  • All the vehicles in this video had valve seal repairs done after verifying they were smoking from the exhaust.

My car smoked like the cars in the video. I replaced the valve stem seals (which were enlarged and hardened), yet it still smokes. I have now also rebuilt the turbos and changed out the PCV bits, but again, it still smokes.

Hi. Excellent compilation! Question? In all cases smoking stopped? I'm questioning a car with 120,000 miles smoking badly. Could valve guides also be an issue at this mileage? I saw a video of an n63tu that needed guides apparently. I guess that would be new engine time?

At 120k miles ya probably needs valve seals if it has never been done. Just make sure whoever you go to for the repairs know what they are doing lol. At the mileage the engine will likely need some other work done as well. The n63tu engines also need valve seal repairs sometimes just not as often as the first n63. Sorry it took me awhile to respond! (To answer your first question it does usually fix the smoking. But in some cases their could be other causes of smoke or oil consumption.)

@@Treyk87x Thanks for the reply. Got it. I guess what I was asking is what are the odds the other causes for consumption could actually be valve GUIDES, not seals?

@@iceyu2235 Its most likely just the seals but it is possible for the guides to wear

@@izakwireless4275 I bought a new fuel injector set and fuel pressure sensor installed it all myself for about 800 with all the necessary tools and parts to do the job, took me about 5hrs only because I've taken apart my car a few times for simple things and most of the stuff you find here on UA-cam so give fixing it yourself a shot first it doesn't hurt and at the very least you learn how to do something in the process!

Did it work ? Was it the injector? I have a very low amount of smoke the car drivetrain work what is it?

@@barzanqaftan2854 I haven't figured it out yet since I slowed down on trying to fix my car so I'ma send it in to a BMW specialist mechanic to see if they can run a diagnostic test and I should be able to take it from there once I know what to do even though I've pulled the codes but codes just give you a general idea of what's going on as this can be from multiple things but if it is a head gasket I'm fucked for a valve cover gasket I might tackle but perfer to pay someone else to do it as it is a bit of a bitch to do too
