcycle lift into a sunken table in the garage floor. Your table project will help in it's completion. Awesome work!
excelente canal, eres o seran unos genios... gente como ustedes deberiamos de ser todos, creativos, productivos, ingeniosos. Les envio un saludo desde Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico la ciudad del Tequila.!!!
Hey, you should add bellows underneath the table, to keep nuts and bolts and other stuff from getting into the hole. I'd buy the bellow, but you'd probably MAKE them too. Pretty sweet table. Like the vids. Keep it up.
Good fabrication. Now you just need to wire it to a single pushbutton switch, instead of having to hold it down to raise it...then you'll be able to walk out, push the button, and have enough time to go back inside and cook yourself a nice bacon and eggs breakfast along with some fresh squeezed orange juice, and the table should be almost fully raised by the time you go back out to work. :-)
incredible! I'm going to steal the idea, if you don't mind. I've been thinking about putting a lift into my shop for quite a long while, but couldn't pull the trigger on the price. if I build my own I can probably put 1 on my Metalworking side and my woodworking side of the shop. you young guys are pretty damn smart!
High quality drill: HighCobalt with lower angle helix than standard drill. Will cost about 5-10 times common drill and last about 100 times more even on stainless.
Firstly good on ya for the negativity. Typical fitter comment. I think the saying goes if you can't do teach and teach you try only its His tool he can weld it to the bench if he feels the need and second wheres a link to one of your projects so we can come see your work? Bet you haven't done half the the stuff this bloke has forgotten
Hi, i draw similar project on this link; ua-cam.com/video/rZz612GBY-U/v-deo.html and you will download 3d cad files on this link ; grabcad.com/library/portable-rechargeable-lifter-1
Please turn down the sound when cutting metal. The high pitch noise is unbearable. Not sure if you can still hear it as high noises disappear fastest with hearing loss. Good work on the videos regardless of this!
I like it but with it in the sunken floor, I hope you planned to have a sump pump to discharge water..... and a way to get debris out that falls under the table. in our shop we blow debris from the area with a electric air blower or pick it up using a Shop Vac. in your case that may not be a option.
That is just what I need. You have made the most awesome workbench for the ultimate man cave. I might just steel a few of your ideas. Thanks for showing the nice projects
on my garage i made myself a heavy workbench, i put a 6 mm thick top but over a 18 mm plywood. I could have done it heavier, but it is more expensive and i wouldnt be able to lift it alone, it was about 35 kilos and 2 meters long way to much for one single person to handle
It actually is very practical for a workbench if you can make it work. The heavier the bench the less it will move around and shake when you do work on it.
4-year's ago or today: it doesn't matter, 'cause this is all a new idea for me here and now. And what a £#¥king idea it is! Words just aren't enough to describe the brain power, the effort it took to not only come up with this idea, but to pull it off as a finished working model... amazing, mate! Keep up the good work.

I'm so glad I found this channel. This channel reminds me of Colin Furze channel, when it comes to building stuff, not the personal feel. Colin acts a little crazy from time to time and I like that :) These guys have better tools and a way bigger workshop though.

Thank you very much!
This format for video ought too be the standard that all diy’s follow. Real concise! Real factual! No fluff! Loved it !
I don't know who does your videos but they are the best by far .....sick to death of hearing people waffle on ...keep up the GREAT work .
Thank you so much! :)
Awesome! Very cool of you to do a shoutout for Cactus Workshop, Carlos is another amazing talent that puts out really good content.
Thanks man! Yes Cactus is the best. :)
you rock the creativity!
Thanks!

So what happens when you drop a screw and it rolls into the center
Oh shit....
Magnet, duct tape and broom stick?
Oh no bro....
Then there is no more terrorism
shit happens. they could add a net on the outsides. or they could just make a new screw :D
OUTSTANDING stumbled cross this by accident, first thought was he must hate workin off that floor. GREAT looking work.
OMG this is super crazy cool!!! I think I'll have to dig a hole in my shop! lol
haha Thank you my friend! :

One of the cleverest ideas I have ever witnessed!
you need to get out more
No
certainly, you have a workshop full of tools (toys), but first of all, you have creativity and not just your ass in a chair thinking that a thing could be done, i have watched your entire channel and you guys are awesome.
Who are the 25 people that didn't find this totally awesome? Must be something wrong with them...

Dude, this channel is badass!
Thank you my friend! :)
probably the best and most practical "make" videos on UA-cam.
The stuff you've made would save $$$$'s in setting up a workshop. kudos.
Thank you so much! :)
very clever !!
Thanks!
Superman?! I thought you would be more of a batman kinda guy. Awesome table! Keep up the great work.
Thanks man! :)
Oh man! So cool!!!!!!
Thanks!
I thought this was an American channel 'til I saw the UK plug. Very cool stuff.
The master of the mig creates yet another incredible piece!! So awesome dude!
Thank you man! :)
I love watching every one of your videos! Where are you from? The electrical plug on the winch motor looked like britisch island....

Of course, you debut this just as I'm about to embark on a weekend project of making a workbench. You guys win...
brilliant. I want one!
Thanks!

Absolute awesome build 👍👍👍

Yeah but then you'd have a lot of safety issues to worry about, theoretically.
This is what I call PRO.. incredible idea. Bravo bro.
Thanks brother!
Holly sh......t you built your house starting by the bench, coooool
This must be extreme! No drilling lubricant at 1:52-2:10.
i thought that too
High quality drill: HighCobalt with lower angle helix than standard drill. Will cost about 5-10 times common drill and last about 100 times more even on stainless.
Isnt it cooling and not lubricating?
Probably a little of both.
This is the best table build on UA-cam. This guy killed it. Great work.
Thank you very much! :)
2:19 Hammering with a measuring tool... worst you can do :-(
No the worst thing he can do is hammer with the part he's making.
Firstly good on ya for the negativity. Typical fitter comment. awesome !

so when you bang your square against steel whats really moving the part or your tool
That's how you use a hammersquare!

Please turn down the sound when cutting metal. The high pitch noise is unbearable. Not sure if you can still hear it as high noises disappear fastest with hearing loss. Good work on the videos regardless of this!

where is the extreme top you should of went 10mm thick top
That's absurdly heavy, so entirely impractical
no, in fact is thin, should went at least 13mm
on my garage i made myself a heavy workbench, i put a 6 mm thick top but over a 18 mm plywood. I could have done it heavier, but it is more expensive and i wouldnt be able to lift it alone, it was about 35 kilos and 2 meters long way to much for one single person to handle

I'll just toss in that my welding table in my garage is 5 foot by 10 foot and 2 inches thick, or about 50mm

This is like the walmart version of Jimmy Diresta
Wait what? Was that a compliment or not?
Dollar tree for sure
That is one hell of a bench, very inventive not to mention sturdy. Thanks for sharing.
how much weight can be lift? this one...
