So they know that if a fighter gets to use a helmet when theres a huge weight or skill difference. They both should be wearing head gear being that it is a considerable amount harder to knock someone out with it on. Reducing force of impact means there's less newton's being transferred into the person's head.
Force = mass times acceleration
To reduce that force is an unfair advantage.
