@@zdx197 e30 was released in 82. The motor was manufactured from 98-2003. 20 years difference I would say is modern on stock.
@@deanshields8031 debatable. If you want to get more technical, the S62 V8 engine is an M derived engine from the M62 in the e39 540i (an evolution from the M60 in the E34 540i from the late 80's). All of them being an n/a V8 with the S62 being the most powerful (and granted most "modern") iteration from it. I get your point but calling it a modern engine is a bit of a stretch 😄

Well I'm going to be that guy because I do infact have this engine in my car. He was also wrong about the transmission. 540i and m5 are the same 420g. Sometimes it's not about being a dick but letting people know which info is wrong so bad info isn't spread.

the s62 is a 4.9 liter if i remember correctly, so this has to be an m60 with an s62 intake plenum if its a 4l. (which i never knew you could do)

Absolutely love this. The car probably goes into oversteer so easily because the diff is welded but clearly it works with the rest of the package and talented drivers can adapt their driving style to suit. It’s almost like he’s got himself an Alfaholics GTA but a BMW E30 version… with a V8 🤌🏾
I’ve got a e30 myself, I’ve had many cars mostly JDM turbos but yea with the e30 you have to be skilled to drive like this it’s extremely raw
