Try him with Ronan deck. Only on reveal i have in there is mold and Maximus. The funniest is mold on 2 then GM on 3 and they have a hand full of sentinels
GM is going to be a key card in combo-centric decks going forward 100%. He's a card in a 2/0 package that does something which previously only cards like Wong, Iron Lad, Absorbing man, and Odin could do: Enabling an on-reveal twice, which is stupid strong especially when combined with each other. Yes he does have a specific condition which can be countered with Cosmo, but that can also work against them as it opens space up for something like Wong. As long as GM stays 2 cost I can't see him being anything but a good card (in the right decks).
I agree Cozy - This is a high skill cap card. In general, the standard or casual play will have difficulty maximizing the potential of Grandmaster. But the competitive players will get the most benefit from a card like this.
I’d say 3 star competitive, 5 stars for flexibility and fun. He’s just not a must have like we all thought. We simply overhyped him and that’s not GMs fault we were just looking at the card wrong.

Hooray for getting the same series 5 (Living Tribunal) from my spotlights, and only getting 1000 tokens for it. 1000 tokens for a series 5 dupe is so dumb
I do agree though. At the very least it should be worth 25% of 6k tokens as the general math is that 4weeks/1month = 6k tokens in the old system and 4 spotlight keys in the new system. So opening a dupe should at least return 1500. Getting dupes in 2 weeks would come out to a series 4 card amount of tokens, which I think more people would be ok with.
So from all your games, the ones where you play Grandmaster you are going for the "content play", while you have a safer way to win, the other ones you just go for anything else that's not GM. I think this card has the problem of "there is always something better I could be doing than playing a flat 2/0"
Complete agree. He feels strong in a hybrid patriot list where the “you don’t want too many on reveals” problem is solved with high value cards like patriot, iron man. Turn 5 surfer into grandmaster felt good into a brood > abs man board, with t6 to alioth / doom. But I kept asking myself: what am I doing here besides simply generating points.
In my experience with this deck the storm combo with GM is too good. Into BP into Zola is unbeatable. If you can’t get that combo, the deck wins itself as well. I’m at 7,700 SP currently at 4,000 rank.

@@Faltzerbeast90 yeah. Maybe with Magik and Sera. You drop him last turn in the same location as hit monkey and watch the monkey grow to like 23 power, solo carrying the mid.
I believe Grandmaster has taken Destroy archetype to the next level. You can use him on Carnage, Venom or even killmonger. Cards like dradpool, X23 and Wolverine also synergize with him as they don't have an on reveal of their own, thus playing grandmaster doesn't feel awkward at all. What I like to do is destroy cards like deadpool and Wolverine in either left or right lane, and then grandmaster on turn 3 (with carnage on board) or turn 4 (with venom on board) with Deadpool in middle lane.
@@NDW83 I am still cooking with it though, not sure if I really need the deathlok or not. I can consistently bring death to 0 cost by turn 5 with GM now, so I might switch it for a tech card like Negasonic or maybe Hulk buster to boost my deadpool even further.

@@NDW83I will be sure to check it out. I am considering to put Cosmo in my deck to protect it from shadow kings and Shang chis. I am not sure how or If it will work out though. One thing in my mind is to destroy x23 and Deadpool on turn 4, and then grandmaster, Cosmo and Deadpool on turn 5. I 'll see how it feels in curve playing it
For me destroy just feels like a perfect deck. It's really hard to replace a card in it. I guess it's pretty good to use Grandmaster on Venom or Carnage.
I struggled with GM at first in several different decks including this combo one. Finally tried GrandMaster Discard w/ Daken+Drac+Modok+Zola and loved it! Went 12-6 with +18 cubes
LOL So I think I just ran into the "Master of Combos" deck right now while I was watching this. I was all "oh that's new, GMing into a middle Stormed location..." then I looked up and yeah Cozy was showing the Master of Combos list! No wonder ive seen it a few times today!
I bought Ravona from the token shop and just tried this deck today. First game, they retreated and the second game was an 8 cuber. Reliable as always, Cozy.

