I'm semi-retired, work at Lowe's part-time, and heard this song as part of the store's background music. I grew up in the '60s and this song had a simultaneously retro but refreshing sound. It's hypnotic vibe kind of drew me in subconciously, I think. I don't think it hit me the first time. Anyway, I don't know too much of recent music, so I asked a young colleague if he knew the song. He didn't but held his phone up in the air (to my astonishment as I don't do today's high tech). Couldn't get it that time, but a couple of days ago, I heard the song again, my colleague was there and he snagged it out of the air. Really glad I found this. I see from other comments that it really affects a lot of people (probably a lot younger than me).

I love this song, mostly because it reminds me how much my dad loves me. He told me he use to sing this to me and still does at times. I love listening to it every now and then when I’m feeling down. It seems like my dad will always still with me through this song even if he passes one day.
I love how smart this song is... 1:10-1:22 is just pure expression of love at the second it Hits you. I've never heard anything that describes the 12,000 tiny mice running up and down your heart when you lock eyes with the true love of your life like these 12 vocaly simple, clean, perfect second do. I listened to this on magic mushrooms...sitting on a loveseat by a window, with soft sunlight shining in on me...watching the patterns shift and grow in the shadowy room. Reds and golds pulsating and spiraling. Nothing short of magical

No matter how low I feel, this beauty always gets me back up and gives me hope. Such beautiful lyrics, this is truly a masterpiece. I'd love to hear this being performed in person.
Sometimes I just think of this song, and how great it is at serving as a checkpoint in the mid-2000s in it's own way. It's one of the greatest for sure.
Everybody really loud now...........And I do believe it’s true That there are roads left in both of our shoes But if the silence takes you Then I hope it takes me too So brown eyes I hold you near Cause you’re the only song I want to hear A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
I'm not even really a fan of the band, but I love this song. It's beautiful, sweet, and sad. It reminds me of my best friend when I was a kid. She and I were inseparable. We thought we would end up getting married as adults. Her family moved in third grade and I never saw her again. Listening to this song makes me want to see what she's up to and see if we could reconnect and be friends as adults.

I've been looking for this song for years after barely hearing it one day walking through a store. I searched for days to no avail. Today I heard it again, and I'm so glad I did. It explains exactly how I feel about myself and my wife.
I first heard this as background music for a movie called Catch and Release. It hit me so hard I had to pause , rewind , replay till I caught enough of the lyrics to do a Google / UA-cam search and found the music video which also was emotionally resonating. +Mrlda love The music we grew up with holds our most treasured memories.......those of our youth. There are fewer times better in our lives. We lived those young lives through a pair of rose colored glasses. We hear a song and those memories come flooding back. I was born in '60 and the was around to see the rock revolution of the 60's and 70's so I understand what you mean when you say you miss those days. It was a great time to have grown up and I feel the same way and I feel the same way as you. There is a great deal of power in music and it's truly a gift!!
When I turned him on to "Mine For Ever" by Lord Huron, My brother's good friend played this for me. We lost my bro Steve 45yrs. ago yet he will always exist between the two of us.
Me and my mom loved this song. She made me promise to bring it up to my guitar teacher so he could give me the chords for it. I found my notebook with all of his lessons in it today, and came back to the song. It's so nostalgic there's a pain in my chest.
OMG, me too! My daughter's name is Melody & she suffers from addiction. I've literally put her on a Greyhound countless times to countless "destinations" for rehab. And while I know this song isn't necessarily about that, I cry every time I hear it. Did I mention that she has brown eyes too? Oh and for the record, this song is amazing anyway! Love this music, vocals... The whole shebang.
I first heard this on the radio while I was playing GTA San Andreas, they didn't say what it was when it was over and I didn't remember the lyrics so I couldn't google them. Drove me insane, but after managing to hear it a couple more times I googled "where soul meets body" and viola! My dumb ass cracked the code! Song was then on repeat throughout my highschool years. Good times.
I heard this song at my local sprouts, could BARLEY hear the lyrics but could make it out, and found the title at a 2006 internet forum looking for the exact same song, this is beautiful
This was one of my husband favorite songs, he committed suicide in 2021.. I hope his soul met body I had him cremated an I hope he's not upset at me for that, he was my freshman love an we been married for like a decade I had more history with him than anyone
My dad showed me this song and his fav part is where it says “So brown eyes I hold you near cause your the only song I want to hear A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere” cause my mom has brown eyes and it reminds him of her❤
Fell in love instantly with DCFC supporting We have the facts.... Opening for Pedro the Lion and I believe Starflyer 59 opened for them. Glass house Pamona. Copped a drumstick Ben used in a guitar solo he threw and accodenly hit a girl. The girls BF came up when we were meeting them in front of the GH in their beat up van. Such cool dudes! Never forget that night!
I remember when I first heard this song... I used to watch Fuse and similar channels while eating breakfast before school, hoping to catch a glimpse of my favorite videos. I was thirteen at the time. Then I saw a video of a man walking through an empty forest, and immediately I fell in love with the song. It wasn’t like anything I’d heard before. To this day Death Cab is one of my favorite bands, Transatlanticism being my favorite album but Plans being a very close second.
This song always makes me think of one person..the only person that id do anything for the one person i have a dire craving to spend the rest of my life and all of eternity after with i always thought that when we die we'd be buried in the same coffin and even though shes with another right now im grateful she said that shes still ok with us being buried together ive always feared death and what comes after but it gives me s certain sense of peace Knowing ill have her by myside from the moment we die through the entire TIMESPAN of earths ending days and so on and im still holding onto hope ill get her back before that moment but whats a few decades compared to centuries
Yes, I like the other two as well, but this particular song has a certain drive in the musical score that the others lack. I think someone above said it was aggressive and I would agree, it is kind of aggressive even though it's got minimal instrumentation. Between the drums and guitar is just pushes.
I first heard this song many years ago, when I was watching the movie "Catch and release", which is featured in the last scene of the movie. I liked the tune, but because it was only played for a few seconds, it wasn't long enough to figure out which song it is. However, the tune stayed with me and then a few years later on, when I was working in a store, the song was playing again as one of the store's background music. I couldn't believe it. Now I could hear the whole song, I was able to figure out the song title from the lyrics. I was so happy!

