So happy i saw this my roommate has locs and im getting into braiding my own hair and its gotten to the point where im ready to try on others! So im now actually excited to do her hair now knowing i can go under her new growth with a crochet hook

is the jam at the root necessary for the passion twist? or is that just to retwist the hair and clean up the part? want to do this but trying to use minimal to no products other than oil

I just did this to my hair but my locs are short. I never even thought to crochet the hair in... that makes so much sense. I'm doing this next time.

I only used a small amount but with any jam/edge control there will be some build up that why I always advise my clients to only use it when there hair is old but some come back for braid maintenance so I wash there hair. I would like to know how many locs does she have? Did you double any??? I have 142 locs I would have to use less hair so it won’t be soo heavy

If you crochet the hair in the new growth of the loc, there is no point of braiding it. it looks more uniformed without the braid on top of the twist.

But it pulls too much at your real hair with that method
But I think it will probably hold tighter to the scalp, cuz my new growth always makes my crochets styles looks bushy and stale at the root.

Why retwist the loc then crochet the hair thru the root of the loc??? 🤔🤔 Makes no sense and it’s disruptive to the entire locing process.

Keep in mind she has Locs, so the slight shade difference is her natural locs. The stylist did an amazing Job and it looks great! I’m getting mine done on Tuesday 💁🏾♀️
