I never write comments, but so much about this video impressed me; the fact that at 120kg all up (86kg + Pap Moster 185), I've just ordered a S3 24m and really wanted to know that the dynamics and speed of the wing wouldn't be too compromised over the 22m, amazing comparison, just made for me😂 Then, the production is just next level, using the drone and one very skilled pilot, and the clear voice over just nailed it. I make videos for a living and I was impressed 👏🏼Well done and thank you🙏🏼
Great review. I'm probably leaning now towards the 22 m vice the 20 m based on what you said about not losing too much speed. I do mainly cross country and appreciate efficiency. Great review
This video just saved me from buying the Speedster3 this will probably be my forever wing but I want another 50 to 100 hours on my Spyder3 . Nice job A.J.
Excellent review. I especially appreciate that you were able to review multiple sizes and how they perform under different wing loading - I think that helps me in my decision between a 22 and 24, if I end up getting one. Thank you!
Thanks for the flight info, as for a new pilot would you recommend the mojo first to gain experience, or we could jump on the Siroco 3 with out any problem. Thanks sean
Thanks AJ and Reese for the video! Im on the list to demo the 20m Sirocco 3 and can't wait! Im on a 22m Sirocco 2 right now, so this review was really relevant for me! You mentioned that speed and efficiency were much improved over the 2, but what about agility? I'm at about 95% wing loading currently, and find the Sirocco 2 is a very nice balance of speed, efficiency and agility, so I'm excited to experience how much of an improvement the 3 offers. One thing I will say about the Sirocco 2, is that trimmed out, I hit about 35mph - and with bar, I hit around 40-42mph. It'll be interesting to see how much more speed the bar adds to the 3. Thanks for the review! Oh - is it true that Ozone wings no longer come with the EZ bag??
They come with the ez bag. They are slightly different in a good way! I discuss how dynamic it is in the video, it’s definitely more reactive and “flickable” than the sirocco 2. It’s a great middle ground for handling between the spyder 3 and free ride, locked in and responsive, but allowing hands off flying.
Brilliant! The Scirroco 3 has priapism 😂😂 According to the manual, you can order the Scirocco 3 with either the normal brake setup, or, 2D steering enabled.
Thank you for the informative video! Question though… you mentioned that regardless of where you launch from, you’ll always choose the lighter weight fabric wing (sirocco over speedster). I live in Arizona and have only ever launched from dirt. Grass LZ’s are pretty hard to come by out here and so I’m very hesitant to buy a wing that has the light weight fabric. I want it to last as long as possible and I fear the sirocco will get beat up faster than a speedster. That’s why I bought a roadster over a spider. I’m probably looking at getting a 24 meter speedster 3 here in a couple of months. Other than the fabric, is there much of a difference between the sirocco and speedster? Just looking for a good durable ozone wing that’s efficient and great for XC. Thanks!
If you're ONLY flying from sand, I'd say go for the Speedster. It's handling won't be quite as easy, but you're right it should last longer. We haven't seen major issues with longevity of the lightweight fabrics throughout our customer base, but we primarily sell them to people who aren't flying off gravel or dirt.
@@Awkbots haha! Thanks for the info! I think I’ll stick with the non-cheat code fabric when I’m ready to purchase and get the Speedster 3. Thanks again for the great video!

I think it would have helped to take a wrap on landing. The flair was fine but trying to get the wing down behind me in zero wind was a bit of a challenge with my hands buried all the way down lol
Thanks I have the same problem with my spider3. It never wants to go down. I also run the factory settings on the brake lines and that's the main reason I think. If I remember I grab above the brake lines and it helps with authority but I still forget most of the time until after I land. I plan to add this in to practice when I fly I would just adjust the brakes but still getting over surgery and I like that my hands are lower without brake input. Thanks again this may be the next wing for me.
Are the brakes set "long" to accommodate the full trim range plus speed bar? Have you checked brake length while fully accelerated if so, how much slack could you take out?
Great to see a good review for the new Sirocco. It's really interesting to hear the difference between the sizes, but I can't help wondering about the decision to review 3 different sizes, where only one is within the certified weight-range. For most recreational pilots, I would think the decision is what wing to pick within the 50-100% wing loading. Any idea how it performs centered in the weight range, which Ozone recommends for best XC performance? I'm around 110kg / 240 lbs AUW and considered the 24 m2, but it does seem like a light wingload compared to what you test :)
Hey Dennis, I'm the same AUW as you and I ended up with a 20m Sirocco 3. I was initially thinking I'd get the 22m, but a 20m became available to me - and due to Ozone's lead times currently, I snatched it up. I have to say, I'm not disappointed! Compared to my old 22m Sirocco 2, the 20m Sirocco 3 seems way more efficient in the air, once you're flying. I do have to run a bit more (and faster) to get off the ground, but once up, I notice a 300-400rpm reduction to maintain cruise, compared to the Sirocco 2 22m. My climb rate was also surprisingly higher, even though I'm at 100% loading. The Sirocco 2 22 averaged 350-400fpm, whereas the 20m Sirocco 3 consistently does 500+fpm (I'm on a Nitro 200). The speed is just great on this wing - and much improved over the S2. Trimmed all the way out, I hit 40mph. Speedbar adds another 4-6mph. I can keep up with my friend who is on a 19m Freeride. Agility is also improved - and this thing just handles great - I'm not sure I'd really want much more, at least at my level. Overall, this wing is super well-balanced. It's not the fastest, most agile or most efficient wing out there - but it does all three of those things really well - which makes this a perfect wing for me. I'd call this a "Freeride Lite" :) Highly, highly recommended!
@@ryandinan Thank you very much for reaching out. It's interesting to see the numbers in comparison, the new Sirocco 3 seems to be significantly more efficient than the Sirocco 2. I'm flying with an Atom 80, so in my case efficiency does make a significant difference, as I normally have little climbrate to spare. I decided to get a Sirocco 3 in size 22 m2 and received it just recently. I've only flown it a few times, but really like it so far. With my Atom 80 I get roughly 1.8 m/s (350 fps) climbrate, which is not bad at all. Considering that's the same climbrate you had with the Sirocco 2 and a 200 CC engine, that's really impressive. Have you had a chance to test sinkrate with engine off/idling? I seem to get around -1.7 m/s (-330 fpm) with engine off, which is a bit higher than I expected. Not a big deal, just seems to have higher sinkrate than I actually expected.
@@dennisfrie4224 That's about the same sinkrate I observe too - but that's trimmed to one of the green lines. Im sure it would be a little better if trimmed all the way in. On a different topic, I'm considering moving my brakes to the adjustable pulley and off the bungee pulley, as that's how my Sirocco 2 was (I also have 2D tied in). I wanted to give it a try to see how I liked it and so far, I've gotten used to it, but I find it's a bit too high up, especially when trimmed out. I do like the extra feel it gives for the wing, but it also seems to delay brake responsiveness just a hair... I was curious what your initial thoughts were about it.
@@ryandinan Thanks, good to know sinkrate is as expected. Very few people seem to actually measure sink/climbrate, so often it's difficult to compare :). I still have my brakes in the default configuration, without 2D tied in. They are indeed quite different positioned from what I'm used to, but so far I'm also giving it a try. However, I do find that the brakes can be held in a perfectly comfortable position, as there's a lot of "slack" in the brake lines when not trimmed all the way out (even trimmed out, I think there's a large margin in the length of the brake-line). I will probably stick to the default configuration for now and consider changing, when I have some more time on the wing.
