Among the horrors and heroism of World War II, there were also some downright bizarre weapons. It seems that’s just what happens when the economies and imaginations of the world powers are forced to focus solely on creating offensive arsenals.
Indeed, some of the examples are pretty mind-boggling. There was the Nazi Sun Gun, which was a deadly serious plan to place a mirror in space to focus the light of the Sun and use it as a weapon. And there was the Krummlauf, which let soldiers fire around corners.

Wow I really enjoy learning all I can about the naxi's
Dragon man in Colorado Springs has one on display at his museum.
It's a total fantasy,
I’m seeing this and remembering a scene from “From Dusk till Dawn.” Where Tom Savini had a derringer pop out of his belt buckle.
Backyardmech1 same here haha
The sex machine!
That same belt can also be seen in the movie Desperado when the guitar case opens up suddenly.
Yea that damn thing backfires and you're dead. Ya get drunk and forget and get lucky and starts undoing your belt then oops their goes your night.
Lmao 😂
Lol they gonna used warm body logic :P

What's the point of having a small gun hidden in your belt when you've got a larger one in your trousers?
Edit: Does nobody get the joke? (meh)

I had one similar when I was a kid back in the 50s.it was a toy one made by Mattel. You would push you stomach out and the Derringer. Would pop out and shoot a plastic bullet. How do you think that would go over now.
So much for playing cops and robbers huh
@@marcaliventialiventi765 so much for playing at all. Parents hand em a phone or tablet and hope for the best.
I had that one too.
Yeah, it was a buckle that looked like a Derringer. In other words the gun would fold into the buckle itself. I remember those. They'd never stay shut properly tho'. Here. ----->

Ray Perkins imangine wearing jeans to school and you don’t have a belt do you use the toy belt and get suspended or not wear a belt
Back in those days it was easy for someone to be a double or triple agent in order to decisive the enemies, grab intel and leak it to the allies, all without being detected.
Now the US let's spies leave prison...
Thanks for making the intro 20 seconds long and also reading the title as well I had no idea what this video was going to be about
Anyone think the thumbnail looks like the "USS Enterprise?" Aye aye Comrade Kirk.
Daniel Schultz 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍🏼
Or a reasonable facsimile thereof....

Imagine dying to a belt ...
So interesting.thank you for the video
You don't tell us how it works or give any real detail about it's mechanics , seems like a good story these days is more important than actual facts and knowledge being passed on to younger generations.
Might as well watch it, then google it
A 60s James Bond-like device!
Damn! Not only do We have to worry about umbrellas or canes now I got to worry about getting pecked in the side by some guy with a gun in his belt at Walmart at 2 in the morning

Saw one of these at the then Enfield pattern room London back in 1970
Interesting part if history.
What else is out there that we didn't know about?
When she goes to take your belt off and presses the wrong button...
Came for the buckle, got an earful of bull...
Dragonman has one there really hard to get.
Roberta used it in the black lagoon anime.
I should rebrand this and name this the chastity belt
Anybody seen the picture of hitler shaking hands with an alien? That's probably where he got the technology to make such belts.
It would be really scary if I saw one the size of a cowboy buckle ....aka hub cap lol.

Its basically a semifunctional belt gun which shoots out the bottom.

Nazi sun gun? Nazi’s almost had the hammer of dawn 🤨
I would like to have this..
These people who developed these weapons are living in 2419
Goliath tanks werent supposed to go under other tanks. These were smaller tanks that were full of explossive materials . So you can call them a ticking bomb becouse in poland, polish people got a hold of one of these and blow up a wall in a church
I expected poison gas.
Oh shit. I am bucked...
It’s debatable if this is actually a real wermacht or SS issued item, very cool regardless
People are always saying Germans are dumb ... WWII tells me different
I actually thought of using the sun as a weapon a long time ago, with a different method. Didn’t know that nazi’s were trying the idea.
More like a cartoon villain's weapon.but could quickly turn grain, forest, villages and cities of the enemy into ashes.
Or trigger a greenhouse effect on a frozen planet. Or protect the earth from incoming objects. But it’s probably the better idea to use things like that on each other...
The problem is that in an alternative scenario where a more effective version of this belts was mass-produced, the knowledge about them would be widespread. So in a capture a prisoner-of-war situation, the american/russian soldier would adjust his behaviour accordingly. Perhaps even shoot the prisoner as a preemptive measure. So the irony is; the more widespread - the more self-defeating.
Lmao, why I'm I thinking of Sex Machine in Dust to Dawn.
When you're just working with pictures you found somewhere I guess it's hard to match your descriptions to the actual weapon. Too bad.
wher can i buy one
good luck youll never find one, people collect this stuff
Yeahhh... fuck that too expensive make you own

Deadly is a bit of an understatement😂 also the w in Waffen is pronounced as a v, its Vaffen
Videoclip are more better than image only!!
“Drive under American tanks” ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT?
"American"
They were actually designed to be demolition vehicles as they are very slow, great for bunkers and static defences no so much for Allied tanks rolling around at 40kph.

Yes. The germans were part of the axis and the U.S.A and britain ect were part of the allies.
Yes the small tracked vehicles existed and were remotely controlled by wire. They definitely were small enough to crawl under Allied armored vehicles. They functioned "moderately" well but they didn't turn the tide of battle.
@@flashedwards no, he thought "allied" as in Germanys allies

The Germans where very hard headed
There is a video about this in Forgotten Weapons .com
I want one 👍
I'd love to have one!
It's a gun
I don't believe for one minute that they were poorly made. The SS would not have put up with substandard manufacturing or design. If there's any one thing the Germans and austrians are well known for was intricate Machining. Some of the pictures in this video look like cheap reproductions bogus pieces that were made in somebody's garage.
You sound like a tf2 youtuber
Belt buckle, lol. Total fantasy from the 70s.
Yes really nice, but a lot of fakes. At 2:50 is the best one..
What if youre hone from war and tried to hug your wife and it shoots
