It's an excellent explanation about hydraulic systems. Thank you .

Excellent explanation - and I like the details about the safety latch very much, however, where is the latch installed in the system? I've always wondered why the DC3/C47 landing gear doesn't bend at the swivel point and I feel I'm getting closer, but I'm not quite there yet.

Great question, the safety latch, is by the captain seat on the floor. If you face the cockpit, on the right you will have the gear handle, by the F/O, lower you will have the hand pump, on the floor, and on the opposite side on the floor by the captain seat the safety latch.

For the landing gear, I am sorry I am not sure if I understand the question.
The main idea of the gear is to stay locked down. The gear expands to an over center position. (Between the top part and the bottom where the tire is attached to)
So more you put weights on the wheel, ore the gear lock into position. The actuator is here to make sure the gear stays in this over center position.
I am re-watching the video, and it seems I forgot to talk about the over center. Also the safety latch prevent the gear to go up in the event of a lost of hydraulic pressure.
The safety latch is connected to the landing gear handle but also to a latch situated in the gear cell.
