Yeah - I think this is the only time she uses it in a Live performance. (knowing Miyako - it must have been the one that she thought had the best 'Tone' for that song)
Love this song. It was the end of the concert “Heavy metal never dies”. I have this Blue-Ray and also purchased the Blue-Rays of the concerts “Daughters of the dawn” and “Five of a kind”; and also the DVD of their performance at Wacken Open Air, Germany, 2018, that’s included in the Electric Pentagram CD. Quiet expensive (including shipping to Mexico City) but really worth any penny (delivery service by Amazon Japan was excellent)
They didn't change their outfits it's just a coat they wear once in a while, or in the openings of their shows, both Miyako and Midori do have multiple guitars they love to play but always play their favorite ones. I totally love this so much many if not all of the so-called wolfpack have called me many names that they try to downsize me but it doesn't work, all because I defend these amazing ladies against ignorant reactors and tear them up with facts that hurt their pansy butts. I don't care who I offend if anyone is going to say crap about Lovebites that isn't so I used to seek and destroy but I have given in and no longer say crap if the so-called wolfpack allows the disrespect of these amazing women that's on them.
"Under the Red Sky" is a song about the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and created hell on earth. The jacket they are wearing seems to be worn when performing "Thunder Vengeance". In 2021, it was an encore song, so we continued playing "UNDER THE RED SKY" without taking off the jacket.
LOVEBITES - Under The Red Sky lyrics: Rupture of the Heavens Blinding rays piercing through on a killing spree Looming in the distance, come the thundering roars of calamity Eerie bitter silence, from the whirling black smoke and insanity Time has stopped and frozen Held my breath with the death of humanity If somewhere God really exists How would He take our shame and great disgrace? Sin in the sky It was that moment when I saw you smile A suffering I will never forget At the edge of this grey world Holding you tight Searching for a glimpse of hope that we can still believe in SOLO: midori / miyako Pounded by the black rain, while the world is engulfed in a bloody sea Stolen in a moment; everything, everyone lost to history If somewhere God really exists How would He take our shame and great disgrace? Sin in the sky It was that moment when I saw you smile A suffering I will never forget But again I will find you And take your hand Cause I know, together we are stronger than this nightmare Sin in the sky It was that moment when I saw you smile A suffering I will never forget At the edge of this grey world Holding you tight Searching for a glimpse of hope that we can still believe in Sin in the sky It was that moment when I saw you smile A suffering I will never forget But again I will find you And take your hand Cause I know, together we will find a way to overcome SOLO: both / midori ----- lyrics: asami music: Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) from Battle Against Damnation 2018
I've never heard what's the meaning behind jackets, if any. They wore them at the beginning of the "Five of a Kind" concert from 2020 and are wearing them in the imagery from the "Electric Pentagram" album. "Under the Red Sky" is about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, but it's more about the aftermath and is the sequel to "The Apocalypse." I've always had a fascination with the atomic bombing due to growing up near Wright Patterson Air Force Base, the museum of which houses Bockscar, the plane that dropped the bomb over Nagasaki. It's kind of eerie seeing that plane, especially since there's a replica of the bomb next to it. Also, when I was in high school, I met the Col. Tibbets, pilot of the Enola Gay, the plane that dropped the bomb over Hiroshima. My history professor knew him and asked him to come in one day during my freshman year and talk about his involvement in World War II. Thanks for coming back to LOVEBITES and experiencing this great song. I love Midori's slide work in this one, and Asami nails the vocals.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the jackets were a 'surprise' they were handed unexpectedly just before they went on stage - and they weren't all that happy about it at the time.
I just love this band. But you should see the video to the end you missed the presentation of each member and theres goodbye. Welcome to Fami. Lovebites forever Love from Denmark
@@georges9326 You are not wrong, Under the Red Sky is composed by Mao and Above the Black Sea by Miyako, but the guitar parts are written by Miyako and together these songs are a tribute to Rachmaninov! 🤘
This is part of a trilogy of songs about the last days of WWII. Not many artists would dare take on a topic like the atomic bombings. Landmark feature of this song is Midori's non-stop shred lead during the verses. Miyako did something similar in "The Crusade". This band is like opening a package wrapped in ribbons and finding a sledgehammer.
Bro HG, in my opinion this is one of the songs that defines the end product of heavy metal inspired, intellectual musicians without boundaries. As much as we see them impeccable on stage, but what is intriguing is what goes in their heads to conceive and compose and produce an output that is not defined by the local arena. The gallop is spiced with prog transitions to seemingly R&B, Jazz and fusion expressions during the chorus, a domain residing in Asami's pocket. By virtue that Lovebites have no core metal rock musicians but instead makes their sound heavy is the paradox creating an out of the box heavy metal group. True enough as what you indicated previously, Haruna is special: while being a hard hitter, yet she is so versatile and fluid with those jazz fusion strokes and touches. Bro HG even that written non stop shred by MIdori is more towards the fusion jazz dynamics, reminiscent of Petrucci and sweeps of Frank Gambale. You know Bro Hg, I like to watch Paco De lucia, Vicente Amigo, and Antonio Rey and their entourage perform. I don't know Spanish, but I am in no way perturbed by how the vocals are executed, as no element of the performance is seriously compromised by perhaps some mis-pronounciations.. Like wise, Lovebites is a musical journey interspersed by well thought out lyrics, and for what Asami is worth as a lyricist vocalist, those issue of accents are mostly nit picky trivialization. How does that short sell the composition?😅😅
@@zainalabidinramli762 Always appreciate your commentary. Like Band-Maid, they bring such deep musical knowledge to what they do that it puts them on another level. I would love to hear Lovebites do a straight-up fusion album, with vocals. It would be a completely new concept and they would crush it.
Thanks for another Lovebites Reaction. There is a lot more to explore, and New music on the way since they added Fami as the new bassist. The last 1/4 of this song Midori plays what may be the Longest guitar solo in Metal History. I think it's time you got around to one of their true Masterpieces - Swan Song [+Chopin Intro], where you get to see Miyako 'shred' on Classical piano in the Intro to the song - ua-cam.com/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/v-deo.html
Love this song ❤❤❤❤
I feel like Under the Red Sky is very underrated, I think musically it might be one of the more impressive ones they have.
Agreed. I’m playing it a lot more recently.
It's my favorite Lovebites song. Along with "Dystopia Symphony".
Agree! The chorus is so memorable and lyrics so filled with emotion.
Yeah I agree, same goes for Don't bite the the dust which is a classic and awesome track 🎸🎹🎤🥁🎵🐺🇬🇧🤘
Miyako playing her Gibson Explorer! 🎸🔥

