I’m very confused by what the korean said. I’m korean and I’ve never had lunch in a classroom at school and we had a separate cafeteria. I can say all korean public schools have a cafeteria except for a very particular reason. I wonder which school she went to.

In America, it's been a while since I was in school for lunches, but the entrees that I recall were pizza, spaghetti, hamburger, chicken strips, and tacos. Drinks were almost always milk cartons. Once I reached high school, rarely did I have the prepped school lunches and opted for a la carte.

As a Korean, I have something to say to those of you watching this video.
The things that the Korean girl in this video is talking about are not the same in all Korean schools. It depends on the nutritionist who works at each school and the rules of the school.
I am also very confused by this video. Because her experience in a Korean school is very different from my experience. lol
In my school, we had a separate cafeteria, and we could eat as much extra food as we wanted, and sometimes we could drink chocolate milk or strawberry milk, and boys and girls ate in the same space.
I think that girl's school had very strict rules. 😂😂
in so many kdramas, there's cafeterias, is that real or no loll

As a Japanese, it's really weird to see eating curry with chopsticks. It is not common to eat curry with chopsticks at school, in restaurants or at home
As far as I can remember, I've never seen curry and bread combined at school. Usually we eat school curry with white rice

my old high school had a snack bar where they sold $1.75 strawberry or blueberry protein shakes, the only time people eat lunch in the classroom was when they either go to lunch when its not their period ( most kids get assigned a period 1,2,3 for lunch) the second time is when we got the leftovers and some like to finish it during class
Although it isn’t common. We in America do eat in our classrooms if we are busy with homework that we didn’t complete the night before. I used to do that all the time because I didn’t want to do it at home. Also, the library was a spot we could go to as well.
For my school, kids would only eat in classrooms if they had a club or lunch detention lmao😂

for American lunch we didn’t have juice at all. It was all milk, regular and chocolate. And if you wanted water or a different drink you would have to pay for it. Don’t know why they made us pay for water though💀
The juice they would give us though was always in a little bowl looking cup with a thin ass straw that would always break 😭😭

カレーの時はライスだからパンは出ないし、箸でカレーを食べるなんてありえません
それにコロッケとポテトサラダってどっちも芋だし…パンもあるのに炭水化物多すぎ…
日本の給食は栄養士さんがきちんと栄養バランスを考えて作られています、だからこんなにおかしな組み合わせになる事はありえないです。

only in my country u have different food everyday? we have 2 dishes and its just soup and some dish like potatoes with meat or spaghetti or just any other dish and "kompot" which is like a juice made from boiled fruits mostly strawbeeries. it sounds weird but its really good also in my school milk was only on special days like once a month or even longer
this was a very fun video to watch
it's sort of funny how students here eventually got tired of the pizza, since at my school it was served every day. goes to show that you need variety even when it's somethin good. also! when they were talkin about havin different menus based on different cultures, we had days like that at my highschool too. (public highschool)

Korean lunch looks interesting, American lunch brings back fond memories. I, do like the item served in Japanese lunch. If I can make a mixed lunch, I would Combine Japanese style with American.

In British secondary schools the meals differ one day we have rice and curry other days we have pasta but Fridays we get fish or sausage with chips and pizza and if you want chocolate chip cookies or even rice crispy cakes if their not finish by the time your there and like I a America we eat in canteen and it’s kinda crazy everyone will run (even thought we’re not allowed too)
Yoo in my schools, if you got 2 lunches it meant you took someones because they can see who got lunch already 😭 and the pizza was always offered and nasty yet edible. Best lunches were the wings (on Superbowl week and other events) and nachos every other Friday 😆

2000년대 학식인가요.... 요즘 저런 학식없는데 된장국 파무랭이 김치 돼지제육 정도면 그 시대에 베스트 반찬도 아닐듯
타키코미고한, 炊き込みご飯은 한국의 영양솥밥하고 비슷합니다. 한국에도 있음.... 이것 이외에도 버섯밥, 죽순밥, 콩밥 등등 한국에도 밥을 지을 때 영양에 좋은 음식이나 채소류 및 버섯류를 섞거나 하는 경우가 꽤 있죠. 타키코미의 타키코미가 이 밥을 지을 때 섞어서 넣는다는 말이고 고한은 그냥 밥, 식사 이런 말입니다. 고로 걍 뭔가 섞어 넣은 밥으로 영양솥밥하고 같습니다... 실제로 타키코미고한을 한국에 소개할 때는 일본의 영양솥밥으로 해석하기도... 한국에도 있슴다...ㅠ
炊き込みご飯 is Japanese food, but korea have similar food too, "영양솥밥".
炊き込み is mean "mixing smone vegetable or mushroom with rice when make rice" in Japanese.
"영양솥밥" is made same(similar) process, and they have history since joseon or more earlier than joseon.
i wish japanese girl realize that and she eat when she want it, because cannot eat food we want is the worst experience in lifetime

My school would allow seconds as long as everyone had gone through the line first. But I went to a small school. My high school only had 300 students and most would leave for lunch and eat at subway.

in japan you can not bring your own lunch because it would cause envy.. all the students eat the same meal. in the USA we even have fast food companies that cater lunches. normally there are choices of different meals.

It's so funny that Songsun said that in Korea they don't have cafeterias. Maybe she meant in high schools? I worked in 2 different Korean elementary schools- one big and in a city, and the other small and in the countryside- and both had cafeterias haha. All the kids and the teachers would eat there at the same time.

미국급식이 가장 나쁩니다. 미국에서도 이것때문에 큰 문제죠. 학교 급식이 완전 정크푸드가 돼버렸다고요. 이게 레이건 정부 때 학교 급식비를 줄이는 바램에 지금까지 이렇게 엉망이 됐습니다. 건강에는 일본급식이 나트륨 같은게 적게 들어가니 제일 좋을거 같고 맛과 양은 한국급식이 최고네요. 물론 학교에 따라 다르겠지만.
