It’s enjoyable to watch and I understand that all you guys with that big equipment are the ones that provide the wheat barley. Hey rice, and whatever else for this world, you are appreciated!

❤❤When I read the title, I was expecting Jordan’s backyard garden! My suggestion Jordan for your backyard garden would be to procure the polystyrene boxes market gardeners use for boxing produce. Usually they are roughly 18-24” wide, 24-36” long and 6-8” high. Fill 3/4 with soil, fertiliser and cover with mulch. You can start your seedlings in seedling trays and transfer to the polystyrene boxes when the weather warms. The advantage of the boxes over the raised beds is they are easier to move to the sheds if you are warned of adverse weather, especially hot dry wind storms/dust storms. You will need to make sure adequate drainage because wet roots rot. I usually poke holes in the bottom of the boxes for adequate drainage. I also lay out the boxes on hardwood sleepers or 2” x 4” ‘rails’ so weeds don’t sneak into the underside of the boxes. 💜💜
Came to this channel a while back to learn about cold plunging and watch a non-farmer learn. Zach didn't seem too enthusiast about being in the videos early on, but now is an integral part/player. You 2 present a really healthy relationship supporting each other the way you do.
May want just a couple of raised seed beds. Much easier and a drip irrigation will be less time consuming. good luck. You may want a product called New Skin, it's antiseptic like fingernail polish that covers a injury. I used to work in a machining center, lots of little cuts in solvents, sealed right over so it didn't sting. Also works good in the kitchen cutting onions can sting.
You two, make a great team! Enjoy seeing a young couple work together for a common goal. My wife has always been out helping me around our place for the last 38+ years, from cutting and burning brush, to filling holes in our gravel lane to hand packing grease in wheel bearing while I changed them out and home repairs. It's always nice to know you have a helping hand, if you need it.
This is one of your best videos yet. Tell Zach that after watching him work on the planter, I wouldn't be too scared to tackle one. BTW you're as lovely as ever.
REALLY? You think so. You just made my day! I loved editing this one but I thought people might think it’s boring! I appreciate you so much you are way too nice. I always love reading through comments because it reminds me that you guys are just like us and want to come along and it makes it all worth it! 😂❤
Excellent video!! I really enjoyed the engagement of Zack and the explanations of the working of the planter and and descriptions of the changes being made to it and why. Well done both of you!
Important job well done u2. Really enjoyed this video, always nice to see the work which goes on behind the scenes when not out in the fields. Thanks a lot. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Divide the garden in half and use raised planters on half and rows on the other half. The fabric was great and continue with fabric and clippings on top to weigh down the fabric. I have seen the worn out rubber tracks from farm equipment make nice raised beds if you can find some cheap or discarded.
The absolute, ultimate weekend present ❤ a longer video is everything i need right now. Can't watch it now but have to appreciate what coming in the next hours
Jojo, for ur seedlings, especially the slow stuff like the peppers, try using a hotbed. My mom used to always start her tomatoes inside of an old wooden window frame filled with good soil. Then it gets covered up with a glass window in a matching frame. It keeps the temp n humidity way up n boosts ur plant growth in early borderline weather. U will have to start lifting the glass just a little as it gets warmer so it doesnt get too hot. After the plants get well established u remove the glass completely. Then u transplant them out into the open when the time is right. Incidentally, u guys are really cool n doing a great job. We love your accent n voice n sunshine disposition. I grew up on a dairy farm in west central Mn n worked on a steep ground wheat/ cattle ranch in eastern Wa, so its always nice to see how u do it in Kansas. Keep on keepin on!
Thanks for sharing. I can not wait for planting season to start and see the whole process. Take care. Oh and I love seeing all your kitty cats. Im a fellow cat lover.
Hi Jojo, Zach! I was born at home, in our 50 acres of farm. My grandparents were farmers, however my point is seeing all these equipment you guys are using fascinates me because back home, as i remember, my grandparents, parents were using horses to plow the earth, not sure if i said that correctly. It's interesting to see modern technology.
Hey Jojo and Zack. Thanks for this video. Lots of maintenance to keep those monsters going but technology has no doubt made easier the way things were done 100 years and more ago. Hard to believe winter has basically blown by and Spring is a hop and skip away. Have a great day. 😊

Yes, you could say I'm hooked or your channel, and the whole concept of the story you are telling. I am particularly looking forward to your home gardening segments coming up because I suck at it. 😁😁😆😆🤣🤣😊😊
What I'd do with your pool garden is make it into a fun labyrinth of 2'+ tall X 4' wide raised beds. I'd put a 4' wide perimeter bed all around with entrances to the interior with 4' wide pathways and random beds throughout in a design and custom bed lengths you choose. I'd put a round raised bed in the middle, or all round raised beds in the center area. If you have gophers put hardware cloth under each bed and bring in weed seed free soil for the beds. I like minimum 4' wide paths so a cart or wheelbarrow can maneuver and it allows room for plants to spill over the sides and still walk around. Self Sufficient Me is a great channel here and his raised beds are right up your garden alley and he makes them himself. Your broken ice tub will fit right in, or leave it on your patio in a sunny spot for a mix of posies, culinary herbs and a salad garden. I start tomatoes, peppers, eggplant seeds in January in a heated greenhouse. Happy gardening!
Wow thank you so much! Thanks for taking the time to comment that it’s so helpful. I think I’m subscribed to self sufficient me but haven’t look at videos in a long time I’ll go check it out. I just want this to be as painless as possible. If you watched my vlogs last year I busted my butt and it felt like for nothing because it didn’t turn out the best and I was pretty sad. Thank you for being here appreciate you and I hope you have a good day!!❤
@@JojoSnow01 You're welcome JoJo. I know what a drag weeds are. Its a constant battle. In fact, you may want to put thick plastic on top of the hardware cloth at bottom of beds. Rhyzomes can grow a long way to find sunlight. I plant my paths in strawberry clover, to walk on barefoot, fertilize the soil and clover attracts bees and keeps the mud down. Prior to planting paths, I recommend hoeing to battle weed seedlings in paths. Keep the soil moist so they keep germinating until mostly gone. Then sow the inoculated clover seed so it will grab nitrogen from the air better and put it in the ground for fertilizer. I experimented with several clover varieties and the strawberry was the lowest growing (maybe other varieties that I didn't test) with cute little strawberry looking flowers. I did end up buying a Ryobi battery powered lawnmower to keep it mowed more like a lawn, which made the clover thick and beautiful. I'd let it grow out a bit to bloom and attract bees at times. 🐝
Need to checkout Border View Fram just did a video on rebuilding the hydraulic system yes you can keep that part an repair for the cost of o rings a lot cheaper

Great video explanation of how a modern planter works, Zack. Does the phone app for monitoring the other planter work over wifi or Bluetooth? I would think wifi as Bluetooth is pretty glitchy. I hope you demo it during planting season. I quit farming in the latev90's and having used computers extensively for record keeping of cattle, I transitioned over to IT Consulting for small businesses. Looking back now, I wish I had specialized in agribusiness.
Zack and Jordan I have a deceased long ago relative who came to Oregon on a wagon train. Daniel Best on my mom's side of the family, she was the best. The Best Farm Equipment Company made the first Combine by combining a thrasher with the tractor.
