F@ck Yeah!! I love how you have the balls to come up with an idea and problem solve a solution on such an expensive kayak. I’m the same way. If I have an idea and I see the potential in something more I’ll do it. Good job my man!

That kayak is beautiful. I'm not a Hobie guy, but I can see, that's a fishing machine. I have my 2021 Oldtown 120, with my Minnkota, I finally received this past July. She's my 1st and last. No reason to ever upgrade. Good luck with your vessel bro, or investment as we all find out Lol.. 🙏 🤙🎣

Do you have a video update with whatever electronics you made this modification to your Outback mounted? I saw your video a while ago, because I was looking for a different way to mount my Garmin 93UHD, because it causes my 2019 Outback to list a little to the side because the unit is huge "I don't wear my reading glasses when I'm on my yak".

I just wanna say up front, I'm not hating at all. There are a lot of videos on my channel that would inspire this same question and I'm just genuinely curious; why? At one point I had a PVC gopro mount I made that went into the sail mast which is further forward than you've installed the bar and even that was in the way. I just cannot see any reason why I would ever want or need a bar there. What are you using it for?

I'm about 5'9. I set my drive peddles at #5 or #6. So it's perfect reach for me. I like the look of the PA12 & PA14 of the double screen lorance 9" for fishing. I find it beneficial for me that I can, not only reach up and use the bar for support. But also assesories, more attachments. Reaching forward to access my front hatch. Or mounting crab/lobster hoop nets. If drive/Rutter is inoperable a buddy can tie a rope for support to pull me for safety. For me it has no issues that bother me for kayaking. If you watch my recent video, I took it to Ocean Cove. I had my HDS Carbon 9" mounted on ram mount. And it was a blast. I was more impressed then skeptical about the front hrail. For people who maybe shorter (women) actually find it useful to grab when testing first time on waters. Lodi lake was a perfect place for all users to see it In action. It looks awesome in my eyes. I find it usfull to gran while standing up on my kayak by reaching forward and not slamming down on my seat while trying to sit. I know it's not a traditional thing for Hobie. But it's my kayak. And I love to custom things to my liking. Not everyone likes it. But I like it my lady who ride my kayak likes it. I'll post videos with my HDS carbon on it while fishing. It's like watching TV on a lounge chair with out turning your head to the left or right side. While trying to fish. Just makes my neck hurt over time.

That makes sense. I'm 6'1 and I think mine are on full reach. I didn't think about having the fish finder screen(s) there. I think as much as I use my front hatch anything there would irritate me though. I was really curious on the why, that's a good answer LOL. Tight lines brother.

@@PenguinOutdoors I have videos coming up. I will do a full on review on how everything still clears my sail mount and my front hatch. Even for emergency use. I can still use my front hatch to get to my beldge pump or so.
      Thanks brother tight lines.

I had one on my Wilderness System Ride 135 going across behind the seat. made a handy grab point when loading the kayak as well as a mounting point for a lot of things. being a paddle kayak, a front bar as well isn't a silly idea as I don't have pedals to worry about
