Tbh, bots placing higher is also the fault of players. White let green stay big because it was sitting in your face, if we started keeping bots under control instead of using it to smash the human players to actually punish players for botting then less would. But we don't because any good player can beat the bot
Yeahh.. it would be nice if bots had a ranking punishment and received the last placement
@KyltedGaming 100%, hopefully they fix it at some point but until then, if we could shift the community into actually handling the bot instead of letting it get out of hand but I guess it opens us up for the backstab

My opinion on the botting issue specifically for ranked is:
Not readying up: should drop your rank by about as much as finishing in the highest position that would lose you rank. In addition it should just turn the game into a 5 player game, not even putting a bot in. I think this is a happy middle ground between encouraging people to make sure they are there to ready up, while not over penalizing, and not potentially ruining the game for others.
Botting during the game: If you disconnect it should extend your current turn by ~120 seconds (maybe make this a setting like turn timer?), and if you don't re-connect by the end of your turn it should put you in the last available position and make it so you are unable to gain any rank so if you bot and one player has already been eliminated you would get 5th. Or if you bot in final 3, you take 3rd place but also cannot gain any rank, even if you otherwise would.
