Ball players trying to play good enough to win but not good enough to get countered is a funny concept.
It's sadly true as a ball player I've played games where we rolled first 2 fights and thought to myself "i need to get less kills so they don't go counter comp"

As ball, I start each game testing the water, which usually gets me killed first 2 fights but makes the enemy not want to switch for me
Dude I stg if I get 2 kills in the first team fight I'm like 'oh shit' and I look on the scoreboard for a sombra or cree on the other team :>
It doesn't matter if Mercy is good or not. I see two in every game I play anyway.

I'm a mercy main too but fr literally every game there are like 2-3 people (not including me) who bought the rose gold bundle and are showing off the name cards/icons. So even though mercy is pretty bad people are just playing her because of the skins

For me it's. Orisa/hog, pharah, Sombra/cassidy, and ana. Literally the only comps I expect to play against. they will ultimately swap to those because I shaft them with DF😂

The breast cancer skin has been bringing out the mercys and I gotta say it's not a very pleasant experience lol. Just to clarify I'm happy so many folks bought the skin to help out with a noble cause, BUT I still don't think that it makes me a monster for not being thrilled that every game I gotta have a mercy on my team when the character blows hot ass through a straw you know? Like every other mode go nuts but in ranked? idk chief.
I usually play with DPS friends and we go pharamercy which typically works. (I feel bad for the other team-)

Overwatch has some of the most fun movement in a multiplayer shooter and instead of balancing around skillful movement they just up the health and fovus the whole game around healing and positioning n shit

It seems like these streamers are afraid to talk negatively about Mercy because of the amount of the playerbase that one tricks Mercy. Like half the playerbase is a Mercy one trick.
Yeah and add on to the fact that a hitscan like McCree is supposed to be able to deal with her better than others. A lot of the roster just has a hard time dealing with her when she can move so fast and often with little skill required

@devanmenttrup6203 the reason tanks suck is because you either wipe and don't have fun, or get obliterated and have no fun. For high rank players (I consider myself one of these, although not in this game) stomping an enemy team gets hella boring after a while. Also tanks are just boring to play. Nothing much happens as tanks, just point and shoot. Again don't play this game that much, but I watch some content

As a ball main i think ball is one of the most unhealthy heroes in this game right now, the people he counters don't get to play the game if the enemy is on ball and ball doesnt get to play against the people who counter him. Every hero in the game is either a target for ball, a counter to ball, or should be ignored by ball. He has no neutral matchups that will ever happen unless one team is down players

As a mercy player this might be a hot take but I think blue beam and rez should be reworked into something new or have the community crafted rez be her normal rez. Depending on what blue beam and rez are reworked into then they should do valk as well.
As a mercy player im totally up for a rework. Mercy seems to be in a state where she cant be buffed bc of rez and blue beam, but it also isn’t a solution to nerf her. The whole idea of pocketing isnt really fun too, I even feel guilty pocketing my pharrah 100% of the time lmao.
i don’t think this is a hot take, a lot of mercy players want her to be reworked or wouldn’t mind them changing rez if it meant that mercy would get compensated

It feels impossible to balance Mercy. You either have her as she is now where she's borderline useless at a high level or you make her halfway decent and the 85% of low and mid level players complain for years on end.

You can't buff mercy because her whole design is to make op dps even more op and unkillable. It's true for every season, pharah, cree, soj, ashe etc. It's extremely obnoxious and people definitely over exaggerate how bad she is, someone must be paying something good to flats to say mercy and dva are bad every single season.
Dmg boost and rez are so stupidly strong and her heal beam takes no aim and no reload so a 100% uptime making dueling her pocket without a mercy yourself borderline impossible compared to other supports as you can't bait anything out of her. Realistically the best solution to making her better would be a rework to everything but her movement.
A good rework idea would be a combination of the 2 custom patches, the creator one and the mirrorwatch patch, where dmg boost is the rocket things so she isn't just standing behind a wall and actually doing stuff, this would also allow for higher skill and better movement as she would be dpsing instead of just running away and would allow for her to be the first sort of flying support hero that can actually do stuff with it. Rez being the necromancy style from the creator patch would make the ability less obnoxious as if you put your resources, cooldowns, ults and 1 member of your team into killing a hog just for her to pop valk and get a guaranteed raid boss respawn at full health and cooldowns, it would help tip the fight in her teams direction without it being broken. Buffing mercy would probably break the whole game into no one wanting to play it in her current state and they have the changes I suggested already designed and implemented so it would take very little work with probably a couple small changes.

