Another tip is for Kenton if you speak to him when hes on your ship your able to get a quest from him to raid the navy base which might be a little hard for lower levels but once you complete the quest it upgrades kenton into an elite quarter master. Theres also another quarter master that you can easily get in frostmil island, if you speak to the wizard in the tower after youve finished the story in frostmil he will give you a quest to complete his research once you complete his 3 quests (their really easy just collect ingredients) you have an option to recruit him, although he doesnt give any buffs and is only a rookie quarter master he allows you to enchant your stuff on your ship whenever you want
Does kenton have any quests for positive renown players? Or is that the only quest he gives. Edit: I find it a bit weird that kenton was a former navy member, and yet he makes u take over the navy base. Did they betray him or something?
Fun fact: the NPCs that offer little buffs around the maps ARE NOT technically quartermasters. They actually replace the crew members, and they have a claim limit of up to a third of the total crew count (1 for sailboat, 2 for caravel, 3 for ketch). They also can get upgraded with higher renown and also some galleons.

Correction at 3:54 those are a completely different kind of ship crew called deckhands. They are completely unrelated to Quartermasters as they require fame or bounty to be hired and have their own slot respectively. Quartermasters also seem to be more or less hired through quests as the 2 Quartermasters atm can be hired through quest and act as their own NPC as you can talk to them such as Kenton who can be evolved through a personal side quest of his giving more stats compared to before while Arizor will be able to enchant items for you on the ship when you talk to him.
You can also sell stuff to him as well for a bit of cash but be careful to not sell over the amount he has or else you will lose the items and the cash they were worth
Kinda wish there was a feature where your crew could attack enemy crew directly or a way to direct them to attack certain targets automatically, but with much worse performance so that the player would be able to contribute to the fight Edit: it would be nice for at least a lower deck in some earlier ships
As someone who thought they were very experienced regarding ships, (as I spent almost the entirety of my 30 hours to level 125 messing around with ships and upgrading it as much as I possibly could), I had no idea that was how crates worked. Thank you!
10:30 One of tthe big perks of being a criminal is that you don't need to buy crates (you can steal them) If you go from revenna to whitesummit (the criminal shipwright is there), you get 99 gal (and you didn't waste 50 on buying them either)
Alright so I’ve got a question for you guys, do you prefer the Caravel or the Ketch? Personally I prefer the Ketch because you get an extra quartermaster slot, 10 more sailing speed, and one more set of cannons along with way better cannon placement to aim at other ships. I don’t mind not having a battering ram.
i currently have a 5350 hp caravel and im able to deal 1325 dmg with the ram while clicking F, still havent enchanted it yet. i still have yet to actually enchant parts of my ships
Alright, alright, so lemme get this straight (straight?). 1. Get a crew so they can bang through the cannons as a gang 2. Get heavy cannons for extra penetration 3. Maneuver behind the enemy whenever possible so you can blow on their back 4. Ram the enemy from the side, HARD! 5. Get their ship sinking so they start trying to hop on your big boat 6. Size matters, as the treasure you get scales in value based on the size of distance covered
Go from Ravenna to Frostmill, it’s much easier especially since Redwake has a lot of structures that can slow u down and cause u to hit something and frostmill is the same distance just easier to get to
6:47 another strategy i use to kill higher level captains/quartermasters is to shoot at them with a musket, this will make them come to you without the rest of the crew joining in, this will both get them with some bonus damage with the shot and the freezing affect of the sea, then you could just finish off the crew
They should add an item thats similar to that roman device where it would latch onto a ship and turn it into a groundbattle, where your crew would fight their crew and you would fight their captain.
I highly recommend getting Kenton early game, not just because he's a free quartermaster but because he does show up later on in the game's story. So it's just a nice to see that exclusive stuff.
forgot to mention once your level 30 if you talk to the wizard in enchantment wizard in frostville or whatev and do his quest he can be your quartmermaster, he gives no buffs but u can enchant your weapons with him wherever you are

