Good for him! He's well on his way, and seeing such results so quickly will be quite motivating. I love that they're giving him the tools to change his health and encouraging him along the way.

I watched the full programme on ch4 back in March to motivate me as I began Michael Mosley's Fast 800 diet. 3 months later I've lost 2 stone and my fatty liver score has reduced by nearly 30%. I never imagined Dr Mosley would no longer be here with us when I reached my target 😢 and I'm so grateful for his advice and expertise. A kind man who will be greatly missed ❤

What these shows never talk about is that the world in which many of us live, is (I would wager, by design) not meant to keep us healthy in the first place. They treat being fat as some fluke or failure of imagination, but it isn't!
    1) A collective culture of homecooking and the knowledge of food itself is dead.
    2) Schools don't provide healthy food or insist upon fitness.
    3) Deregulation and lower food standards contribute to what we eat being basically poison.
    4) Jobs are depressing and pointless and contribute to a sense of nihilism and pointlessness for which food is often the short-term pick-me-up.
    5) Those who are unemployed, have little else to do but eat cheap junk - if they can afford food at all.
    6) The worst food is cheapest. You literally have to be middle class to have any kind of varied, healthy diet with lots of fish, fruits and veg.
    7) Being fit and healthy has been comodified so that a) its become aspirational and thus exagerrated; setting unfair goals and b) makes unattractive ignorant people feel doomed to their bad health because the aesthetics of fitness and health is inherently exclusionary.
    8) There is no money to be made in nation of fit and healthy people. From junk foods, to medicines, to clothes or useless fitness products; its profitable if we're all fat.
Thats all I got for now... but isn't it enough?!

    • @DaveWraptastic

Do you know how expensive a nation of unhealthy people is? The NHS is crumbling and 1 major factor is people with preventable diseases costing society millions fix their joints, their bronchitis from smoking, their liver failure, their heart failure etc. etc. etc. There is a lot we can do to help people make the right food choices yes, but don't think for a minute that Boris Johnson, as horrible as he is, is happy with a nation full of fatties.

    • @satyasyasatyasya5746
      @satyasyasatyasya5746 2 роки тому +1

@@DaveWraptastic Um, actually Boris and the Tories in general, *are* happy with a nation of (among other things, especially poor) fatties because:
      *deep breath*
Tories are idealogically oppossed to public services so...
Tories make cuts to the NHS making it harder for it to function alongside...
what money there is going to corporations and service providers run by Tory 'friends' who charge far too much, in rather shameless profiteering then...
Tories do nothing to improve the quality of for eg. food, because its those junk food companies that donate to the Tory party as a result...
all social problems get worse putting even greater stress on the NHS etc causing an outcry...
which is answered by the Tories with further idealogical privitisation in a feedback-loop of sabotage and self-justification.
Its money-making from disaster. Rather like with C19.
This is textbook right-wing klepto-plutocratic politics 101. I can't be any clearer. If you don't agree that this is happening then you are not paying attention and I would urge you to do some serious homework.

What you are loosely refereeing to is called an obesogenic environment. In the 1st series or shall I say the series that inspired this series (The series order is complicated), Lose a stone in 21 days, did mentioned the obesogenic environment with the Researcher and gov SAGE advisor discussing about the Obesogenic environment.

Tai Chi Chuan is possibly the only martial art that can be specifically trained for health and or its martial practises. On my channel you will find two Tai Chi forms one is the Yongquan Health form specifically designed for those looking to practise Tai Chi for health. You will also for the Lam Short form innovated by Grandmaster Lam Kam Chuen which is a regular Short form that can be used for both martial and health purposes. There are also many other videos giving lots of information on Tai Chi and other arts as well as the Ba Duan Jin/ Pa Tuan Chin Eight silk Brocade exercises to help build and maintain health.

Practically all of Michael Mosley's videos have the comments turned off! I don't blame him, some of what he's been preaching is ridiculous! Fast 800? For revering T2D?... Completely unattainable long term. Long term hunger cessation is what is needed to maintain low/normal blood sugar. Low carb high fat does exactly that. I reversed T2D 4 years ago... No starvation no calorie counting and zero exercise!!!

    • @oliverjames3636

I feel like you’ve misread what Michael writes about. I also reversed type 2, 3 years ago. I did it using his book, which is pretty much semi-Keto and 800 caps for around 12 weeks, then a low carb Mediterranean diet.
