I think a great addition to the game would be to hide the hunters sanity from the hunter. It would prevent him going to the cabin early to prevent dying, and it would be funny I guess idk.
Edit: the game came out and they solved the issue so it’s all g now
I feel like that might be a bit too much, i def think there should be something to counter "go to the cabin before sanity runs out" but hiding it all together sounds too difficult. Perhaps, instead of a concrete bar, there are visual cues? Like a shaky camera, vision tinting grey or red, shaking hands holding the bow, or auditory sounds, like how teeth grind in Amnesia. As well as the ability to disable each cue individually if, for instance, someone is bothered by a shaking camera, or is color blind. (Personally, if they add a heartbeat sound that can't be disabled, I wouldn't be able to play. So I'm sure others feel that way towards the things I've suggested)

@@Akrob55555 the comment is just a suggestion since games with a safe zone are very prone to camping. I haven’t played the game but I’m trying to spread ideas to the devs on an idea they might want to consider for balance purposes. Of course they don’t have to take this advice, it’s simply a suggestion.
@@Amon_Gus906 Alright. I think it's hard to draw any conclusions on how it will actually play out in practice. Hiding sanity may break the game completely.

Oh I LOVE this idea! It looks so cute and goofy at first, but then all of a sudden it's a horror game (well for the hunter at least). I saw someone else say this, but I think it would be a good idea to hide the sanity bar, maybe hint at where it is through flickering or something else. Either that or hiding the sanity bar from the deer players?

You all may want to consider that they could be entirely unique creations instead of going straight to indigenous myth. Seems to me like they're just normal deer and the hunter's simply batshit insane.

Hunter sanity goes down every time he kills an innocent deer. If he kills enough innocent deers, the hiders become demon deer and hunt him down.
ITS DEER SEASON!
I had two ideas for how to handle cabin camping hunters in your short, and wanted to elaborate here.
1. Add a secondary win condition for the deer. For example: every morning (a number of) mushrooms regrow, and if the deer eat all mushrooms they win. Mushrooms are more likely to spawn in near other uneaten mushrooms, meaning edge camping dwindles resources. If more mushrooms grow closer to the cabin, it forces the two to meet; but if enough are far away that they can stall, the Hunter has to risk exploring to find them or never win.
2. The players are in a queue to be Hunter. Reaching the cabin cycles who is hunting next. Killing the hunter bumps you to be the next hunter, losing your original place in queue. Hunter wins if he kills all the deer in a single day, a single deer can win if it kills the hunter a number of times equal to the number of deer.
I like this idea
First sounds neat, perhaps needs some more detail but I like this one (it's like task wins in Among Us; it forces the imp to kill while not forcing the crew to vote people out).
Second sounds too complicated.

Step 1: make a randomized list of players. Whoever is first is the Hunter.
Step 2 version 1: Every time the Hunter enters the cabin at night, move to the next player. He is now the Hunter.
Step 2 version 2: Each time a Deer kills the Hunter, move his position in the list to be right after the current Hunter. Then iterate the list so he is now the Hunter.
Step 3: Keep track of each player’s kills as a Deer. If it ever equals “total players minus 1,” he wins. Otherwise, Hunter wins if he kills all Deer.
That’s it. Just lists and logic. No need for spawn control, overworld object watching, et cetera.
Making randomized yet organized mushrooms, which randomly yet with organization respawn each day, to encourage both the Hunter to explore and the Deer to approach, is much harder.
Also, unlike Among Us, the second one guarantees everybody has a chance at each role.

Hunter's Sanity 😂
I hope this game price will be around 5€. I mean it has the potential to be the next "Among Us" or "Lethal Company", the strengh of these game is that they cost nothing, so it's easy to convice your friend to buy it. For example, none of my friend, including me, bought Among Us, we all got it offered by another friend !
I also hope that there will be more maps with their own specificities that affects (a little bit) the gameplay !

This is very true, but unfortunately many developers don't think like that. For example, this game is price at 9,75€ (which is the same price of Lethal Company). It's super expensive imo for an early access game that will only give you a maximum of 2 hours gameplay if even that. Your 5€ pricing sounds much more reasonable and you can convince your friends easier while still have a good time for the price you paid.

My idea for this game is a mini map for the hunter only, and it only shows the trail-cams and their viewing range! The sound of the trail-cams sensing something will not be shown on the mini map(if you want the hunter to be less op), or it will show which trail-cam made the sound if you're close enough! What do you think? Maybe this could be part of a separate game mode or something idk! ;D

Hey, me and my friends have been really enjoying your game, in my opinion you should add a nightmare mode where all the deer are monsters and the hunter has to search for clues on where his key could be to his cabin, it would be like a extension to when the hunter looses his sanity in the normal mode. Also I think it would be cool to add the ability to unlock or buy different cloths for the hunter, Ik this is supposed to be a small game and there’s only 2 people working on it but I think that these changes are necessary to the games evolvement and will massively improve the game.
Spent 2 hours already with the fellas testing the game, needless to say next saturday weve got a group play session with webcams and beers. Game is fantastic so far. This will blow up like lethal company did

I bought the game and had a good time the other night, I really hope you guys have success.
Some feedback for the Devs now that I've had a few hours to play this.
-In lower player counts, the deer feel like they're at an extreme disadvantage. I would make sanity drain faster with fewer players or make the hunger bar take longer to drain.
-When a deer runs into a tree while running away, it's extremely hard to gain any momentum again, even with the speed burst. It wouldnt be so bad if collisions were more consistent.
honestly, this game seems to be really fun.
Interesting take on the mechanic of what happens when you hit the wrong target.
The game is beautiful, even the sound design! But can u may add some stomping sounds for the monster, the louder they get the closer you get? And a youmpscare for cathing the hunter? That woud be fricking wild!

Only thing I would change is the outlining of the hunter when he has to run to the cabin. I think it just makes it way too easy for the deer when they know his location at all times at that point.
My biggest issue is just how easy it is to totally juke the hunter forever as a deer if you're any good at video games.
You should really either make the deer slower or make the bow faster, maybe even hitscan.

So i think you guys need to be made aware, a game called Hoofobia is on steam as well and has the same premise as this game like a 1 to 1. Streamers and youtubers are playing it now.
We've already been made well aware of it and talked with the dev of Hoofobia to see how future updates can make our games more unique. Just an issue of two games with the same ideas and different mechanics

I think you should add coins so every time a hunter kills a deer he gets 10 deer coins (DC) and every time a deer survives he gets 30 deer coins (DC) and with coins you could buy cool abilities, like hunter abilities, or deer abilities, or maybe upgrade speed or hunger and hunter sanity all with deer coins! you should also add a lobby like whenever a round is over they all go ina lobby and can choose a map or buy abilities.

The specs recommended in the steam looks concerning when the graphics looks simple compared to other games that looks better. The recommended specs is about *on par with RDR2's* fortunately It is early access so I hope it changes.

there should be a map where its a snowy mountain and instead of deers it would be goats, when the night appears, the goats would transform into demons or devils