@@mrmoonlight1001 if you dig in the same roblox part you dont have to dig in it again, so just dig in different surfaces/textures (bushes, dirt, sand, etc.)
thanks for the tutorial this is ool, and another thing is that if you have a boat with sails,for those who don't know the wind direction is a double edge sword, it can make u slow or fast, u will see some lines in the air going in a certain direction thats the wind, u will go faster if you go the same direction as the wind cause it will push the sails and let you go really fast, but if you gothe opposite way u are going way slowlier, its a good realistic mecchanic and this game is just amazing
Excellent tutorial for Ship battles and more honestly. And it's the first time I've heard that deckhand stats actually increase in percentages I guess? Depending on both rarity and it's current level. I'm gonna have to re-evaluate my knowledge and see which is correct and which is wrong whilst plugging up some missing infos I might have forgotten or not noticed while im playing the game. U have to say that, the arcanium canons aand rams are ONLY the same element that u are, for examplr, if u are warlord u cant get a magma arcanium canon or snow arcanium RAM, u Will get a non Magic arcanium parts, also if u are an acid Mage u Will get acid cannons and rams, and if u are lightnlng u Will get lightnlng cannons and rams, so the other way to get another elements cannons and rams u Will have to trade with another person
Thank god you added an explanation to sinking ships, I was ship hunting and saw 2 players jump on those 2 pirate ketches and kill all the pirates and nada then killed both of them
I would say if you're doing cargo runs frostmill to Ravenna or the other way is better as you get 108 per crate and you don't have to navigate through the jaws which saves a lot of time
It seems like Quartermasters will be upgradeable through quests just like how they're obtained and the renown based crewmembers you can hire in most ports are actually deck hands and will just join the crew in place of regular crew members at the cannon stations. The difference between deckhands and quartermasters being how they're upgraded and how many you can have with deckhands taking up 1/3rd of the total crew on any given ship at MAX and a quartermaster count being dependant on the ship. Another difference would be how you upgrade them; at level 65 kenton offers a quest to upgrade his buffs and general character whereas to increase the buffs of your deckhands you just need to pay galleon sums and gain enough renown. Also this video might need an update with the additions of attachments (harpoons etc.), The brig coming soon (with a LOAD of features) and also how Quartermasters can now order the crew to unload any cargo on the deck of the ship for you which allows for faster sales instead of you being the only heavy lifting crewmember (though sadly they don't walk around, its just automatic selling in range of shipwrights)

As an old player of assasin creed: black flag, i was excited about a similar combat system and customisation system being added to arcane odyssey. Ship game-play is the second reason i'm playing arcane odyssey for (the first one being it's amazing story in a open world mmorpg) and it upsets me as well to see so many people playing this beautiful game without knowing how ships work. It also surprises me that some of those players that actually know how ship quartermasters work, actually have only Edward Kenton as quartermaster and not enizor that i believe to be one of the characters with the most interesting lore. I really like how there is finally a video explaining to all people how ship works on ao. I hope to see more content in the future talking about sip updates an ao in general.
I hope in the future we can board the ship and get our crews to fight the enemies' ships like Black Flag did, it was the sole reason for why i spent 40+ hours sailing around the map. It was fun as hell and i really hope vertex could add a similar boarding system
Imagine if you could order your crew to dock your ship for you, or when you die and you spawn near an area where your ship is nearby, order your crew to bring your ship to you.
For getting chest you must defeat player ships or npc ships? Btw the wizard of the ice island where you fight Iris can be a quartermaster too just complete all his quests
Please mention the Deckhands you can obtain around areas, it's easy for players who aren't super invested in the environment to just glance over the deckhand NPCs and not interact with them, which essentially nerfs your ship's potential. Also, you should describe what each stat does so players understand what they want to try and work for the most.
Cargo runs are generally much more beneficial for criminals cause you can just steal them plus you get a higher bounty which helps with recruiting good people on your ship… Also yeah xp. Did a huge cargo run from ravenna to whitepeak with 40+ crates, gave me like 2k galleons and leveled me up like 6 or so levels (level 94 after the cargo run before I was level 87 or 88) I did it in a server with a server poulation on 4 people.
This game has that AC4 blackflag feeling. Tradelands still takes the cake for the best ship combat game ever, because it has multi crewing and more inpdepth. However AO has cool features.
I don't find the distance between ships to be of much importance tbh, NPC ships fire once in a blue moon and you can dish out triple the damage they can in the same amount of time, so if you can't aim very well just ram the ship and start combooing shots at a close distance

I did a dumb thing; I used a crystal blast and shot it at the ship. Now, knowing I should sink it with the cannons first makes so much more sense. Kinda disappointing the NPC's don't man the cannons and you still need to use it yourself.
Nice good, but you left the deckhand/ travelers, who are random npcs who can be hired and are placed in the add-on slot, they only give more stats to the ship, but are a difficult to hire them because they ask 100.000 points of fame.
I wish clan wars existed. Imagine a clan war with around 5 ships fighting 5 ships. Or a fleet of ships vs. another fleet of ships. And all of them are players
You fight by using cannons, I fight by ramming my enemies at full speed then sailing around them before they can counterattack repeatedly until they sink in 3 hits. We are not the same.

i personally prefer the caravel to the ketch, the ketch is faster and more durable sure but the caraval is the only ship that can use rams which is extremely viable in ship battles
So this aint a full guide, ik this vid is 1 year old but u didnt mention that u can auto unload of cargo or chests with quartermaster. U also didnt mention that some rams can apply status effects on the enemy ships
You can also enchant cannons and other stuff to make it fire further or stronger etc. Not sure if you can upgrade them but still you should mentioned it since it can boost your ship decently
if you're good enough at dodging shots, your ship should never be below max durability since you repair automatically from spare parts from any ships you sink if you aren't that good, lost cargo is a way to repair your ship without having to pay, useful if you're as much of a cheapskate as me

If I’m in the sinking mood, I’ll go for a Caravel. Though the ketch is better for cargo runs due to its speed and size.
I like caravel for ship combat. Rams are just so convenient
Rams are so op with the 2k damage to ships but the ketch seems better for traveling

Sealed chests can also he obtained through a treasure map, and stranded sailors can give you maps in you're lucky.

