I love this song. I sing along in the car sometimes on the way home from work.
So Far Away was originally written by Synyster Gates as a tribute to his grandfather who had passed away. Jimmy was helping him write it. Then Jimmy passed away and Synyster changed the lyrics to also be a tribute to Jimmy. This song Victim was written for Jimmy. The tape full of messages line is because Jimmy's answering machine was full of messages. I'm not arguing about these songs but these are what the band had to say about these songs. Victim was about how they felt the day after Jimmy died
susan howard That is so cool that so many of you know so much . Like I said and continue to say in reactions , I do a small research on the song especially if it’s a long one like this just to know the vibe of it . But I did read somewhere exactly what you said . Thank you for stopping by 🙏✌️😇
@@balterlenn2001 I really like when the reactor does some research on the song before they react to it. I've been an A7X fan for over 10 years and have watched a lot of interviews so I know quite a lot about their songs. I think you would really like Buried Alive also from thr Nightmare album. I also would like to recommend The Stage (have to watch the video). If you really want to go on a musical journey the song Exist will take you on a great one. It's a long song but so worth it. Thanks for listening and have a great day. Keep up the great work.
That they can make songs 7 minutes that feels like 3-4, I think they got from Metallica. When they make long songs they have to make them dynamic, so they take you on a journey and makes it feel like 3 minutes. 🙂❤️
i've always used avenged sevenfold songs as a way to pass the time
i know it's kinda off topic but does anybody know of a good website to stream new series online?
@Miller Odin Flixportal xD
@Dalton Alessandro thank you, signed up and it seems to work =) I really appreciate it !
@Miller Odin Glad I could help :)
Also, that little squeal on the guitar right before the chorus is something called a harmonic. When you have your finger on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 12th (I think) frets and play the note but lightly tug the string and let go as it rings out, it makes a squeak called a pinch harmonic. What Synyster Gates usually does is hold the whammy bar to control it. He also has a pickup in his guitar called a Sustainiac that allows notes like that to be held as long as he wants. When you hear him play really loud, aggressive notes like that in other songs, those are called divebombs. It's all super fascinating as far as adding small nuances to a song, and those little details are what allow him to be as unique of a player and writer as he is.
One of my favorites from them. So incredibly underrated. Good stuff!
The whole album was written in remembrance of the REV. You can assume all the sad songs are directed towards Jimmy
Rev recorded all of the songs except So Far Away. So only So Far Away is about Rev…
@@eliskajanasova1487 so far away was also originally meant to be for syn's grandfather
That is exactly why he spelled it foREVer, for The Rev. Now, go back, and watch So Far Away, and pay attention to Syn's fretboard, and the bassist's guitar strap.
Not what the songs about. You are 100%wrong... can be taken that way. But this song is what it was meant to be.
@@mmddhh34 you are entirely wrong. It was originally being wrote for Syn's grandpa who had passed, but once Jimmy passed, the song was changed to be a tribute to The Rev. Which, in turn, is why the fret board and straps have "Rev" and "foREVer" on them.
If you want something in a similar mood to what you already heard you can check out I Won’t See You Tonight Part 1. If you want a change of pace, I think Save Me is one of their best songs.
Great videos, man.
michel666 I will add the first one you said to the list but yeah Save Me is the one I’m gonna do tomorrow 😇 Thanks fam ✌️
@@balterlenn2001 Save me could be their best song. Is a masterpiece!!!
@@balterlenn2001 be careful with songs from their first two albums. Hopeless Records, the label that owns Sounding the Seventh Trumpet and Waking the Fallen, tends to give pretty quick copyright claims on the songs from them. You shouldn't have problems with the other albums, but you might need to mute the audio on those or to do a review instead of a reaction.
Chris Meadows Even with these most of the songs are Claimed anyway but I don’t care unless it’s a strike . Some songs get claimed some don’t but my channel is not monetised yet and even if it was I will still react to songs that get claimed because I love it .
I respect the determination. It's going to be a great reaction. The songs that A7X fans love the most always get these early requests with good reason. I Won't See You Tonight Part 1 and Part 2 hit really deep. The songs are very open to interpretation for the listener, but for the band, they're about their 2nd bassist Justin, who they had to check into a mental rehabilitation facility before their 3rd bassist Dameon joined and left and their current bassist Johnny Christ joined.
Yea avenged sevenfold is known for long intros and they did have long ones in afterlife and nightmare
Check out M.I.A, Danger Line and the The Stage.
the lyrics like suicide note , and matt shadow say in live rio tht this song is finished 3 day before rev die , and the rev is the only band who writing this not like other song
Everyone has their opinion. I love this song and subconsciously assumed that it is about him, but with "Victim" everyone can identify in a difficult situation. In fact, the song, which is a tribute only to Jimmy and does not tell about the mourning after his death but about his short life and how he enjoyed it is "St. James". And 14 is a young age , I feel very sorry for you. I hope you're ok now.
I am okay now yeah , thank you for that . ✌️❤️
This record has so many good songs I overlooked this one for years. Just started listening to Victim a lot lately.
BRAZIL HEREEE! GREAT REACT DUDE! Love your energy!
Garai só queria legendado os vídeos dele 😪
Basically the whole city of evil Album makes for a great reaction
About the intro lengths, it's something that has more or less always been a part of who they are as a band. Not on every song, because they do have a great variety in song structures, but it's something they usually enjoy compositionally. Songs on City of Evil, Avenged Sevenfold, Nightmare, and The Stage in particular have long intros on most of the songs. Nightmare has a pretty long part played on a glockenspiel and then the main riff before the verse starts, and Afterlife has the short string section intro. It's a feature of their music that comes from a few of the bands they're influenced by to have longer intros. Metallica, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Guns N' Roses, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath, to name a few. Progressive rock and progressive metal are the general terms for music that takes that care to build the song up. These bands are other genres as well, but progressive rock or progressive metal depending on specific songs are pretty fair terms.
Good reaction
Hey Balterlenn this is one of my favorite songs but you got to delve into Waking the Fallen.alot of awesome songs on that album.the REV is all over that album.thanks

Exist has the longest intro🤣

Love the reaction dude! Can you please react to Silverstein- Massachusetts!
I doubt A7X had their drummer die, wrote an album for him and then made a song about Kurt Cobain lmao
None of that is about So Far Away. Its aboout Jimmy
I love your reactions and I don't care who it's about but if you find there self made video they would see it's for a soldier and his best friend thank you

Thanks for another amazing reaction!
Let's react to doing time a7x, it has a good switch up in pace, I think you'll really like it
Can you react to Deadly Dull by "Movements”
You think people who make lyric videos wiuld look uo the lyrics so they dont get them completely wrong.
React to a7x - all the things will end
Are you listening the album nightmare or is coincidence that you have only reacted to "Nightmare songs"?
It is a coincidence . I started with one and next songs were just song requests from the comments 😇✌️
@@balterlenn2001 Ok. For me nightmare is their second best album. As i told you in other comment, "Save me" is in their top 5 or top 3 of better songs.
React to M.I.A
Yeah that song rocks! 🤘
Please reaction alip ba ta from Indonesia