Her Rez isn't even OP. Once you Rez someone, you have to wait almost 30 seconds to do it again

@@trisfaleel rez could have a minute cooldown and it would still be op because it's literally for using about once every few minutes not off cooldown, but sometimes it is able to be, and that makes it even more stupid.
Dmg boost has no place as a regular ability in the game, it is giving someone a discord orb against everyone on the enemy team without a cooldown from 1 second in, it can't just be nerfed. These abilities are so fundamentally awful, and gate keeping mercy from the potential she could have as a actually interesting hero in the game. Also have you ever played tank? There is like only pretty much hog, mauga and dva (point blank) that can out dmg mercy beam without aimbot, you can barely buff it because it's on the breakpoint of being insane

And because that, i propose following rework: reduce the pull range, but pull more often. Additionally make pull need to have a pre-placed thing. Now he can heal less without beeing shit, he cant ruin your plays quite as effective, whether you are an enemy or a teammate and you could probably make it so he doesnt have his heal-jump, but can pull himself, so you can force that cooldown out by attacking him. And that we are far, we can also say he can only pull to the plattforms, and that is one ability, which includes, lifting it up, giving him more versatility, and we made him use one ability less, by that, so now we could give him anotherone, maybe of offensive nature
I think the main problem with tank is counter picking, im a zarya main and the ammount of times i wanna play zarya juat to have a winston or a rein thrown in my face is rough
It feels like if your tank gets counter picked the whole play style has to change to help them more, cancel out the other tanks abilities so to say
See with zarya it depends on your dps at that point, you can just bubble them instead of yourself and play more passively, you’ll be charged and the enemy tank should be burst down
I feel like Zarya mains deserve this though

I was good with Cass since I've main'd him since like season 6. But for some reason this season I am just awful, can't hit shots or explode. Every game being against a genji is annoying but that was the case previously too. And I don't know where all the absolutely cracked Cass players have come from. Sometimes they're a smurf (not often, that's usually other heroes) or sometimes they just have 3k hours. Pretty sure I had 2 games in a row against one using a triggerbot despite not noticing any chearters in my previous time playing OW.
As I said partly a skill issue on my part
Probably ranked reset, it pushed a lot of people down a little so you are probably playing against better players than before.

Bro genji is in need of some buffs far out either he gets blade dmg buff or shuriken buff they completely ruined his break points by increasing everyone's health and not giving him a compensation byff for instance it could take up to 4 slashes to kill one cassidy if he rolls at the right time.
My main problem with support aside from the best 3, is it feels like they're flattening unique support gameplay and different play styles, and they don't seem to have a clear vision of what support does. A lot of the utility focused supports suck, and finding Moira utility got cancelled. So I don't think it's utility. They nerfed burst heals, and the DPS passive makes the high heal characters focus on heals. The low heal characters just don't heal enough through the dps passive. So it's not healing. They're still nerfing supports survivability, so it's not staying alive forever. And future supports will have less mobility, so it's not even zoom zoom simulator.
It’s really sad that mercy been bad, she is not receiving no help for the past 3/4 seasons. She had the mythic and a lot of other skins I have all of them but I can’t really use them because it seems like I’m trolling every time I play her. She’s just being ignored. It’s sad and frustrating. (actually bought the skins, hoping that she’s gonna get better anytime)

Hot take: Kiri suzu should work like carnage where cleansing a debuff reduces the cooldown. This punishes use for random imort spam and encourages using it for cleanse or saving it for big moments.
Sure, if you make it 21 sec cd and give like 1-1.5 for debug cleanse. It heals and gives invulnerability.
Torb C Tier ?? This is absolutely bewildering to me. What to do what to do… oh I know I must bring torb up to S+ tier. I am going to apply to blizzard and bug torb secretly watch carefully to the torb meta coming 😀
Mercy once again didn’t get a buff. She 100% needs it and she is by far the weakest support. No utility, team reliant and No reliable damage.

Rez, even plat players can cancel that shit lmao, I on fucking Ball can cancel rez easily. You have to be basically either in Valk or the enemy team ignores you for some reason. And her low healing (low due to the DPS passive and her single target healing) makes her not even good at keeping people alive. She's definitely the worst support.
@@accuratememin yes, rez can get canceled sometimes if you go for ones in stupid spots, but it’s still useful. you’re forgetting about the times where mercy can pretty much just get a free rez on a widow in an uncontestable high ground spot or from way behind a wall because the range can be ridiculous. ball is a bad example, most characters can’t reach mercy and CC her out of the max rez range nearly as fast as ball, he’s genuinely good at that. obviously if it’s a brawl or dive comp then mercy will be unlikely to get a rez off. she has always been more poke oriented.
damage boost is only single target, yeah (outside of valk), but it is still very unique and powerful and has no cooldown. and as for the healing, not gonna argue about that, it sucks, she’s garbage at keeping people alive. she is a weak support for sure, but “no utility” is not one of those weaknesses, that would be more of a weakness for like moira, illari, or brig. biggest issues are the garbo healing and lack of damage which kinda obligates her to just dmg boost pocketing a good dps
Mercy is hard to balance because she's too easy. Anyone can play her. Her rez is either easily able to happen or impossible. On poke you can guarantee. On dive it's not gonna happen. Damage buff can break chatacters if messed with wrong. What can you possibly buff about her without making her a brain dead problem?
The game is better when weaver is bad, but he needs a slight rework what an awful hero design