It also surprises me that some of those players that actually know how ship quartermasters work, actually have only Edward Kenton as quartermaster and not enizor that i believe to be one of the characters with the most interesting lore. I really like how there is finally a video explaining to all people how ship works on ao. I hope to see more content in the future talking about sip updates an ao in general.
I hope in the future we can board the ship and get our crews to fight the enemies' ships like Black Flag did, it was the sole reason for why i spent 40+ hours sailing around the map. It was fun as hell and i really hope vertex could add a similar boarding system

If u have the funni explosive cannonballs, any ships hit by them will got their hull deleted by 80-50%

Imagine if you could order your crew to dock your ship for you, or when you die and you spawn near an area where your ship is nearby, order your crew to bring your ship to you.

Ravenna to Frostmill gives about 90 galleons per crate! Good tutorial, really helpful
too long, imma just get commodore kai stuck on a wall and use AOE moves, easy 100+ galleons each kill

For getting chest you must defeat player ships or npc ships? Btw the wizard of the ice island where you fight Iris can be a quartermaster too just complete all his quests

Tip: if you are hero it's harder to find sealed chests because you will have to look specifically only for pirate and assassin ships
Please mention the Deckhands you can obtain around areas, it's easy for players who aren't super invested in the environment to just glance over the deckhand NPCs and not interact with them, which essentially nerfs your ship's potential. Also, you should describe what each stat does so players understand what they want to try and work for the most.
Cargo runs are generally much more beneficial for criminals cause you can just steal them plus you get a higher bounty which helps with recruiting good people on your ship… Also yeah xp. Did a huge cargo run from ravenna to whitepeak with 40+ crates, gave me like 2k galleons and leveled me up like 6 or so levels (level 94 after the cargo run before I was level 87 or 88) I did it in a server with a server poulation on 4 people.
Still don’t know how to bank it tho…
This game has that AC4 blackflag feeling. Tradelands still takes the cake for the best ship combat game ever, because it has multi crewing and more inpdepth. However AO has cool features.

I don't find the distance between ships to be of much importance tbh, NPC ships fire once in a blue moon and you can dish out triple the damage they can in the same amount of time, so if you can't aim very well just ram the ship and start combooing shots at a close distance
i wish your crew took up arms and started fighting when pirates (or whoever you attack) start boarding your ship

Deckhands are just crew but with buffs, and sealed chest can be also gained via treasure charts.
When the boat combat gives you more dopamine than the actual combat of the game
Quick lil tip you can enchant some parts of your ship like the sail or cannon.
Don't miss out, gun pounder is also very valuable.
You can Ask the quartermaster to unload the ship for you with the crew
as a assassins creed black flag enjoyer, Arcane Odyssey just fills the good spot so dam well on every angle
btw you can park your ship infront of the enemy ship if they dont have a ram to shoot them
If you guys can't sink ships cuz it's too hard, new update features diving points, these can have sealed chests so use them to get better stuff for your ship

I did a dumb thing; I used a crystal blast and shot it at the ship. Now, knowing I should sink it with the cannons first makes so much more sense. Kinda disappointing the NPC's don't man the cannons and you still need to use it yourself.
The ship mechanics gives me flashbacks of Assasins creed: Black Flag and its beautifull for me.
Nice good, but you left the deckhand/ travelers, who are random npcs who can be hired and are placed in the add-on slot, they only give more stats to the ship, but are a difficult to hire them because they ask 100.000 points of fame.

I can’t believe I just missed like 5 sealed chests because I left the pirates for dead after I destroyed their ship
You fight by using cannons, I fight by ramming my enemies at full speed then sailing around them before they can counterattack repeatedly until they sink in 3 hits. We are not the same.

Light Cannonballs: Far range lower damage and faster
Medium Cannonballs: Medium damage Medium range
Heavy Cannonballs: Close ish range high damage

i personally prefer the caravel to the ketch, the ketch is faster and more durable sure but the caraval is the only ship that can use rams which is extremely viable in ship battles

Honestly I've chocked it up to this, Arcane Odyssey ship combat is bootleg Assassins Creed Black Flag combat, but with magic
So this aint a full guide, ik this vid is 1 year old but u didnt mention that u can auto unload of cargo or chests with quartermaster. U also didnt mention that some rams can apply status effects on the enemy ships
You can enchant rams, cannons, and sails btw
We need more ships that can equip rams. I prefer a choice to engage in glorious melee combat with my ship and a choice to blast them to pieces.
You can also enchant cannons and other stuff to make it fire further or stronger etc. Not sure if you can upgrade them but still you should mentioned it since it can boost your ship decently
if you're good enough at dodging shots, your ship should never be below max durability since you repair automatically from spare parts from any ships you sink
if you aren't that good, lost cargo is a way to repair your ship without having to pay, useful if you're as much of a cheapskate as me

Deckhands are not like quartermasters btw they are like extra crew you get that give stats
