Excellent teaching...it is joy to see women, men of all ages but especially older folks , find new adventure through playing this amazing game and connecting with others on this journey I call the 'third age' of new beginnings. Hope we all can keep playing pass 120yrs.
Great video. I have a partner who insists that I charge the net on every drop shot. Thank you for clarifying when to get up to the net and when to be more cautious on the drop shot.
Great video. I watched your Q&A video and you were asked a question on the third shot drop. You mentioned the different aspects and mechanics of hitting a successful drop. Like a compact swing, footwork etc. You make it look so effortless! If you could do a video on this it would be awesome!! Thank you.
I love your videos. I just started playing and feel so frustrated with playing. I tend to hit the ball high and out of the court. It's so bad the opposing team just stand still knowing its going to be out. I loose with my team because of that. Thank you for this video I really needed that. From Edmonton Alberta Canada
Whoever said “those who can, do...those who can’t, teach” was an IDIOT! You do both and well done in each. And with sweetness and light and down on our level. Looking forward to playing in another USAPA tournament in November, need all the help I can get. Will subscribe and watch every one of your excellent lessons. Thank You, young lady!
Great video! Thank you so much! I've been playing for 2 years and never missed a serve except for the last 2 months! It only happens when I play. It's affecting my game, and I feel so bad for my partner. I hope you have the solution, because I tried everything! Thank you!
Mervat Ameen lots of people go through it. So you are not alone. It will come back, try your best to keep swinging at that serve. Might be good to drill for a few days and take your mind off of your serve. Remember that you know how, your mind is just getting in the way at this time
I love tennis. But I constantly break strings (about every 2-3 times out). I do my own stringing, but it still costs time. Pickleball is nice as you don't have to worry about breaking strings.
Amazing video, thanks Simone and Chad, explanation was excellent however I'm not certain as to what was being explained about moving on the yellow caution light part.
Protecting your partner means not hitting shots that put them in a defensive position. The main ways you can protect your partner are by not speeding up the ball while hitting cross court, and by not driving the ball if it is below your knee.
Imo it depends on the direction it is coming to you. If it is coming to you cross court go back across. If it is coming to you down the line go back straight ahead.
jim rayburn not necessarily, it depends on a lot of things in my opinion. If the ball is below the net, meaning it is a very good drop I more likely to go crosscourt because I have more room for error. If the ball is above the net and I can attack it depends on my opponent’s positioning and sometimes on there strength
There is too much thinking and details in pickleball. In tennis, you just play without too much thinking. Plus, you never get that pure feeling of a good shot in pickleball like you do in tennis.
That's harsh. The video is focused on the 3rd shot drop. Points with a lot of dinking have probably been edited out. These points showed what Simone wanted to focus on and talk about.

I love that you use players to demonstrate strategy. it's exactly what I need to move to the next level. Keep these kind of videos coming!
Suzanne Millay thank you and I agree

Excellent third shot drop Strategy video. Love the "red light" concept.
Thanks 😊 Like the traffic light scenario as tips for when to advance to the NVZ

Simone... grateful you posted this video. The language you use and strategy explanation is supportive especially after the lesson we had today.
The fact that you are not part of the action actually helps to understand the instruction better.
I love the red/yellow/green light idea. Thanks!
Margo Malouf My husband came up with that! We teach together
What a dream!!! Love the video and the team participation. That is AWESOME!!
Positive Alessandra thank you
excellent video...more please
Great strategy video-keep 'em coming!!
BTW growing up in California, I learned that Yellow Light means :"Go like Hell" before it changes to Red

Thank you

The Jinks Life thank you
Awesome video!
Can you do a video about 3rd shot drive options?
When do I try it?
Where do I aim?
WorldChampInfinity will definitely do something with that as well! Thank you
Great Information !!!! Keep them coming Thank You
Team Shine Your Light thank you for following
Amazing video, thanks Simone and Chad, explanation was excellent however I'm not certain as to what was being explained about moving on the yellow caution light part.
It means that if the 3rd shot drop is marginal you should come part of the way up to the kitchen and then stop to hit a 5th shot into the kitchen.
@@MrJgoodwin7 Thanks Josh, that make prefect sense.
Jack Varuso Josh you are hired as my helper! Thank you
I hope that wasn't sarcasm. Sorry if you want to be the one to answer. If you were serious I'll take the job! How much does it pay? LOL!
Josh Goodwin no sarcasm. The bad news is the job is pro bono!
Great video! Keep them coming!!
Karma Gingrich absolutely
Coach Simone, do you still teach tennis? And what do you think of Anna Leigh going the pro tennis route?
Great video. You discuss "protecting your partner". - can you explain that more ??
Thanks.

Bill Smith Josh is definitely in the right track here! Often times players hit from low to high crosscourt when your opponent is sitting on it
Loved!
Just Like Jenyonce' I’m glad
Dang. I love way you talk!❤
Great video
john spinosa thank you
Very very nice 👍
When receiving a great 3rd/5th shot drop, do you always go cross court??
Imo it depends on the direction it is coming to you. If it is coming to you cross court go back across. If it is coming to you down the line go back straight ahead.

If the ball is above the net and I can attack it depends on my opponent’s positioning and sometimes on there strength
I've been told by many advanced players not to drop third shot to the person already at the net. What is your opinion about it?
Generally, you need to hit it where theey are not. So keep the deep person, deep and make them earn their spot at the net.
Thank you! :)
This channel is growing like hot cakes!
Richard's World Traveler I hope it does and people enjoy and benefit from it
Hi,Simone Can you translate Chinese language your all video .I like to play pickle ball very much. So my English very poor.Thank you so much.
There is too much thinking and details in pickleball. In tennis, you just play without too much thinking. Plus, you never get that pure feeling of a good shot in pickleball like you do in tennis.
if you can't dink, don't drop the 3rd. these ladies can't dink

@@markstrehlow3579 sometimes the truth is a harsh pill to swallow
How do you know they can’t dink? They looked pretty good to me.
Awesome video
