You know, your kids are going to grow up thinking it's ordinary to build, plumb, wire, and finish your own house when it's actually not. You should make sure to tell them every day how awesome you are. ;)

Wooooo hooooo!!!!! I am so impressed I can't hardly stand it 😁 I need a Doug in my life. If you find one standing around send him my way 😉 I know how awesome a hot shower feels after just a few days with a water heater in disrepair. No one would blame you if you stay in there until the hot water runs out! Such a thrill to watch the progress and to see the pride you take in your work. As always... thank you for taking us on your journey 💛

Doug, my husband is very handy and knowledgeable like you are. The one thing is hates to do is plumbing. He has gotten much better over the years but it's been a struggle. Now, he can do plumbing without leaks. What you are doing is not easy. We have bought many fixer upper houses over the years, put blood, sweat and tears in them and sold them for a profit. Sometimes things go slowly, but they are done right. Great job to you and Ashley. Elaine from Florida.

I've only seen built in medicine cabinets in home decorating magazines. The extra special touches and wall and ceiling frame strengthenings are making this house much too well built for it to be called a "mobile home" anymore. I hope when you sell it, the real estate agent doesn't give it that tag. Because it deserves to be valued at much more.

I just want to comment about the insulation and how you said not to push it in, that the tabs should be flush and over lap. This is the way my grandfather taught me to put the insulation in his retirement home that was next to where I grew up on our farm. I helped him with a lot of the putting the electrical boxes on the studs and pulling wires also helped and handed him tools when he was working. I never understood why people would staple the tabs on the inside...it pushes the insulation in weird. I was 15 when I helped him with his home. (He was a Plummer by trade). I learned so much from him that I have carried throughout my life! I will be 70 in 6 weeks (12/05) and I can still fix a toilet and do minor repairs which has saved me over the years! I love watching each episode and look everyday for a new one! Your bathroom will be awesome. Hugs and love from the country girls on NE PA💕

Cool, made me laugh though, this last summer I installed a new well pump and whole house filter and when I turned on the water the damn house filter shot water out. Had to really hand tighten it and then had 2 little drip a minute leaks that drove me crazy so took them apart and no leaks. No matter what kind of plumbing you do there are going to be little set backs. I normally wrap teflon the same direction as fitting screws on. Also I teflon and pipe dope which seems to work too. But I really like the new system you are using. Do you guys have your own septic tank or on a town system?? Keep up the great work!!
