As a former Flight Instructor I have to say something that you may not like. One of the cardinal rules for flying airplanes is ..do not fly close to the ground unless you are landing. This is a rule that was taught because so many people have died flying close to the ground. Birds, wires and other obstacles cannot be seen until it is too late. Of course it's "thrilling" to fly close to the ground. It is not thrilling to be the one to tell the loved ones of someone who has just killed themselves. There is a saying in aviation..."There are bold pilots and there are old pilots. But there are no old, bold pilots". I feel so badly for those who think because they have a "following" they have to push the limits of everything (and I mean EVERYTHING to please their followers. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks anyway. Don't you believe in yourself? Don't you want to live? Why are you doing this? Flying airplanes was a thrill in itself but I've always followed the rules which were usually created after someone died. I am now 64 years old. If I had died in my 20's or 30's I wouldn't have experienced the birth of my children or seeing them get married or even better yet ..the birth of my first Grandchild. I am now building a Timber Frame cabin in the mountains now for my wife and I. I wouldn't have experienced any of it had I not lived. Think about that next time you jump off a cliff and try to touch the rocks on the way down. Is it worth it?
How confident are wingsuit pilots that they won't hit something during proximity flights? I mean that was fucking close! Do they just develop a sense of what is too close and what isn't? I don't know if you could've gotten any closer, nice!