Does anyone get a bug with GM interaction with Odin? Twice happened to me when Odin got GM-ed from side to mid, but Odin ability didn't trigger in the middle.
My first game with this deck my turn 3 jubilee pulled Zola, then the other 2 jubilees pulled ironheart and Odin, then white tiger. Then I ran out of space to play by turn 6 and had to retreat.
i want to try him in toxic. selene, hood, valkyrie, black widow and maybe even sentry as the targets. could be very fun (for me, not so much for the opponent)

It's only going to hit your On-reveal cards so as long as you're not stacking all of your on-reveals on one lane, you can reliably choose what you want to double up on. Or you could also use Wong on 4 then drop GM and a 3 cost on reveal like Iron Heart on 5 triggering her 3 times. Then you drop Odin to trigger GM to throw Odin to the middle and trigger Iron Heart and any other on reveals on 6.

Spotlight variants? No. At best it might come back in another spotlight week as that has happened before, but also most people hated when they did so we'll see if they do it again.
If it goes the same as other 2/0 on release that were GOOD (not broken) (aka Hit Monkey), he is going to go to 3/2 and make the card susceptible to the power creep in the meta.
My best play green gob middle magic on 4 and all cards played on left skip then on 5 suri ghost spider on left then galactus then grand Master. If u dont win on right with the buffed galactus u have a second attempt in mid when gm sends him only got it once after many tries
This is like when you hyped ravonna renslayer and i wasted my tokens on her then she was TRASH! They buffed her ALOT since then and even now i only play her in one deck only but atleast she is no longer unplayable

I was thinking about that as well but you’re already highly dependent on your tech cards being viable against your opponent’s deck and struggling to put power on the board. What card did you cut? The deck totally lacks power without Gladiator or Maximus. It probably has to be Mobius?
@ARTiLLERy31 I technically cut scarlet witch. It has a few tweaks but it's one of the old ones that runs the nova killmonger set. I'll see if I can remember all of it. Nova Grand master Shadow king Mysterio Maximus Bishop Hit monkey Mobius Killmonger Shang Enchantress Sera I don't have Gladiator. Mobuis does feel a little off but he has helped from time to time as you'd expect.
I think the biggest issue with GM is it simply plays points, and other decks do that better. When I first saw the card I was envisioning getting double Shang - but honestly I think there’s fair argument that in a lot of places Shang in place of GM+ Shang would be simpler and much better. Sure - it will have a surprise factor, especially after it’s not the new hotness that everyone is playing around. Time will tell if setting up these intricate board states is superior to playing a strong list 😊
Just finished an 11 hour stream of Marvel Snap, even playing a bunch of Grandmaster …you’d think I’d be tired of the game & him, but I’m very curious on your thoughts about the card, so here I am 😅
I would people not liking GM is good so his probability of getting nerfed is lower but then I look at a seasonal pass card in elsa being nerfed to the ground still worries me.
@@deliro8758 I have this literal deck. Surfer + GM is actually a nice play since Surfer decks either play Sera on 5 or need a good 2 drop to play along another 3 drop. Those who like playing Odin, like me, will use him for turn 6 meaning it's better for us to drop Surfer earlier like on T5. That said, playing Odin onto GM to go to middle wouldn't do a whole lot since you could just play Odin onto the middle lane. What Odin can do though is if you say played Magik on T3 for a turn 7, Wong right or left on T4, played Iron Heart or Forge or Nakia along with GM in the Wong lane on T5 double proccing their effect and throwing them over to the middle, Wave or a 3 drop + Surfer on 6 (Surfer on the Wong+GM lane), then Odin (+ another 3 drop if you played Wave) which should throw over both Surfer and Odin to the middle and proccing up a couple more times. Bonus points if you played Iron Heart (as Forge and Nakia won't help with that Odin play).
@@dennisting5249 Odin does not trigger when moved by GM, that's the biggest bug of the card. Also you can just play Odin in the middle if you just want the Surfer proc to repeat, no reason for extra steps with GM.
As soon as he dropped i opened 3 spotlight caches got Loki variant. Hit Monkey, and my second zabu. Now i gotta grund the whole week, and prob. Gonna spend gold on extra quest😢
@@joer7240 Pretty much this. I always keep 4 on hand for caches a month out then based on that decide if I need to keep hoarding or if I can manage to use one or two to gamble. Since feb cards I was planning on changed to be unfavorable for me (Super Giant being Series 5 now and Cull changes) I have some room to use a couple keys so I tried my luck on this week (didn't plan on it as I have the others and dont care for the variants) and managed to nab GM on the first key. Even if I didn't get him? Eh it was just 1 key out of my 5.
At this point and after seeing you rate this card almost a perfect 5 stars, I am convinced Marvel Snap SD is paying you to hype these cards, because GM isnt near as good as you claim to be…
You need to reach at least collector level 500,if i remember correctly,to see the caches,what you can open with a key,what you will unlock eventually in your collection leveling at every 150 levels. So,roughly one key/week if you are staying free to play.
I think grandmaster is getting abit over rated, it forces the opponent to only play one on reveal card in a lane to avoid triggering other effects, and slapping a cosmo in the middle lane is a hard counter to it
Yea but how many Cosmos did you see? Cuz I know as soon as I start playing him my games will be nothing but cosmo middle...Enchantress the Wong...Shang Chi the Panther...lol love the gameplay highlights tho

