- The Mitsubishi L200 has a common fault where the rear windows lets water in which in turn soaks the carpets right through to the front. Here's an easy fix to try before you start pulling all the interior out to seal the windows.
Update here • Leaking rear window on...
Just trying this now. Unfortunately i have broken the little plastic trim when getting it off. Still sealed it as suggested and am now waiting for the rain
OMG You are a LEGEND. Have had my 2009 L200 for 8 years now, i look after it, clean and wax it, fsh etc . AWAYS wondered where this leak was happening ,i even re-sealed around my back windows, it helped a little bit, but still when its really pissing down, my carpet gets damp . Cant wait to do your advice repair. Thank you so much.
Did as you said..perfect..thanks 👍🏼
Given up waiting for the husband to fix it and gonna do it myself. Deciding between this easy way and the more tricky way so would love to hear if this is still not leaking. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Never leaked again 👍
It works thank for your information klass
Nice one. I have only just bought this L200 and noticed the wet head lining just at the top corners where these windows are. I will have to unbolt the hard canopy to get to these screws but that's where I'll start.
Perfect 👍🏻 thank you
Did mine your absolutely right so obvious it's easily missed thank you mate much appreciated
I had this problem and I did what you said and I now have a bone dry interior. Thanks for your tip.
Just done mine fingers crossed bro hope so wet
was just about to remove back seat and carpet, found your tip, only leaking left side but did both sides .... hope it does the trick .
...and its FIXED no more leaks :-)
Thanks
Mine started leaking in the passenger footwell a few weeks ago. I stripped everything out, cleared drain plugs etc, but still kept happening. I saw your quick fix, and noticed that someone has done this previously, some years ago. However, the mastic had started to perish & crumble. I have removed the old mastic and noticed a gaping seam.
Its now filled with sealant. Fingers crossed it keeps the water out and I can put the carpets back in and do the shake n vac! (for you non GenX'ers, it puts the freshness back!)
Nice vid I need to do mine
Legend ! I’ve got the same issue I’m going to try this on my truck👍
Just gave it a go after torrential rain last night only just dried mats out from last time I thought it was the window rubber at first let's see if this works 🤞
Probably better to use a clear PU adhesive rather than silicone as it uses moisture to cure so if there is any water left in there it will still get a good adhesion. Just a thought
Did it work long term ?
Yep.
Hi mate did it work please
spot on
Thanks for that.
Hi.. I have the same problem in my 2014 Barbarian..did it stop the leak ??
Totally dry now even after 2 days of rain. Worked a treat...
Mine same after two weeks of constant rain here in North Yorkshire. Going to wet vac the interior and do this fix today. Balls to taking out the interior!
@@portandcheesesociety5017 good to hear it worked. Taking the window out is definitely overkill 🙈
