The best pedal maker - a monster player - and as a bonus ......a really nice guy.
Thanks very much...but how much money do I actually owe you?
Right? - thank you Simon
(& Christine)
This is some of the best guitar playing I've heard all year. Wow.
Thanks so much Justin!
What a great pedal, demo’d by the best guitar playing pedal maker in the business.
Thanks so much!
Astonishing and very unique. Big fan of everything Simon makes. Not sure whether this, the Constable, or the Harlot is the best pedal I've ever heard. You could literally record an entire album of dozens of great, nuanced tones with just this pedal.
🤘👍🏿 Wowser. With the tone cap all the way right!! 🤯
Absolutely brilliant vid. Love the Artisan!
This sounds really good. I decided to learn how fuzz circuits work a while back. I came up with this simple circuit based on the Tonebender MK 1.5. I think by accident it turned out sounding great. I say by accident because I then decided to get fancy and made another one adding tone cap switches, bias etc. It all worked but I was never able to get it to sound the same as the first simple one when switched and biased to the same settings. I spent months messing with various values. I still have to revisit it to try to solve it. Maybe I just lucked out on two transistors that worked well together.
Incredible pedal, got it, can guarantee that everyone will finf tones that are unreal. It is prıducing amp sounds on its own. Mr. Jarrett’s note that it should see the guitar without anything inbetween is a must if you want the collection of unreal tones.
After all these years of playing electric guitar but not having studied pedals and how they affect your entire rig, I've come to the conclusion that Fuzz into a edge of breakup amp is my favorite overdriven sound! Who knew?😳 Man, that sounds so good!!!🎵🎼
Thanks Curtis!
@@PPIMV thank you, love your priducts and playing. Quick question: desert island 1-2 pedals to do 60-80s style guitar tones? I know it's all subjective but I do know my ear likes what you seem to like.
Jimi knew.
I'll be receiving my 1st Kingsley pedal in a few weeks, a Page.
I'll be ordering an Artisan soon after the Page settles in 😮
Owner of a Kingsley Squire D here, the best piece of gear i bought! On the waiting list for a Kingsley Page DS now. Simon does really know what he's doing. Everything about the Squire is well thought, i'm struggling to find a bad eq with it and i'm really picky with guitar tone, unfortunatelly more picky with my tone than with my guitar playing. Thanks Simon and Christine!
Thanks for this Simon. This was what I wanted to learn. Will call tomorrow to get on the list for one of these. Serious Eric Johnson vibe at the beginning and end Excellent
I was thinking the same: The intro definitely has an Eric Johnson vibe to it. Great tone and even better playing!
Glad it was helpful!
Just discovered your stuff and I love it. The tone is sonic bliss. As of yesterday I’m saving up for a Kingsley amplifier. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Jon!
You'll have to wait 10 years to get a Kingsley amplifier.
@@PPIMV whats the wait like on a Kingsley amp?
Killer tone and playing as always. I think I am going to transcribe the outro!
That was one of the best pedal demos I’ve ever heard! There is not a bad setting or tone on this beast! Love your playing Simon and your pedals are amazing!
Thanks David - glad you liked the demo!
WOW! That was amazing!!! Cool pedal and great playing! :)
Really appreciated Ian1eh!
@@PPIMV Simon, is this pedal usable in a loop switching system, that has a buffer at its input?....Not sure if the Artisan would need to go "before" it? Cheers!
@@ian1eh944 It needs to see your guitar directly, so if you put it in a loop, make sure that any buffer is turned off.
Man! I’m glad I’m already on the list. This one will be replacing one that I had pencilled in. So good!
Chupacabra?
Thanks RMosack!
Yah am on the list for the Artisan pedal
Sounds amazing Simon.
Much appreciated!
I need one of these!
Sounds spectacular!!! And great playing as usual Simon! I wish your pedals were available in Switzerland! So many I want to try!
Sounds absolutely incredible. It had those Fat, creamy Steely Dan-type tones. I'd love to hear this pedal with a Strat.
Hi Simon,
I will think about the Artisan for use with my hand-wired 6V6 Deluxe Reverb style 1x12 combo. I think they would sound great together. Thanks for this demo!
I am saving up for the Constable and Page.
Is the Page a good choice for boosting the Constable?
Would it be safe to assume that the Tone Cap knob is like a Varitone circuit??
wow my future fuzz for sure
Very interesting pedal!
Seems like an interesting tinkering tool for recording and overall for experimenting with different guitars and tones.
Is the Artisan handwired as well and could it also act like an additional gain stage and boost your typical 1959SLP or a Constable into Hot-Rod territory?
Yes it is hand wired, just like all of our pedals. It can be used like other OD/fuzz pedals into clean amps or amps set for edge of breakup. For actually pushing a plexi style circuit so that does the clipping I would suggest other boosts though.
This is pretty intresting to me Simon. Firstly it's so versatile that you don't have to commit board space to a one trick Pony. Secondly because it will pull those fat EJ meets David Grissom sounds without needing to be run into a cranked amp. When is it to be released?
Thanks Grant! I am currently making them as custom orders - subject to our usual wait list (approx. 7 months).
Sounds amazing Simon. So versatile. Do you plan to get a dedicated enclosure developed for this?
Yes it will happen. Thanks Brad!
Brilliant.
You gotta get one of these to Ariel Posen 🖖🏻
That’s a great pedal Simon. Every setting you demonstrated seems quite useable depending on the needs of the music.
Thanks!
Hi, when is this released? Sounds damn cool
It is available as a custom pedal that is subject to the current pedal wait list (approx. 7 months)
@@PPIMV So I just order it on your site?
I want one BAD!
This is amazing
I hear some money for nothin and boston rockman in there :)
