Would you feel comfortable placing cushions out in the sun, and possibly exposure to rain? If we don't cover our set, and it rains, will it dry quick, or will sunbrella absorb the wetness?
I've had a 6 piece sectional with Sunbrella since the end of July 2021. I didn't have a cover for the sectional until September sometime. We get full Southern exposure in our backyard and no awnings. The only thing I had was an 11ft Cantilever Umbrella I would leave partially open to try to cover some of the cushions. At least 3 times it rained on the cushions and all I did was turned them sideways with the zipper down and open to let the water drain the next time the sun came out to let it dry. I packed away the cushions by 1st week of November into a canvas bag into my shed that has standard sealed doors like you would on a house, so no small insects or small animals get inside like they would my garage or shed doors not completely sealed. I want my almost 6 inch thick cushions to last more than 10 years or longer, so it's why I try during in season months plan to try to keep the outdoor sectional covered until I know I plan to be using the couch off and on all day. I can tell the material can handle bad weather, but if put through big rainstorms every week or so over the years, I'm sure it could lessen the longevity of our sectional. At age 67, I don't want to have to replace my cushions in 10 years when I might only have 3 to 5 years left until we sell the house. I think far ahead lol .
