If we did change the title then no one would find it on Mauritius under keywords and YT works weirdly with how many characters you can have etc too many people don’t watch etc etc it’s a hard algorithm. That’s why the title is as it is. We’ve been Mauritius a few times and love it and from people watching the video they can tell we were done over by our holiday reps massively. We Mauritians even charged with icecreams for high price on the beach as they sometime confused local as tourist here even that, they argue that their price is same for all

Hey 👋🏻 you’ll live Mauritius but we haven’t heard of them, when they kick you up they’ll probs do a taxi for the day and can take you to the spots like Chamarel etc as these private firms do letter prices then what trailfinders etc will charge you 🙂. It’s okay we did get some money back in the end I chewed there ear off so it was all good. Sorry for the delay in the reply we just got back of our Norwegian fjords cruise 🚢

Despite the crazy price we paid we did have the best day 🤩 I get you they are exhausting, we would prefer to do private trips but the budget doesn’t allow haha 🤣 it’s always good to have a mixture of relaxing and exploring!

She wasn’t very helpful but we did end up getting some money back in the end by taking it higher so it was a good outcome :) James had the best day thank you even though he does hate being sung to 😆 I love it when people sing him happy b’day 🤩 Love that yes we love to be out and about too 🥰

We are there now and booked a five (!) island trip including lunch, lighthouse, waterfall, Ile aux cerf. For less than €150 for two persons (Rs. 7400)! Too bad you guys got scammed. We always compare multiple providers to avoid these kind of activities. Love the vids by the way.
We definitely made a a boo boo and was making decisions when we were both so tired from travel day so will definitely not do that again 😆 you guys got a good deal by the sounds of it and I hope you had a lovely time :) Thanks for watching we appreciate it :)

I may have missed it. We fly out next week (Nov 7th) so have been genning-up. Yours is one of the most useful/informative vids we have seen thank you. 30yrs since last in Morris’s Island 😉 so much changed. We had been quoted £350 for private speed boat 5 Isle tour & having done similar in Phuket & Krabi, weer looking fwd to that until we saw other vids - which all looked disappointing so we are not doing that now. Ironically, your views of the lighthouse & Isle au Cerf looked the most attractive we’ve seen but nothing really stands out/justifies the time & money. So we’ll just enjoy the Lux hotel and do the tour around south of island. €720 is too much for 15mins for the 2 of us in helicopter over underwater waterfall so fingers crossed a person seaplane may have a cancellation (fully booked at present). We’re from Essex too 🙌🏼 hehe. The company I believe that ripped us off was called so will La coque or something similar to that name anyway. A company I’d use and recommend they normally pick you up from the airport if you’ve booked a transfer to your hotel ask the driver if they work for holiday connections they don’t have a website unfortunately but we booked the dolphin trip through them and it was 60% cheaper or maybe more than this trip we did and we loved it 😍. If not hotels have taxis etc and you can hire a car for the day to go Chamarel, La Vanille etc we did this from the Tamassa in 2018 🙂. Hello, firstly thank you so much for watching our videos we really appreciate it. We knew the price of the trip before we went on it but was made to believe it was the going rate. It was only when we got speaking to the other people on the same trip as us that we realised how much more money we paid. We still had a great day despite that :) The roads were decent james enjoyed driving on them. There were some crazy drivers but like you get everywhere, and the busiest area was near Port Louis so I would avoid that if you plan on driving. The price of fuel was roughly the same price as the U.K. we didn’t eat out but if you eat at local places and from street vendors the prices will be a lot cheaper! I hope that helps and have a lovely time in Mauritius we love it 🥰

When you get picked up on a transfer just ask them what company they work for first if not most hotels that call “taxis” for like hire for a day are mainly working for them too hope this helps you and have a fab holiday in a few months time 🙌🏼. Unfortunately they do t have a website it’s a tour company run in the country but most of their drivers, if you have one booked through your tour operator normally work for them so just mention it on arrival or if not at your hotel if you want to take a trip somewhere these are the guys that will work for them 😉 hope this helps.
Just booked Mauritius for january for my first trip ever to that part of the world... The only long haul tropical destinations i have done previously have been in the caribbean region, barbados, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and St lucia so i am looking forward to seeing a different tropical region. That turquoise water exactly like the caribbean.

We were in Mauritius in September. I booked an all inclusive trip including airport transfers and stayed at Veranda Palmar. I used taxi from the hotel and paid 1300 rupees for the day to tour all the sites we chose. For island tours people on the beach will offer you exceptional prices. Just shop around. Don't pre-book tours
We knew the price before but it wasn’t until we were on the trip that we found out we had paid a hell of a lot more money than everyone else on the same trip which was very frustrating!
Ah this looked like such an amazing day! We love day trips like this and getting to explore different parts of the islands / beaches! It looked so stunning! You can’t beat some islands views from a boat too! 😍 So funny, Ellie saying that lighthouse island smelt like 💩 and then you James can see how awkward you felt when you had your birthday surprise / song 😂😂 You definitely wanted to run off lmao! 😂😂 Such a shame and really annoying that you paid double than everyone else, so ridiculous! Glad you complained about it and the cheek the person had to tell you not to get scammed! Good to know for anyone who might visit though the price to actually pay etc! We’d have been so fumo, but at least you had a wonderful day though and your tour guide was ace, that makes the experience so much more fun as well! Such a fab video guys! 🤩🤩
Despite getting robbed on the price we had a really really great day! Love being able to explore different parts of the island. Haha just bringing it back down to earth but it annoys me that people go to these places and leave their rubbish why can’t they just take it with them! Haha poor James hates it he says (secretly loves it tho I reckon) I just love watching his face makes my day 🤣 such an evil wife 🤣 We did end up getting some money back which was a bonus but so wrong what they were charging considering everyone else paid sooooo much less for exactly the same trip! The locals definitely make a stay or a trip the best and we hit the jackpot on this day. We had the best memorable day 🥰
As it happens everywhere you get a wide choice of agents all selling you trips at digfferent prices. But in the end they all just send you to the same trip provider. So any one trip you will get people who paid differening amounts. So it always helps to shop around and find out why the expensive ones cost more.
Hey 👋🏻 we didn’t get to shop around unfortunately being our second full day on holiday but we still don’t get why this company charged 7.5k more rupees than the others makes no sense 🤷🏼♂️ on the plus side I argued with them black and blue they gave me 5k rupees back 😁 lol. you cant really blame locals in poor countrys trying to make more money out of us europeans. to them your very rich just by getting there.ive seen real terrible poverty round the world and trust me theres no poverty in the uk .

