You beat us all to it!
I heard it in my brain before I finished reading the comment 😅
His vocal fry is on point.
@@enterprisesoftwarearchitect hit the bell to enable notifications ;)
@@laynedoe3455 do you hear it randomly in your brain throughout the day, yet? I do lol
“The March of scientific discovery….”
Reviews February 🙇🏻🙇🏻
Hahahahahhahaha that’s gold
I've been away for 35 days but I'm back now and loving these new videos!!
A wooden transistor? What's next, pine cone internet? I find myself narrowing my eyes suspiciously at the implications of sasquatch technology.
You've found the secret.
Immediate like every time I start a JMG video. Been here almost seven years and I've never regretted my likes for his awesome, informative videos! 👍❤
This is the way
This is one of the best podcasts to listen to while drifting off to sleep. Always a unique, open minded take on observations in the astronomical realm.
Actually you shouldn't do that. Apparently YT hasn't been counting likes given before at least a minute of the video has been watched for some time now.
Keeping me sane at work yet again John. Thank you!
Top notch as always JMG. Much love.
Love you so much. Sending your way.💕
Right on time for bedtime 😊
Perfect timing. 👍 I've learned so much about science listening to this UA-cam channel. About Earth, the Solar System, Exoplanets, dark holes and much much more. Thanks again JMG. 🙏🙏🙏
Love the round up episodes
The thumbnail image brought back some memories. Living in Florida, I got to see many Space Shuttle launches, including the very first and last ones.
The first launch i got to see up close and in person was Challenger, in 1986. I was 10 and we just moved to very close to the cape. Close enough that it looked like pieces were going to fall on me.
STS-95, when John Glenn returned to space was my last launch.(I live in Nassau, Fl.) I had just finished THREE 18 hour days of working a stage for a rock show, and I wanted to sleep for about 18 hours! Nope, my fiancé packs us up and off we go, and I had COMPLETELY forgotten about it, until we got there. I moaned and cried. Then I was 12 years old again, and ready to go! Everyone just laughed at me! True story! :) I have the team pack decal of STS-125 on this very workstation I'm on right now! That was my very last official STS team decal.
Thanks
I'm taking hope from #9, AI and antibiotic resistance, which is a particular concern to me as a Surgical Tech for 35 years. Trying to get my workplace to stop buying Antibiotic hand soap. Washing it down the drain is just making the bugs stronger, which would eventually kill us all.
That antibiotic soap is probably akin to Neosporin. You aren't washing penicillin down the drain.
You're a brave man taking on the administration. 😂
Bro you are one of my fav go to space channes!!
Reminds me of the old Eso cast stuff back in ~2011
Fascinating discoveries indeed! Thanks a bunch, John! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
When I saw "atmospheric metal" my mind immediately thought about Anathema, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride and other similar bands.
I love the update videos. Thanks boss.
This is truly one of my favorite channels! Freshest content ever!
Love your videos John!
Love these top 10s every month . Thank you !
I love Redwoods so much; it would be fantastic if you could interview a scientist familiar with that wonderful species--Sequoia Sempervirens!
Thanks for the video, John!
Wooden trasistors. Fascinating !
Absolutely love the animal comments on stone tool use
Sometimes I think I have a wood computer.
Love it!!
Always great. Love this vid.
Quantum tunneling is mostly a nuisance in integrated circuits, one of the biggest obstacles to shrinking transistor sizes even further.
The current 3 nm process should be compared to the atom size of silicon which is 0.2 nm, a transistor is not many atoms wide and electrons that tunnels to places that they aren't supposed to be is a bitch to deal with.
The actual transistors are larger than 3 nm, closer to 50 nm, but the issue still remains.
I love this channel, thank you for what you do
Hi!
Hi!
Always awesome videos
Nice one John. TFS, GB :)
Got a chuckle out of the "talking animals". Keep it up.
Thank you JMG. This evening, i paired you with a delicious bowl of Cheerios
Thank you.
Loving these monthly summaries.
Thanks. The treesistor: now THAT'S sci-fi! tavi.
Treesistor. Good word.
Always happy to see you videos. If it takes a few days then I always check your channel if I didn’t miss one. And believe I never did. 😂 great work I learned a lot and also very nice to hear your theories. 😄🤜
Discovery, creative ideas and conceptual thinking are hard to come by these days. Thank you for helping us faithful, science-aligned people keep our eyes and minds looking forward.
It’s surprising how little we know about our own solar system.
10 already? Quick work!
I notice that over time JMG's videos are getting better and better in terms of text, Information, flow, ideas, humor and every other aspect. Thank you, John and take care.
I listen to your videos to go to sleep, but I always find myself fighting sleep to finish listening 😂
Right when I’m going to bed 🎉love it!
He does that intentionally for us. He knows. 🌓
I love that picture Huygens took on Titan so much. Thanks JMG.
I really enjoy your videos. Was wondering what your top ten things that humanity, and our planet should be remembered by. Also, where is the best spot to put a time capsule of the "Pale Blue Dot"?
favorite channel on here 👍🏻
You are by far the most interesting and intelligent content creator on UA-cam. Two thumbs up from This GUY!!
A wooden transistor and electronics embedded in plants? Now that's mindboggling. Imagine a forest full of almost invisible sensors, damn.
I think this is the year for you man. A lot of subs incomiiiing
Good video
my most watched youtuber. So much respect for this man’s content.
Necessity is the mother of invention.
I live in Brazil on the border of (Paraguay) and Argentina, the birds that you claim to be extinct. I have a family of them that visit me every so often they’re beautiful.
Ayooooo, new techno signature just dropped! Atmospheric Alumin(i)um
👍
It's weird to hear that metal particulates in the atmosphere are a problem. You just intuitively think that metal particulates would precipitate out very rapidly due to their relative weight compared to most non-metals you'd expect to find in the upper atmosphere.
JMG-I wonder how often you experience existential dread, or moments where existence, the vastness of space and time seems so overwhelming that you may even become dizzy enough to need to sit down. I have a lot of these moments, they are in some ways truly terrifying, and I love them as much as anything. Your channel has made it so much worse, and I thank you for it.
I'm very stoic about that. It used to be several times a day. But now I spit at existence. I do battle with it. Battle.
Interesting, the vastness of space and time are positives to me, just think of what might be out there!
Maca-cakee, lol. Somewhere near Mississippi and Tenesse 😂😊
Memphis is just a few hours away, but I was actually shooting for the Bantu root word. I probably got it wrong, but that's where I was aiming, which is my usual practice.
@@JohnMichaelGodier I think Macaque is a French word (Im French) not Bantu. Nice try JMG 😅 Great video anyway 👍
You don't have indigenous monkeys in France. You just borrowed the word Macaca from the Portuguese and mispronounced it. The Portuguese got it from Bantu. They too mispronounced it.
@@JohnMichaelGodier Is this reply A.I.generated? Say something about Israel, just to prove it. Your replies just make no sense, sorry
No, I'm reading my comments over morning coffee waking up like I always do. You borrowed the word from the Portuguese and it actually has really horrible connotations in English which is why I shot for the original Bantu.

