You should definitely go listen to all the songs he did during "The Singer" competition!! This is his very first time singing in English! During this competition he sang in French, Russian, English, Kazach, Mandarin, Italian and "alien" (Diva Dance 😂). The other competitors did 2 languages basically. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
There's no way for Dimash to convey emotion with his voice.

When the little guy came in for his guitar solo Dimash blasted him off the stage. At the end of the section it looked like Dimash was waving the guitarist off the stage, almost saying Get out of here, this is my song! Great reaction to a truly amazing singer - Dimash.

I really enjoyed your reaction of this song. Dimash makes other songs seem smoother than the originals. Has a surprize in each song he sings. His rendition of this song is better than the original. In the beginning of this video the boy ask the asian girl if Dimash was nervous, she replied, not if your name is Dimash. I have never seen him nervous acting while singing anything.

Dimash didn't speak a word of English at that time and only learned the lyrics phonetically. Participants in the 'The Singer 2017' competition had a week to learn and arrange the song that has been chosen for them. It was the 3rd song in the competition.

He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500.
Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night.
Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to.

The best moment in this show was just after Dimash started thanking everyone and saw his father there. He didn’t know he was there. Just after they got out of that room Dimash turns to his father and asks if he did good! When Dimash was gonna go in to the other contestants he again turned to his father and asked him if he done good! That’s the kind of man he is humble, loving and respectful.

Gloria Wu's channel has the back-story about the song that is so sad and from a life story about a boy losing his parents in an awful way. Also you get to hear how Dimash sounds like then loosing his voice the day of the show!!! When he went on he didn’t know if he could sing. Looking close at the other contestants they where so worried about him. He lost his voice again after. Li Jian another contestant bought him a very very expensive Chinese medication for him so he could get better soon!

Episode 10 : 'Unforgettable Day' In Kazakh and I think some translation in Chinese to. If I remember correct he wrote the music to this one when he was 19 years old and lyrics by Oral-kosai Baisengir, who was a poet/lyricist father of a friend of Dimash. Also in this show another contestant "Terry Lin" that was about 51 years young here he considered Dimash a dear friend at this point. But Dimash started telling them al he was his father around episode 9 I think!! That is a big respect and love from his part of the world to call him! Terry was gladly accepting it. They are still that close and also invites each other to there concerts and sometimes singing this song in duet to. They sang it in Jackie Chang movie festival in 2019 and Jackie was choked in how good they were. Terry was known as an alien before Dimash and they have similar vocals to.

He didn’t win the competion they say its because he wasn’t Chinese. But I don’t know if that’s right or not! They change the rules next year. But he got the most out of it and was most known after this. Got lots of awards and other things to. So he won the audience and the Chinese people.

Queen is one of his fave..he loves rock..he practices or harmonize hyms to Queens music all the time backstage etc..
I love his version and other covers he has made. He seems to b able to rephrase the words in such a way u really get it. Whilst I loved Freddie's version, I think I like this better. Though it was heartbreaking to watch Freddie performing, knowing the inevitable was round the corner.
I think this was only the 2nd song Dimash sang in English in this stage. He had never sung in English anywhere, he had to learn the words via phonetics. Amazing. (Same with his Cinese songs too).

Thanks for another great reaction Wally! I agree, it would be worth going back and watching more of Dimash on The Singer in 2017. Every song he sang on The Singer was absolutely fantastic and all are well worth reacting to, except maybe for Up Town Funk, which was only OK. It was bouncy and fun but it didn't have that confident cheeky arrogance of the Bruno Mars original. Dimash was younger and more innocent then 😂
He developed more attitude later after getting some live concerts under his belt (and gaining lots of adoring fans 😆). Dimash loves Queen too. Just to let you know, on the Singer artists are supposed to change up the songs up from the original. The SOS you hear now, is the way they arranged it on the Singer. Before 2017, it was slightly different. Great Reaction! And Dimash has sung a few Queen songs over the years, but mostly as an ensemble.
