I stood in awe as I gazed above in the crossing the time I was there. Isn't there a tale that a king of England would be taken there to lie and look up alone in the cathedral? And your music touches my heart dearly.
Beautifully and tenderly sung in a truly magnificent architectural setting. Ely Cathedral is an awe-inspiring religious structure, too often unknown to or overlooked by many.
Does anyone know who the second (I presume Sikh) guy singing countertenor is? He's my favorite voice in the Es ist ein Ros video (ua-cam.com/video/OAIro_A1CYw/v-deo.html) and I've been trying to learn who he is. He's not on the website or listed as a past member.
His first name is Gopal, can't remember his 2nd name. He was a tenor choral scholar in the choir of St John's college Cambridge. He now sings in a professional cathedral/Chapel choir in London now....can't remember which one. I saw him singing recently in the choir at the queen's platinum jubilee service
It sounds very nice, but either the UA-cam upload messed with the audio or the singers are just out of tune. Playing along with a tuned piano didn't sound great.
Pianos have thirds that beat awfully, hence they are out of tune with themselves. God also did not ordain a-440 as 'in tune'. Pitch varied throughout time and place and still does.
@TheSauce Group I think a better understanding and level of compassion is to be had by both here. Yes, Anne could have voiced her concern over the man's head covering differently, but "can't believe you don't know that" is not the correct response to someone's lack of knowledge and slightly rude.

This is a true spiritual elevation.
Absolutely beautiful
They are perfection. That baritone.. marry me, please *swoon*
hahahaha
Such a lovely contrast between the sweet baritone voice and the clear, pure countertenor. Yum.

I can't help, but I wanted them to show him more. He got the least amount of screen time.

Yeah baby yeah. That bass does look a lot like Austin Powers.

Gabriel S they might not sing at A=440. A capella tuning also tends to be more “pure” than equal tempered keyboard instruments.

They're not singing in equal temperament.
When you're singing without keyboard instruments or playing a string quartet, you are not bound by the intonation compromises of equal temperment.
Hat inside the church? Weird...
