- If you watched Minecraft videos in 2016-2017, there’s a chance--just a chance--that you stumbled upon some rising UA-camr who happened to be a hacker. He was widely controversial since, although he was a UA-camr who provided a level of entertainment value, he also did a lot of stuff that upset a lot of the people who came across his channel. This UA-camr got into some small wars with some big Minecraft servers of the time such as Hypixel, Mineplex, and Badlion.
One day, this guy woke up to see that his channel got terminated because of 35 community guidelines strikes. Ladies and gentlemen, today we’re talking about xTurtle.

@@soulplexis Server owners need people to support their server to keep them up. And a lot of them have made it their job. If someone is driving all of the players away then they are monetarily hurting them. No imagining needed here.

I used to be a Senior Mod on Mineplex. I remember he once made a video playing checkers against 'me', and if he won (which he did against the bot that was supposed to be me), then I would apparently give him a staff rank. It was a good laugh lol but does show the clickbaityness - the video was titled something like "I GOT STAFF ON MINEPLEX" or something

@@kazkifairman2001 Im really confused how mineplex runs stuff, usually senior mods on semi popular servers are the ones who handle the mod team, and moderate on behalf of the owner.
@@barodrinksbeer7484 only the admins could change ranks, but i was on staff management (a team of srmods which was lead by an admin) so i would monitor the performance of moderators and trainees as well as mark their tests

I remember the video on the sigma client. I'm It was meant to be an april fool's joke iirc but I guess some people acturally beleived it. (I didnt. Heck his unban "hack" litterally required you to connect TO the server to press the unban button I thought it was obviously a joke)

Soulplexis not true, hacking in the societal term can easily allow you to unban yourself.
Not true, it's completely viable to ask a content creator to cease making content about a product (a server in this case) if the company believes the content is negatively affecting brand perception.

@@LiEnby mm maybe the server and its games could count as IP , videogame makers have the right to stop let's players from doing them (fire watch for exemple did) so a server doing the same wouldn't be too far fetched.
Even if they had no legal ground it's like when youtubers get copyrighted for fair use content, going to court is hella expensive even if you are right.

Man it's weird how little documentation there is for PvP videos in general from around this time, for example TapL deleted every video from his 2nd channel and I can't find them anywhere, it's something you really had to be there to experience

Sounds like a friend of mine named railgun but he’s more discreet he doesn’t really go on public but man he has all the alts in the world he makes and sells clients and things like that
I used to watch xTurtle, but there was only one video I remember. He pretended he was a mod or admin or some staff member on Mineplex using Labymod and would "Ban" people. Later, he did make a video how he did it though.

As if anarchy clients (exploit focussed) are the same as pvp clients
you're comparing apples to oranges. anarchy clients aren't made to bypass, whereas clients for servers like hypixel, mineplex, cc, etc. are specifically made to bypass anticheats. that's not necessary on anarchy servers, because they don't ban.

A lot of people don't realize that xTurtle is one of the biggest reasons Mineplex had a downfall. He always encouraged hacking on Mineplex and therefore made a large portion of hackers on Mineplex. With so many hackers the development for GWEN had to be quick, but with every update to gwen the clients would add something to bypass it. Players believed GWEN was super bad and the staff were bad because of the amount of cheaters. No, the amount of cheaters came from the absurd amount of attention xTurtle put on Mineplex.
People left MP for HP because of this. Mineplex never did anything legally about him, although they should have.

He didn't hack because he was bad at the game, he hacked because he actually enjoyed it. He probably should've worked something out with hypixel and UA-cam

It really is a shame what happened with his channel, and with Hypixel. (Seriously, biggest MC server decides to basically burn pocket money to sue a kid that can barely hire a lawyer to check the validity of the lawsuit. I have zero respect for that.)
All controversy aside, I found his content entertaining and informative regardless of how much clickbait there was. I was actually a mod when xTurtle was peaking, and getting to see things from the other side was awesome. There were times I learned of a new hack through his videos before seeing it in game, which helped a lot when identifying what I was dealing with or how to spot it from less obvious hackers. Plus, even though it was all hacking it was still exposure. It wouldn't surprise me if less than 30% of his viewers were actually hackers. No doubt he brought more hackers to servers, or inspired more people to hack (both of which are obviously true, and bad) but there was probably a similar number of non-hackers that have joined said servers as well. Especially when servers came out with new games, or holiday events.
The scam video thing is news to me considering I don't remember it at all, which saddens me to hear about. However, I do remember that he cared for the MC community a lot. Specifically when it came to scams (kind of ironic, yeah I know). There were multiple videos he made that discussed scam websites that would supposedly give you a free rank on your favorite server, but was just meant to steal your account. It spread awareness and got a lot of those taken down relatively soon afterwards.
Glad I found this video. It's brought back a lot of good memories from what I consider to be a better time.
This is the kind of channel where you can like the video before you even watch it keep up the good content

X-turtle can only be remembered with contempt and condemnation. When he was still around, I hated him with a passion for promoting the hack clients that were ruining minecraft servers.