I believe Grand Master is bonkers with Destroy, you can reactivate your Venom and Carnage late game or even with Arnim Zola for spicy massive numbers.
My favorite variant in Snap.. bought with tokens & was ready to needlessly burn through keys, I got him in 1! Thank you RNG gods.

Am I missing something in that last game? It seems like Ironheart + GM had no chance of winning there and Odin was the only real option.
For me he kinda feels ok at best. He could go very busted in the future or forgotten about.

I played Odin on GM last turn so GM sent Odin middle, but he didn’t trigger any On Reveals that were middle.

Just finished an 11 hour stream of Marvel Snap, even playing a bunch of Grandmaster …you’d think I’d be tired of the game & him, but I’m very curious on your thoughts about the card, so here I am 😅

I would people not liking GM is good so his probability of getting nerfed is lower but then I look at a seasonal pass card in elsa being nerfed to the ground still worries me.

T5 Surfer & Grandmaster in same lane, T6 Odin on Grandmaster could be nasty :O
What would that accomplish? The Odin would activate GM and GM would do nothing.

@@deliro8758 I have this literal deck. Surfer + GM is actually a nice play since Surfer decks either play Sera on 5 or need a good 2 drop to play along another 3 drop. Those who like playing Odin, like me, will use him for turn 6 meaning it's better for us to drop Surfer earlier like on T5.
That said, playing Odin onto GM to go to middle wouldn't do a whole lot since you could just play Odin onto the middle lane.
What Odin can do though is if you say played Magik on T3 for a turn 7, Wong right or left on T4, played Iron Heart or Forge or Nakia along with GM in the Wong lane on T5 double proccing their effect and throwing them over to the middle, Wave or a 3 drop + Surfer on 6 (Surfer on the Wong+GM lane), then Odin (+ another 3 drop if you played Wave) which should throw over both Surfer and Odin to the middle and proccing up a couple more times. Bonus points if you played Iron Heart (as Forge and Nakia won't help with that Odin play).
@@dennisting5249 Odin does not trigger when moved by GM, that's the biggest bug of the card. Also you can just play Odin in the middle if you just want the Surfer proc to repeat, no reason for extra steps with GM.

As soon as he dropped i opened 3 spotlight caches got Loki variant. Hit Monkey, and my second zabu. Now i gotta grund the whole week, and prob. Gonna spend gold on extra quest😢
I never open without 4 keys anymore. My luck is way too terrible to risk it.

@@joer7240 Pretty much this. I always keep 4 on hand for caches a month out then based on that decide if I need to keep hoarding or if I can manage to use one or two to gamble.
Since feb cards I was planning on changed to be unfavorable for me (Super Giant being Series 5 now and Cull changes) I have some room to use a couple keys so I tried my luck on this week (didn't plan on it as I have the others and dont care for the variants) and managed to nab GM on the first key. Even if I didn't get him? Eh it was just 1 key out of my 5.

At this point and after seeing you rate this card almost a perfect 5 stars, I am convinced Marvel Snap SD is paying you to hype these cards, because GM isnt near as good as you claim to be…

I just started playing this game like 2-3 days ago. What do you have to do/grind/buy to get grand master???
You need to reach at least collector level 500,if i remember correctly,to see the caches,what you can open with a key,what you will unlock eventually in your collection leveling at every 150 levels. So,roughly one key/week if you are staying free to play.
You have a very long grind ahead of you. Maybe 18 months before you can get GM

I think grandmaster is getting abit over rated, it forces the opponent to only play one on reveal card in a lane to avoid triggering other effects, and slapping a cosmo in the middle lane is a hard counter to it
Yea but how many Cosmos did you see? Cuz I know as soon as I start playing him my games will be nothing but cosmo middle...Enchantress the Wong...Shang Chi the Panther...lol love the gameplay highlights tho