Did you play early overwatch? I think it was pre-2019 that they reworked Torbjorn and got rid of his level 3. Good times. That's where it came from.

Hanzo feels horrible to play right now, and if a character is not fun to play, they are NOT in a good place and should be changed.
As a high rank Hanzo main, I agree with you about Hanzo. He isn't all *that* bad in terms of damage *numbers*, but he feels like ass to play. He's kind of ok, until you start running into higher HP targets that can outpoke or outmaneuver him. Before, it was a question of skill in winning those engagements, but now you just don't have a chance.
As far as feeling like ass goes, think of it this way: they took a projectile sniper, which appeals to a very certain type of player, and you turned him into a tank buster. This is like taking Doomfist and turning him into Mauga. Hanzo's shots are not easy to hit, and if you hit a headshot and that target lives, or worse kills you, you will feel cheated every single time. As for myself, I have stopped playing him in ranked, because it is rarely, if ever an enjoyable experience.
Hanzo players get upset because they don't want to hear anybody say Hanzo is ok, because they take it to mean he'll stay the same way as he currently is. He's also not good, he's just not terrible - this is completely different.
Most Hanzo players would much rather the hero is mid but fun, than decent but boring. I am in this camp as well. They could completely delete Storm Arrows, give us our one-shot back and I'd be happier than I am now.

The biggest change i want for mercy wont even help her, i just want her damage boosted to count as her damage. She boosted it, she created that damage, its hers, she earned it!! How dare you steal that from her??? I wanna feel like i contributed more than 20 damage the entire match xD
This is I think the 26th or 27th season of Mercy being bottom of the pile and she still hasn't been buffed KEKW. She had a brief trip to the middle of the pack during Season 3 of OW2, but aside that, her last actually good state was like pre-Baptiste launch in OW1. Idk how hard it is to buff a character that has been shit this long but it actually feels targeted (mostly because it is, which is stupid)

@@kio9906 Nah dw, I've long moved on from OW, haven't played at all since like September last year. I only keep up with the media and random posts to see if it's improved at all or not, which from the outset it doesn't look so.
You don’t understand how miserable the game becomes when mercy is strong. Damage boost just breaks characters, rez can be a win button, and has strong movement. Also the character requires zero mechanical skill to get value, at least bap has to aim at the floor with lamp.

cass will go down in usage when pharah and echo go down, currently soldier and ashe are a bit too squishy to handle them while cass just has enuff hp to maybe survive to win a duel....

I'll never forget a Mauga i was against that kept running into our team w his charge & killing everything, the thing is he should've never been able to play the game I had a Dva, Sojourn, Bastion, & I was Ana. I always anti'd him as soon as he used overdrive but my bastion always wasted turret or had awful positioning while my Sojourn had no thumbs & my Dva on her own adventure Gold is the rank where i had a rein NOT want lucio speed, a Echo that ONLY wanted heal beam no dmg boost, & a teammate that said why am i playing widow on Circuit Royal...Metal ranks are something else man

I used to be Mercy one trick and Lifeweaver was my 2nd pick. The moment they fell into being worst supports in the game was difficult for me to switch into some meta picks like Kiriko and Ana because I had problems hitting things as Ana and Kiriko was just not fun for me at all... now it's even worse as I hate and I can't play Bap, Ilari is so stupid boring for me and Lucio is just above my abillities to play him. Most likely worst support meta for me right now so I'll be probably moving to main DPS... would go for tank as well buut yea it feels bad playing it :/

I think they should have him put a pedal over top a player before being able to just pull. That way you can see if the player wants the pull or not. That way it’s a better chance for a smoother pull.
Issue, this makes it so that the weaver isn't the one able to skillfully snap his teammates away from danger
this means he'd be submitting a formal request to pull them, and then he'd get to pull them in 2 business days when they accept it

I think a great tool maybe is to have cancellation maybe. Like you go to pull and if you press it again, it will let go.
I don’t know. I’ve just learned a lot with other heroes that I’ve naturally just have gotten good at pulling at the right time.
For me I VERY rarely get people who complain about my pulls.
The hero I will VERY rarely pull is Mauga.
If I know he doesn’t has his E, I’ll pull him.
Other than that, I have to just trust my tanks to make space.

