It's a very weird feeling not to work anymore when you've been working for years at the same place, whether for yourself or as an employee. I've had this experience three times in my life and for me they were more significant experiences than my high school or college graduations or any weddings I've ever attended. My grandparents had a store and when it closed after thirty-one years it was an absolutely surreal experience. I was there the day it opened in 1975 when I was a kid. When I quite a retail job after twenty years I had to pinch myself. I couldn't believe I didn't have to get up the next morning. I got up anyway and spent the day in a haze. Then, after five years of rideshare driving I quite because the pandemic made it too dangerous to work but I was going entire days without a ride request. I got the message. I started working from home, then did started to do delivery work for a construction company. I can't imagine ever working any job again for twenty years, never mind ten. The world is just too topsy-turvy.
Try watching you daily, today was Mother’s Day and my son called me from Germany, was so nice! Seen the photo of your store on outside.. still looks cool, i think that you will always find some more interesting vlogs on your channel , you have a good voice and a very creative talent that most of us don’t!!
It's sad to see business go out of business. I'm glad you left on your own terms. It sucks when a place like a restaurant you had your first date with your wife goes out of business, or a store where a memorable life event took place is now gone. I remember as a kid visiting America there was a 20/20 video on Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood. I walked into the adult section while my parents were buying a used copy of Terminator 2 on DVD. I was 7, it was around 2008. Now that place is gone. Oof.

They should have let you film the inside of the RV, i would have liked to have seen it. Sometimes they are nice inside, but some are torn up from filming, or if they had more than one. I sure miss her, she died in 2016 from cancer in less than five day's of finding out she had it. Getting older is a bummer when your parent's, grand parents, and aunt's and uncle's pass away. I lived right by the boardwalk in 1998. They had a great Mexican Burrito Spot that did a lot of business. I went to visit my mom in 2004 and it was gone. Amazing. One of my favorite Boardwalk People was the Yoga Dude. I went to his house a bunch of times for lectures. The first time he offered me food I was fasting. I told him I had fasted 45 days in The Redwood Forest of Santa Cruz, California.

I’m jealous STX , on 5/21/2024 I will celebrate 40 years as a certified mechanic. The first shop that I learned my trade would close up and we would go to Las Vegas for the SEMA show back in the 80s. Thanks for the great video, much Respect Sherwood. There’s a lot of hacks out there, it’s nice to see a shop with integrity,knowledge and honesty.
