For anyone doing the .75 inch Rough Country leveling spacers in the front, DO NOT REMOVE THE TRACK ARM BOLT. I just did mine on a vehicle lift but it can easily be done with jack stands. The hardest part of the job is reinstalling the track bar bolt. Without a friend and various size punches, or maybe a well placed ratchet strap, your going to be fighting this bolt a long time. But you don't need to. The gladiator has 2 upper control arms and 2 lower. This will keep the axle in line when going up or down NO MATTER THE DISTANCE OF TRAVEL!. Taking out the track bar bolt as per the instructions will cause more head ache then to just leave it in and get a pry bar to pull down on the axle when removing the springs. It is easly done with one hand and I'm not a big guy. DONT REMOVE THE TRACK BOLT, save yourself the headache.
Excellent! Thank you for the video. I was hoping I could do it without a lift. Going with a Road Armor front bumper as well so should cure the rubbing issue.
i have a sport JL and the first mod i did was remove the splash guards from the bumper. 8 screws and they are no more. they don't help at all with the MPG i had 24.9 before i took them off and i was at 24.9 after i took them off. i put Falken Wildpeak AT3W 285x70 r17 on my jeep and its a perfect tire size without lifting it at all. my wheels are 17x9 -6mm with a 4.76 back spacing.
Thank you for your video! Very educational and I too got the max tow package on my sport. Do you have any updates on your sport truck or recommendations on lifts or tire upgrades?
In case you want less tire poke and discover that a higher back space wheel will decrease your turning circle with 315/70r17 tires, 35x11.5r17 Nitto Trail Grappler MT(stated 34.76 diameter and on a 7.5 wide wheel 10.8 -11 inch width) would be a great fit on 17x7.5 wheels but my favorite size would be if they where made 35.1×11.4 or 285/85r16, 285/80r17 and 285/75r18(currently manufactured by Goodyear, Toyo, Maxxis, Nitto). Of corse a 285/75r17 on 17x7.5(17x7.5 method racing wheels are an option besides the various OEM wheels) are always a option.

The Max Tow package and Level 1 Rubicon are 95% the same truck. But sadly enough, the Rubi is still going to hold a noticeably higher resale and trade-in value. If you can find a brand new Rubi for less than $47,500, I'd buy it over a Max Tow at like $45K...Simply because of the resale value.
Edwin Kriegel - I got my JT Rubi for $49K out the door, taxes, fees, extra protections, the whole 9 yards. It has the Granite Crystal Metallic paint upgrade, 3-piece Freedom Top, AUX switches, and the 285/70r17 Mud Terrains Upgrades. Hard to beat that deal. 👍🏻
@@TroyPosey mine is a Granite Crystal Sport, max tow, spray in bedliner with soft rolling tonneau, Alpine speakers (although still only the 5" radio). I got factory running boards from FB Marketplace for $160, and the Granite Crystal Rubicon wheels for $360 (no tires), also off Marketplace. I read that the 7650 payload is based on the factory tire size on the sport and changing it with larger tires would drop it down to the same as the rubicon which is 7000.
Not exactly. Tow rating and payload is NOT affected by tires and wheels because tires are wheels are considered "unsprung weight" and the suspension doesn't have to carry them.
I ended up putting 34's (285/75's) on my Sport S MT, mostly because they don't stick out so much like the 35's do and don't kick up as much mud on the body. They also don't touch anything inside. I added a 1-1/4" front spacer later, but that was more for looks to level truck out better.
They're great tires. In that video I admittedly wasn't hammering the throttle. I could have and the tires would have done a better job, but we were alone with no winch so I was being conservative. Overall, these tires are wearing very nicely and are smooth on the road. I love them.
