    ....thanks Paul! Sharing your knowledge is a good thing. ( I can tell it's a lot easier for you to explain to a camera (with editing) than to explain to a person. .....I can tell, because I'm the person that has trouble when stuff is explained to them, but find understanding a video a lot easier. ) I greatly appreciate, as do others, the time and effort you put into your videos.

    To take that one more step... Make a small rafter "pattern" out of scrap 2x's then lay that pattern on top of the plywood you intend to make into gussets and then cut without any chance of cutting into your rafters and with much less waste. The saw doesn't even get close to any rafters. When I was doing carpentry work we kept "patterns" of gussets in varying angles 4/12 6/12/ 8/12 12/12 you get the picture, and then we carried them with us from job to job. Drill a hole somewhere in the middle to hang them all on a nail in your workshop or at the jobsite and use them indefinitely. ;)

    I’ve been trying to get a shed built for 6 months now. After dealing with a crook that took my deposit and never came back (except to to put my money in my mailbox in CASH because I assured him I would pursue him to the depths of hell) to another company that priced the shed like it was an addition to my house, I’ve decided to do it myself. Thank you for the way you make it so the people who only have to do it once can actually get how to do it.

    Question... I have noticed builders have the use of these pink studs these days, and different edge colored sheathing. Can you explain the different colors on the edge of sheathing, and their application, as well as the different colored studs, and why you would use some different colored studs for rafters but not all of them. Thanks - D

    • @SJ-gd6bo
      @SJ-gd6bo 5 років тому +1

      Not sure I can answer all the questions.
      The colored studs can be a fire retardant or a mold/mildew retardant. The colored sheathing is typically the reflective type or the zip system, which is the built in water resistant membrane.

It had the 2 slopes on each side and then a ridge board and the ridge board went down on the ends to the framing. now between the 2 slopes on each side there weren't wooden gusset plates but rathe steel gang nails on both sides of the joint. Planning to make a shed over the winter, and maybe a chicken coop. I just bought one of these squares, so it was perfect timing for this video. I've never used one to it's fullest capability. Thanks!

    Cool video. I am currently building a shed at my parents house. I’m building a 8x16 shed. I’m at the part of the build where I need to build the roof trusses. This video is very helpful. Thanks.

    I am pretty handy, but when it comes to building a shed, I don't know all the details from the flooring, framing, trusses, and sheathing, not to mention the overhangs. You make this very easy to follow with the smaller model. I am now totally confidant I can build this myself (with a little help from my friends, of course). Thank you for posting these phenomenal videos. By the way, I am currently replacing my front driveway gates with the non-sagging gates seen in one of your other videos. Keep up the great work!

Ive heard some decent things about it and my cousin finally got astronomical success with it.?
