- welcome to our Travel day Mauritius video. We are travelling form London Gatwick to Mauritius Via Dubai in todays video. Our travel day was long with our flight from Gatwick at 13:35 (Sat 3rd Dec) and landing into Dubai at 00:35 and then with a very short stop in Dubai and some shopping later :P our next flight at 02:20 and landing into Mauritius at 09:10 (Sunday 4th Dec) Our first hotel for our 5 night stop is The Westin Turtle Bay North of Mauritius were we got a sneaky upgrade to a junior suite woohoo!

Myself 🙋🏼♂️ and Ellie 🙋🏼♀️ both met each other in college where we both studied travel and tourism 🌍 back in 2009. We got married👰🏼♀️🤵🏼♂️ in Mauritius in 2018 and we have both been inseparable ever since! We are both like a jigsaw and we can quite happily say either of us are not complete without the other!
We decided to start our UA-cam channel just before the pandemic started to bite around the world as we thought wed love to capture our memories as well as make informative honest videos about different resorts and hotels to help other travellers decide what might be right for them when booking their next trip abroad. We haven't looked back since and we have so much fun bringing our videos to life for you.

Stray animals aren’t for everyone they only came up to us as we love animals and we entice them near us 😍, a lot of the hotels have stray animals not loads and loads like just the odd here and there we probably just made it look like there a lots but you don’t have to worry 🙂.

Good morning elle and James.can you stay on any part of the island. I love animals like the look of feeding giant tortuise was just wondering if easy to do day trips,from any part of the island.have a lovely Sunday
Yes you tend to stay on the coast (north, east, south or west) but it’s very easy to do day trips from anywhere on the island. If you didn’t fancy hiring a car like we did then the best way is to hire a taxi driver for the day (not expensive) and they will take you where ever you want or they can even suggest an itinerary for you :)

Nothing wrong with Indulging on holiday .. I tend to do the opposite and drink less and eat healthier for some weird reason .. loving the journey so far .. gonna show my mrs later .. who did you book thru .. or did u do it all yourselves .. love the air tag idea too .. looking forward to next video

Ohhh interesting wish we would be a bit healthier on holiday! I think it’s because we eat healthier at home and don’t particularly drink at home so we go crazy when we’re away 🤣 we use an agent to book our holidays and if you follow us on Instagram and want those details happy to share :) yes apple air tags are great wouldn’t travel without them definitely worth getting :)

Ohh your flying from a different airport from us and your only staying around the corner were in Melleiha.
There is a trip you can see all the beautiful scenic spots in a jeep 4x4 that’s a good trip! See the blue lagoon if it’s your first time too. (It’s mega busy though 😳) you have to see Valletta too and see the upper/lower Barrakka gardens. You’ve got Mosta Dome which is cool to see too :)
Love how excited you both are that’s what holidays are all about.
We badly over indulge when we are away - we have one cooked meal a day at home - it’s 3 a day on holiday plus as many snacks as we can get 😂

Haha over indulging is what holidays are about. We’re the same only one cooked meal at home that’s why we put on so much weight when we go away 😆 ohhh and don’t forget the cocktails 😋

We got sooo lucky with the upgrade, the room was stunning 🤩 most definitely that’s what holidays about. Doesn’t matter how many pastries are eaten at breakfast we deal with it when we get home 🤣

Yeah we’d say it’s great we’re both vegetarians and we didn’t have an issue a lot of hotels offer some good food now - I know we are terrible at showing the food (we need to get better at this 😅) but the food we had was some of the best we’ve had on holiday so far 😘 👌🏼.

The ginger ice tea was delicious especially in the heat 😋 haha always finding animals we attract them and we loved having lunch here because the views were so nice and the food was great too!

Vacations are for eating and drinking anything you want! 😁 bob sometimes tries to behave himself on what he has on vacation but for me that’s part of the fun.

Yeah we try to behave but it lasts all of about 2 minutes when we get lunch or dinner 😂 we think FAQ it! We’re in holiday let’s enjoy ourselves we don’t eat like pigs at home 😆.

We never ever get upgraded either and it was so nice I wish we stayed a lot longer at this hotel 😏 just wish we always got upgraded though haha that would be nice.

Loveeee a travel day! It was interesting to see Gatwick again, we’ve not been for years now! Looks like you had a great flights as well, have that spare seat is lucky too, definitely let’s you relax so much more without having a random next to you lol! So funny how fast you was having to shop at bath & body haha, Ellie smelling as many candles as she could as you had to rush, getting 3 free was ace though! James trying that egg was hilarious 😂 some plane food is just not good at all haha! Can’t believe how beautiful the Mauritius looks and the hotel grounds look so lovely! The room you got upgraded to is amazing too, looks huge and those balconies 😍 Looks like the best start to the holiday, can’t wait to see more of the island and the other vlogs! Love Gatwick it was so good to fly from there again and so many more food options at North terminal which was great to see :) definitely feels like you’ve won a decent flight 😆 it’s nice to be able to spread out a bit!
Haha I’ve never smelt so many different candles in such a short amount of time I looked like a proper nutter but so chuffed with the deal they had one it would have been rude not to 🤩

Always makes me chuckle when you say you’ve hit the jackpot if no one is in the aisle seat! We were always the same! 😂🙈
A great tip I was given years ago, if you book the window and aisle seat, unless the flight is super busy the middle seat is unlikely to be taken. It worked really well for us most times and if anyone did ever book the middle seat they were always happy to swap to the aisle anyway so you haven’t lost anything! ☺️

We do it’s amazing when no one sits next to you we had the most annoying people next to us that woman when we wanted to get up she just shuffled her legs and wouldn’t move 🫠 I mean WTF who does that so Ellie was annoyed then when we came home I had a guy that had ADHD and wouldn’t sit still I nearly slapped him one 😆.
We’ve tried doing the seats like that but the system has a hissy fit and doesn’t let us 🫣 so we give up.

That’s why we used to like Emirates 777, there are a few 2 seater rows at the back. No annoying people stopping you getting out for the loo! 😂
