mtga's algorithm is aids. I made a meta deck for historic for funsies and ran into constant meta decks.. I then did a homebrew of satoru and ran into nothing but jank. their system sketchy
Charlie got obsessed with Magic the same time I decided to sell 20 years of cards on TCGplayer and to see if I can keep an online store running. I'm a struggling single father. This has been encouraging to watch.
I have fond memories of destroying everyone with my black/white/blue, creatureless, exile deck. Everyone always ended with a hand full of "target creature" spells they couldn't use.
Man, it feels weird seeing Charlie get into MTG. Figured he'd stay to Yu-gi-oh, but then again, that's what I thought I'd stick with. And I don't blame him. Konami made it more confusing with all the extra bloat they added on.
I didnt even know charlie played arena! I just started back at the first of the month (hadnt played since crimson vow), and just made it to mythic in bo1. Literally, just made it there and decided to take a break and boom...charlie uploads this lol. Its a good day lol
I would say he isnt that great due to misplays however it doesnt really matter when playing more conserved due to them not knowing how to punish, or not adding punishing cards in the deck
18:44 The opponent should've blocked first and then return the creature back to hand before damage happens. Well they're most likely a new players since their deck is mostly uncommons and such.
I play this game everyday, mythic rank 1142 and I can honestly say the match making is so busted, as soon as you start playing with a great deck it matches you almost exclusively with people who are running the same deck so it’s just a coin flip who wins. Not to mention it will constantly do this like atleast every 2nd or 3rd game you play in ranked and unranked will be with a mirror deck it is so broken
New player, MTG is great straight up great. My first week I grasped the game and got a taste of cheese and high level play. Was able to build two decks completely on my own that I forgot the rank name buts it’s green and pretty high I think. Ive never felt more satisfied playing a card game knowing I made what I play and spent each loss tweaking it further till it became perfect (black/red). MTG is the shit. Also how do you beat White food/flood builds?
Sakashima of the thousand faces, satoru umezawa, and mask wood nexus is a great combo piece to ninjustu in our beloved spaghetti monster. Note: mask wood and sakashima isnt required to cheese emrakul however, it works great in ninjutsu decks
Interesting take. If charlie would have not blocked with sheoldred, he would have stolen that game. (among alot of other punts he made) You have wayyy more control over your games than "matchmaker sucks"

It's not matchmaker that sucks, it that the game literally decides who wins at the beginning and then manipulates card draws in both decks to get the out come it wants. yea sometimes the opponent runs out of steam with a perfect hand and you can still ekk out a win, but It takes less than 20 games to see the pattern. there's no way I draw 75% lands in the first 10 turns, especially when wotc says they rig they game to prevent just this.
Needed to draw someone a little better than that. My man it was Griselbrand!! You got seven life then you pay the seven draw seven cards and pray for some heat.
I think if your on a new account, theyll put you against other new accounts. a few of these opponents were hard to watch. one playing a flash commander and playing everything at sorcery speed was especially hard to watch. also that gix play hurt.

You will find out that arenas match making algorithm sucks ass and ruins the game. You get mirrior matches all the time no matter how unique you make ur deck 😢 sad cause i love arena but man i wish they changed the match making for standard
@NbNgMOD I'm like the king of off meta I don't net deck at all and when I played was always mythic rank. You're lieing or delusional if you think the match making doesn't do this. What ever theme your deck is the game will match you to a similar deck or against an unfavorable match up every time. If the meta is agro and you build to counter agro you will hardly play agro.. this is 💯% how it works
NOOOOOO! Arena sucks and is rigged and when you face a deck that has >200 cards in it you'll see why. The mana you pull isnt random its rigged. Arena is trash.

Some Arena mechanics are a bit too clunky compared to paper Magic
Also Historic Brawl is not exactly the best format to learn MTG

It's the way rewards work... People min / max using online guides so there is much less variety up there. No creativity or logic in there.
Don't play established meta decks and it will change the algorithm