This song started to play in my head randomly, and it's been years since I last heard this song. It's better than what I remember
For anyone who needs to hear this;
Youre fucking awesome. Keep that shit up.
“So brown eyes I'll hold you near
'Cause you're the only song I want to hear
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere”
Dam this song came out when I was 5. Thanks Ted and Victoria to introducing me to a bop
One of my favorite songs that has taken on new meaning for me throughout this journey I call life.
I've loved this song for so long. It will be perfect at my memorial service.
I can't help myself crying EVERYTIME I listen to this song.
RollerCoaster a lot of their songs have this effect. I saw them in concert, my wife and I cried
Patrick Garcia was it by chance Houston at revention center?
OMG, me too! My daughter's name is Melody & she suffers from addiction. I've literally put her on a Greyhound countless times to countless "destinations" for rehab. And while I know this song isn't necessarily about that, I cry every time I hear it. Did I mention that she has brown eyes too? Oh and for the record, this song is amazing anyway! Love this music, vocals... The whole shebang.
Ekho I have the same problem with Marching Bands and What Sarah Said.
@@lemnpievalentine What Sarah said touches my heart every time
I first heard this on the radio while I was playing GTA San Andreas, they didn't say what it was when it was over and I didn't remember the lyrics so I couldn't google them. Drove me insane, but after managing to hear it a couple more times I googled "where soul meets body" and viola! My dumb ass cracked the code! Song was then on repeat throughout my highschool years. Good times.
ʜʏʟɪᴀɴ ᴘʀɪᴅᴇ same, brings me back to seventh grade
This was on GTA San Andreas???
it was on regular radio by the time GTA SA came out
Funny you say that, the first time I heard the song it was about that same time period... I remember writing the lyrics inside of my dresser drawer

This band is so good, totally underrated!

I remember when my former girl showed me this song because I have brown eyes... good times. I do miss her, and I wish to see her again someday.
Aww I'm sorry
So lifts my soul.. could very easily imagine a Native American drafting these lyrics
I love this song. It’s my fave song.
This is a song about deep unconditional love.... it's beautiful
One of the most beautifully written songs songs ever made
Agreed!
My dad and I agree that this is an example of a completely flawless song.
I once showed my dad this song in the car and I crap you not that is the story of the first time my phone was broken by getting thrown out off a car
@@cactusdeckolan7437 wait fr??
@@Natureofmycircuitry He hates it lol
what. a. treat. I'm almost euphoric. Thanks Host (2013) for introducing me to this.

Feels. One of my favorite songs, lets me get away from everything
The movie “Catch and Release” brought me here. I’m so glad it did.
"Where I sent my thoughts to far off destinations"

This song calms me, it reminds me alot of my comfort show.
my dad loved this song but he passed :(
My condolences.:( Lost my dad 12 years ago, so I know how rough it is.
Sorry man

I hope that you're better!
Rofl
Is that a joke or not, because if not, I hope you get better. Let the angels sing in your ears.
Same probably why I came here this music brings me wayy back to when I first started high school in 2008.
Still one of the greatest songs ❤️
for some reason this reminds me so much of Freaks and Geeks. Especially from 2:05 on
How I met your mother season 1 brought me to this treasure
I really love these lyrics....thank you!!!
That voice takes me back 20 years at least. When I hear this band I miss my college days.
Cuanta belleza. Esta canción es realmente un himno
One of my fave songs ever, that is for sure
I will always love this song!
Totally forgot about this one. Classic
It seems like many of those unknown songs i like hearing on the radio are made by these guys. Black Sun, Beverly drive, and this
Wierd This song, and those other 2 are the exact other songs I listen to from this group...
A very underrated song!