@@JamesandElliesAdventures it seems for me you where going from ferney on a speed board to ile aux cerf, this could be quite expensive, usually you take a boad from trou deau douce, anyway the price is to high, I am long time here now, I also got scammed, but you can't compare the prices anymore, like it was before the pandemic, food plus 30%,taxis+50%etc

Even the price the others paid is ridiculous, can get the same boat trip you did for 1000rs pp..dont organise any trips through a hotel.

The only long haul tropical destinations i have done previously have been in the caribbean region, barbados, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and St lucia so i am looking forward to seeing a different tropical region. That turquoise water exactly like the caribbean.

We were in Mauritius in September. I booked an all inclusive trip including airport transfers and stayed at Veranda Palmar. I used taxi from the hotel and paid 1300 rupees for the day to tour all the sites we chose. For island tours people on the beach will offer you exceptional prices. Just shop around. Don't pre-book tours

We knew the price before but it wasn’t until we were on the trip that we found out we had paid a hell of a lot more money than everyone else on the same trip which was very frustrating!
I got excited at the end .. love our Ellie 😊… and what a shithouse your rep was … either way ya live and learn looks awesome
🤭 lol yeah they were A* holes I did argue black and blue we ended up getting nearly 5,000 rupees back which is about £95 thank god!

Ah this looked like such an amazing day! We love day trips like this and getting to explore different parts of the islands / beaches! It looked so stunning! You can’t beat some islands views from a boat too! 😍 So funny, Ellie saying that lighthouse island smelt like 💩 and then you James can see how awkward you felt when you had your birthday surprise / song 😂😂 You definitely wanted to run off lmao! 😂😂 Such a shame and really annoying that you paid double than everyone else, so ridiculous! Glad you complained about it and the cheek the person had to tell you not to get scammed! Good to know for anyone who might visit though the price to actually pay etc! We’d have been so fumo, but at least you had a wonderful day though and your tour guide was ace, that makes the experience so much more fun as well! Such a fab video guys! 🤩🤩

Haha just bringing it back down to earth but it annoys me that people go to these places and leave their rubbish why can’t they just take it with them!

We did end up getting some money back which was a bonus but so wrong what they were charging considering everyone else paid sooooo much less for exactly the same trip! The locals definitely make a stay or a trip the best and we hit the jackpot on this day. We had the best memorable day 🥰
As it happens everywhere you get a wide choice of agents all selling you trips at digfferent prices. But in the end they all just send you to the same trip provider. So any one trip you will get people who paid differening amounts. So it always helps to shop around and find out why the expensive ones cost more.
Hey 👋🏻 we didn’t get to shop around unfortunately being our second full day on holiday but we still don’t get why this company charged 7.5k more rupees than the others makes no sense 🤷🏼♂️ on the plus side I argued with them black and blue they gave me 5k rupees back 😁 lol.

you cant really blame locals in poor countrys trying to make more money out of us europeans. to them your very rich just by getting there.ive seen real terrible poverty round the world and trust me theres no poverty in the uk .
The thing is the locals who work for the companies give you a reasonable price not x2 what everyone else paid for that trip ohh well lesson learnt right 🤷🏼♂️. Thanks for watching appreciate it 🙂

I know it’s mad looking back realising we could have booked a private boat trip but we live and learn! We booked this with our tour operator and will never make the same mistake again!

@@JamesandElliesAdventures it seems for me you where going from ferney on a speed board to ile aux cerf, this could be quite expensive, usually you take a boad from trou deau douce, anyway the price is to high, I am long time here now, I also got scammed, but you can't compare the prices anymore, like it was before the pandemic, food plus 30%,taxis+50%etc
What company/rep did you use? That's a big difference, so sorry for you 😢 We go in September and want to do some excursions.
Never book with 'reps' and 'tour companies'. - they all have a margin. Just go to the locals and ask
Hey 👋🏻 thanks we’ve learnt the very hard way we booked a trip after with the taxi driver all days which was less than half the price we got quoted for that one 😅. We’re never again doing a trip through a rep for sure.

We are there now and booked a five (!) island trip including lunch, lighthouse, waterfall, Ile aux cerf. For less than €150 for two persons (Rs. 7400)! Too bad you guys got scammed. We always compare multiple providers to avoid these kind of activities. Love the vids by the way.