Plus the bombing to kill the civilians in several counties was really red too.
They actually started 2020 in the uniforms for Thunder Vengeance and took the jackets off before the 2nd song Holy War
Wolfpack is here for LOVEBITES! Welcome Fami!
LOVEBITES - Under The Red Sky lyrics:
Rupture of the Heavens
Blinding rays piercing through on a killing spree
Looming in the distance, come the thundering roars of calamity
Eerie bitter silence, from the whirling black smoke and insanity
Time has stopped and frozen
Held my breath with the death of humanity
If somewhere God really exists
How would He take our shame and great disgrace?
Sin in the sky
It was that moment when I saw you smile
A suffering I will never forget
At the edge of this grey world
Holding you tight
Searching for a glimpse of hope that we can still believe in
SOLO: midori / miyako
Pounded by the black rain, while the world is engulfed in a bloody sea
Stolen in a moment; everything, everyone lost to history
If somewhere God really exists
How would He take our shame and great disgrace?
Sin in the sky
It was that moment when I saw you smile
A suffering I will never forget
But again I will find you
And take your hand
Cause I know, together we are stronger than this nightmare
Sin in the sky
It was that moment when I saw you smile
A suffering I will never forget
At the edge of this grey world
Holding you tight
Searching for a glimpse of hope that we can still believe in
Sin in the sky
It was that moment when I saw you smile
A suffering I will never forget
But again I will find you
And take your hand
Cause I know, together we will find a way to overcome

Awesome song! The buried guitar work is brilliant.
That is so true thanks for enjoying the content.
Midori shredding non-stop over the chorus. Epic.

What a great song! For most heavy metal bands this song would be their greatest, hit song... with Lovebites it barely qualify for "the best of"
