Well said. Although i do consider the majority of humanity to lack the ability to think critically. Think they did "their own research", while in reality they just watched 10.000 conspiracy videos that they NEVER really tried to debunk/verify/get a better understanding of. Might have helped if they realized that feeding such information to their subconscious on a regular basis will eventually add so much "suspicions" that eventually they think that; "This cant all just be coincidence", and so they start to accept that SOMETHING REALLY WEIRD is going on. Their more critical mind still dont really understand how anyone would be motivated to do such things, but "seeing is believing", and so they start reject their critical mind, which is NOT good for ones mental state. It's good that the misleading short clip was removed but the scary part is for a government official to jump to a conclusion without researching everything about it first. This is extremely bad and how terrible consequences can occur.
Except Zelensky is still spreading misinformation even though the video was edited. He tried to scare NATO countries that they will be next if Ukraine loses, which is an invented narrative. There is absolutely no chance Russia will invade a NATO country. He invents this narrative to scare NATO countries so he gets more aid.

The statements should always follow reflection. Without previous reflection they are worthless. We should permanently ask politicians to give up their twitter accounts.

@@ticiusarakan it’s easy. When you see a short clip of someone saying something you absolutely know he NEVER would say, you look for context. We’re a family of 4 generations of US war veterans so are pretty sensitive about someone saying Americans should come with boots on the ground. There is strong negative sentiment against such a thing in America, which President Zelenskyy knows quite well; so I couldn’t believe he’d actually said that. And he didn’t. The context was if Russians aren’t stopped in Ukraine, US (& other NATO troops) will be fighting them, with boots on the ground in the Baltic countries. Which we have a NATO obligation to do. The stakes in Ukraine are very high for all of us in the West, which is why there’s so much bipartisan support for Ukraine.

Luckily I had seen this in full context and knew what was coming. The sad reality is that this shows how easily social media these days can be used to propagandize/shape the opinion of certain people within our own country and shows that 19 seconds is about the attention span of many Americans in this day and age thanks to social media. This explains not just that but why we're going backwards intellectually, how easy it is for bad/foreign actors to shape opinions and sew division amongst us, and how dangerous we're becoming to ourselves for letting it happen. We're on the doorstep of a global conflict and half the country is not just oblivious of that simple fact, they're allowing their mind get hacked by the very enemy that we'll be at war with should that happen...

As a youth in high school we had to take reading comprehension tests, reading short stories then answering questions about what we read. I never did well with this, often not understanding the context. So I'm basically a dummy at this. But even I would not have misunderstood Zalenskyy's comment in context. So it is appalling to me that people in government and in the press could make this kind of 'mistake'
