- Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide © 2010 | Exploring Andalucía, we experience the quintessence of Spanish culture. Starting up high, in Spain's whitewashed hill towns, we roll down to the coast to enjoy the windsurfing mecca of Tarifa. Then we catch a bit of Britain on the Rock of Gibraltar, and sail to Africa for a Moroccan finale in Tangier. #ricksteves #ricksteveseurope #spain

Senor Rick, on my over 10 years living in Morocco and Spain this is so nice to see, I crossed from Tanger to Gibraltar by plane, on a ferry to Algeciras, Morocco indeed is a fab country as is Spain. Gracias/Shugran.
+Tuula Westra welcome to tangier in anytime ☺
I will, later this year, thank you.
Tuula Westra yuuup

I always enjoy your videos, Mr. Steve. They make me feel as if I'm already there. The explanation and the nice guides and the way you picture it and finally putting them together. I salute you, and Thank you!
Fantastic, Rick Steve’s. That was so much fun!
Too bad you don't do more on Africa, loved the piece on Tangier.
Why africa?
@@marcusfigueroa8681 Because Africa is amazing! It's the most culturally rich, ethnically diverse continent on earth. It gave the world not only humanity, civilization and the music...Well, let's just say if it wasn't for Africa my little island of Cuba would not have blessed the world with salsa music. The blues, jazz, rock n roll, samba, bossa nova, reggae, hip hop, cumbia, bomba, pleina, Cha Cha Cha and so much more would never had been born without Mama Africa 🌍
It's called Rick Steves' Europe for a reason.
@@christine7684 Yes, but a "Rick Steve's Africa" would be fantastic! He's a great tour guide; he would do it justice as he does Europe. I live in Europe and I love Rick's programs. I'd watch anything he produces.
nope, trump was right africa mostly a SH. Egypt and a couple couturiers i would go, that's it.

Cultural diversity is one of the most beautiful gifts!
Very nice episodes!
The starting music is breathtaking.
Steve always manages to incorporate a few lookers into his vids -- someone serving a drink, someone turning away a vender, or someone wearing a pretty turquoise head scarf. Good work.
Wow excellent quality video on these Rick Steves vids.
I retraced some of my journeys. What a wonderful world region.
Spain 🇪🇦🇪🇦 is one of my personal favorite countries in Europe to both visit and live in someday coming from the Philippines.

This was reeeeealy great! Rick, you did it again! I had a lovely dinner in California while visiting Spain and Morocco! Cheers! (with a Margarita of course)
Morocco is a very friendly country to visit, the locals speak French, Arabic and Spanish in the north such as Tangier & chefchaouen the famous blue city. The Sahara desert 🏜 is a must visit place. Im surprised Rick didn't introduce Tarjin.
It was absolutely fantastic! Added to the bucket list:)

Bunhead Lady Melody You'll be welcome. But only wear the flamenca dress (that's how it's called, or in Spanish "traje de flamenca") in places where you can wear them of course xd. Like in a "feria", for example the feria of Seville, which is the biggest and most famous one, is in April.
Ariana M - Thank you, Ariana.
wow your guide scrubbed up a lot better than ours did lol ! he seems really nice
He should keep up his travels in the Maghreb. Would love to see a full episode on Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.

Unlike the other parts of Europe he has visited, this three regions have a very unique history.

Have travelled Andalusia, crossing by ferry, then arriving in ancient Moroccan culture is shockingly interesting, very poor but interesting experience
Tun-jee-ay!!
I've watching Rick Steve for years on television. I was hoping that he would mention why it's called the Rock of Gibraltar... (rhetorical)...
What's the music title at 5:20?
You are incorrect. You can see two continents in Turkey and I believe two seas as well
👍👏👏💗
It might be proper to pronounce Tangier as Tan-gee-air. I think so because in French class in high school.
Like every town in the world, there's a way to pronounce it in the local language and a way to pronounce it in every other language in the world. New York is Nueva York in some places and London is Londres in others.
Is there an episode of Rick teaching us how to survive the pick pockets in Spain big cities?
Possibly. But I'd imagine he'd put that in a separate troubleshooting video as pickpockets are in every big city in the world.
common sense nobody can teach it to you. even you have it or not. it looks your destiny to pick pocket you all over the world.
The truth is most Spaniards who came to the Philippines are from Andalucia, Basque Region, and Madrid. Greeks from Malta, as well as Italians from Sardinia, arrived with them; then French from Gibraltar and Camargue migrated to the Philippines too and the Portuguese settled in many provinces too. These people started to call themselves “FILIPINOS.”
0:48 not quite so - what about Istanbul?? two seas and two continents