OR, if I’m paying attention to my team, if he has ult, I won’t pull possibly because he’ll use ult to heal himself and come back and stay in the back lines to make plays
@@Weightsss yeah but sometimes I will pull doom even he has ult cause doom can still die before he presses his ult but that’s on rare occasions but I always keep track of cooldowns and ults if I’m in 5 stack I will ask if they have there cooldowns or not or if there about to ult

One problem is the homogeneous passives. They just lazily splash the same passive across the class without even thinking on how it affects each character. The reliability of applying the dps one for example is vastly different between ones like Bastion and Sym vs ones like Pharah and Junkrat. They made a similar mistake back in WoW when they started making all the classes basically the same with the health changes.

The self heal was what they gave him for having a stationary turret mode. Unless they rework him, we won't see it again unfortunately.

It's crazy how the ranking depends on the rank. I feel like in metal ranks, Mercy is S-Tier, because everytime I play ranked, nobody is able to kill the enemy mercy and because it is metal rank, the person who Mercy is pocketing is unkillable too.
As a Hanzo main i entirely agree with that ranking and your reasoning. Like playing him sucks right now because the assassin playstyle isn't what it once was, but i won't say he's not objectively strong, especially if you bend to playing the Reapzo playstyle.
I'm actually worried about the Hanzo changes they mentioned in the Spilo interview, because if the only thing they do to change him is give him back his one shot, he'll definitely become overpowered due to Storm Arrows and how easy it is to hit headshots now.
Like as fun as it would be to run around deleting everyone i come across, that would get boring pretty fast and I don't want my fun to ruin someone else's experience playing the game. I also don't want his already bad reputation to be worsened by players who just start playing him because he's OP.
If they buff his damage they need to also nerf storm arrows and either revert the hit box changes back to pre-season 9 or limit the one shot's range to like 5-10 metres or something like that.
For all I care, if he can get the one shot back, I don't mind if they change the arrow box to pre season 8 and remove storm arrow for a new ability. If they don't entirely remove storm arrow, maybe make the count 2 or 3 so he doesn't melt tanks. No one likes playing the reapzo playstyle and right now hanzo gets too much value from storm arrow and too little value when he doesn't.

Since kirikos release she’s been consistently C tier or around that. Nothing has changed with Ana AND SINCE THE HEALTH POOL CHANGES SHES BEEN WORSE. Everyone has mutually agreed that she’s been worse since she can’t kill anyone. She still can’t 3 shot a tracer right? And that was one of her nails in the coffin. Sorry flats, I truly love you man and I think your a great representative of the the tank role and genuinely have a similar mind set to me, but this one is wild and it sparks a bigger overall issue I have with the influence you all have as creators. Nothing major has happened to make Ana good. Just because Korea uses Ana doesn’t mean we should be too, because I honestly don’t understand how EVEN THEY can use her. She’s insanely squishy and overall just a weak and free kill.
How to fix Mercy: Increase her healing, copy over the Mirrorwatch mechanic of her right click being her pistol. Removing damage boost means you don't have to balance around it
Agree, make boost a temporal buff to the target, 3 - 4 second of 15% -20% of boost and 10- 12 second cooldown. And play with it the next season

As a Cass main since launch ow1, I'm absolutely loving the feel of his kit and solidified place as anti dive/peel brawler. I hope that if they want to bring him down some, they lower the size of primary fire or lowering his health a tiny bit to bring more skill expression in mechanics or positioning with the same ceiling
I used to main cass, but i agree he requires some sort of nerf so that way he isn’t so braindead to play/play against.
I’d say nerf his fan the hammer a bit more. With a roll you just walk up to a tank and shred 80% of their health by yourself

@@Dashx64 he needed the health way back when when 200 hp was the norm and several characters had combos that deleted you, but in the modern game almost none of those exists anymore and Cass has more than enough time for a skilled player to get a fair fight in even when being dived. In addition, Cass's time to kill didn't get slowed down at all by the hp changes, he just needs to land two headshots. That got made significantly easier by the projectile changes. So yeah, I think that Cass should see a very slight nerf so that he can remain a skill expression hero and not a no brainer pick and play
I really think the only way to balance tanks is up survivability and lower damage or vice versa. You can’t have damage and defense. So it’s really what you want more. Tanks do have damage right now. Idk if it’s a hot take but it’s my take.