Good oysters. Pretty simple. ::slurp:: salty. Good oysters. We all love space Jean Michel. It’s just amazing that oysters.
Otters use stones to break open muscle shells regularly, on their bellies!
They do that with abalone more than mussels, mussels have thin shells they can open easily.
Otters prefer weak mussels

Bro February 2024 just started 😭
(Love your show)
Perfect timing lol
I honestly would be lost in life without JMG uploads.
I get the feeling Eryn or the racoon got to the keyboard for a bit there :)
Te amo jhon micheal sos un capo, saludos desde la Antártida
Maybe all the metal in the atmosphere will shield the earth from global warming like the Meer reflection project!
❤, I would like to ask you a question about the new discovery of what has been termd "Old Smokers"; could this be a type of variable star that has a helium fusion process that does not keep the carbon created in the core but it escapes or enters the surface and escapes in the large eruptions?
Thank you for your work 👍🏻.
Did you see Anton Petrov’s vid on that subject ?
Hello sir, can you get one of the folks from the Sol foundation soon? Dr Nolan perhaps? Would love your lines of questions.
You have a treat coming soon on Event Horizon :)
Awesome sir
Your whole channel could be classified as a treat!
Electrolytes, what plants crave!

Has anyone seen any monoliths lately? 👀
Next month will be the "March of scientific discovery."
I can’t believe it. How do you know the earth years? Also the month too. We nearly come in peace. Look right down the tube…..
I can't help but find myself wondering about Titan...and with it's tidal core energy, thinking how there may be "cold-slow" life-as-we-don't- know-it on the surface, with hot-fast life-as-we-know-it in the interior...and just how they might interact...
...could make an interesting Bob Forward style story too, but I'm too lazy to write it 😉
I don't understand how machines are allowed to be deployed into the environment without plans for their eventual breakdown to be in place
That gorilla looks like it smelled something funny.
it reflects light. Maybe we don't want to fix it.😅
That face animation never fails to piss me off.
I hope next month's scientific discoveries are as uplifting as these, also hoping the MAD-theory doesn't get put to the test soon.
Right in time
Left upon time.
Would like to see an episode on catastrophic disclosure...
Hotly contested:)
Tool using macakey's? Maybe they'll start to use fire and learn to make casadillas.
John, I have an unrelated question. Your personal channel in total has 509 videos (and I like all of them) but your playlist with the title "The whole channel" has only 260 videos. Why?
Short answer is UA-cam. It unticks boxes every time they revise the system. So I'll make a video, choose the proper playlists, and then six months later the boxes somehow get unticked and the video often drops out of the playlist without me knowing. So once a year, I have to go through them all and curate everything. Not a short process for over 500 videos, and while I have a youtube representative I can contact, they never seem to be aware of or understand the problem. An even more problematic issue is that youtube actually unsubscribes people from channels without warning. I hear it from viewers all the time wondering how they got unsubscribed. All of this has been going on for several years, and they haven't fixed it.
@@JohnMichaelGodier Sounds like a real mess. Especially the second part about unsubscribing people without warning. I hope that AI will help avoiding and solving these problems in the near future.
Shouldn't the "March of Scientific Discovery" wait until next month? 🤔 {j/k} Love your videos as always JMG! 😄 Currently singing the praises of the Noble Bard Galaxies! 🧑🎤
Consistently brain tickling context
.3.~
I think JWST should REALLY explore this galaxy more. Not only do I believe this to be the most similar in structure to the Milky Way, I think this may be our best bet yet of finding life. Just something about the clarity and design make it stand out amongst the other spiral galaxies… 9:11
interesting pronunciation on the monkeys name!
Why did the video go black after the pigeon part?
The cyber-druid future has me more excited than is reasonable. 🌳
This is one of the main reasons I have started my business. To reduce the amount of satellites de orbited
I have never heard of a heavier element beyond 118
Ive always heard macaque pronounced mah kak, i was shook
One annoying thing about human discoveries- they too often seem to involve us finding new ways that we’re polluting something 😅
It’s obvious that JMG is one of the few intelligent people left on earth because he said “there ARE” with a plural
Scientists just made a functional soil based battery for agricultural sensors! It's 64 times better than previous iterations
If mass is just condensed energy, the information is still intact. If black holes are said to make information irretrievable, then could dark energy be mass stripped of information? Is space-time itself just energy without information?
