That's not totally true, at least the price part. I'm not dropping >$100 on a game unless its literally Sword Art Online in the real world or the price BECOMES equivalent to current prices due to inflation.
Depends on the country. I don't remember which one (I thought it was India, but it might be something else) but the price of a single AAA game is like, a months worth of rent or even someone's entire salary over there, because the price is in USD and then it's translated into their currency and is way too expensive. And piracy in that country is how people get like 80% of their games.
The bigger advantage of Consoles its they should be expected to Run the games better than a Potato PC. Sure an PC han Run games at like 120fps if you build a super machine, but a Console should be able to Run anygame at decent framerate, even if its a Handheld it should run it with at least 30fps
Yuzu isn't even pirating. You have buy the game and the Switch. You take the SD card out of your Switch with the games on it and it reads those files on the PC. This is definitely Nintendo thinking buying isn't owning.
I have a collection of ps2 over 180 titles, but ps3-ps4. Yeah, they don't want you to own it. You have the right to rent it. If I am wasting my time and money I should have something to show for it when I share it with my kids

I think people fundamentally misunderstand what emulators are for and that’s why they still support Nintendo. They think you’re supposed to rip roms online and they emulators give you the roms. First emulation companies never give out pirated roms or files. Second emulators are for preservation, consoles have an end of life, CDs are terrible for long term preservation, PS3s are ticking time bombs and eventually we won’t be able to play those games anymore. The ability to take game data off of games you own and playing them on emulators ensures that no matter how far companies go with planned obsolescence we can still preserve these games for the newer generation.

Nintendo is insanely innovative with their console design. Their hardware doesn’t compete, but that’s never been a priority for them. Same story with the game cube which had like no loading screens, another great innovative controller, and banger games. The Wii was a huge success and has functioning motion detection, a great UI, etc. The switch was/is an incredibly well executed idea of a modern console despite its lackluster hardware and it’s still worth owning for the exclusive titles alone. This is just Nintendo. It’s nothing new, and they are still a hugely successful game company.
The crazy thing is they'd still get console sales, PS4 and 5 still sold cuz yoy just release it way earlier on console and then wait like a year to put it on PC. Some will wait and others will grab it immediately with the console. It's wild that they won't sacrifice some console sales to make better games sales long term

Also for stealing parts of the switch source code AND for trying to monetize the latest versions of the emulator . that is also the main reason an emulator or a fangame gets sued by Nintendo. You can absolutely emulate a console, they can't do anything about it but you have to do it on your own and without profiting off of it because that's illegal.

That’s not piracy, and it should be legal. But I understand that emulators make it possible to download games when you don’t own a copy of the game, leading to piracy.
I don’t think many people understand what else YuZu devs were doing since they also exchanged ROMs on discord, tried making their own NSO on Patreon and also put out patches on Patreon during the time TOTK got leaked which was indirectly encouraging piracy and that’s the reason why other emulators aren’t being sued
Well since none of us are Ninendo shareholders we simply care about the gaming experience and while I don’t condone nor practice piracy I do respect those that try to improve the game and make it better when the developers fail. @@Chr0n0s38 that's not NECESSARILY true. Architecture matters a lot more than power when it comes to emulating consoles. The Sega Saturn and PS2 took a long time to have solid emulation because they were such complicated systems. Not to mention by your logic, we should've had really good Xbox 360 and PS3 emulation a LONG time ago. Emulation isn't just a matter of "weak hardware is easy to emulate and beefy hardware is difficult to emulate". The real reason Switch is so easy to emulate is because it's architecture is very simple, it's very similar to Android's architecture which has been emulated for years now. In fact, Yuzu on Android (I'm not sure if this applies to other Switch emulators) had Native Code Execution, allowing a lot of the code to just run on Android because it's so similar
Building an emulator with your own code and monetizing it is perfectly legal, having a paywalled community that openly shares Nintendo's copyrighted material is not, that's why they got sued. All they had to do was not engage in piracy.
Objection!: People pirate Nintendo games on PC because they can, Nintendo games are not demanding (Seriously, GameCube games are like 1GB a piece) But I think the main reason people pirate games is because of current availability, because yeah, Nintendo doesn’t put them on PC and doesn’t bring them to Switch. Although if you’re willing to dish out $1000 or more for a PC, I don’t think getting a Nintendo Switch for $200-300 is the problem.
Comparing a switch game to a GameCube game is kinda facetious considering there's been 2 consoles and a jump in graphics and scope between now and then, so while yeah a GameCube game may be a gig a switch game can be about 10-40 depending on scope. Also not everyone drops thousands on a PC, I got my laptop for $250 at a pawn shop and that was my big purchase of the year, not everyone can afford to even go to GameStop to look at a switch let alone buy one
@@justwolf3937 I’m not trying to bash you, but I disagree with what you say. I do agree with GameCube being an odd comparison, I just emulated them myself because they’re small and easy on my pc. Although I wasn’t really comparing them, it was just, like the Nintendo thing a lot if people pirate, including myself. Nintendo is just easy to emulate usually. Although where I disagree with you is in the size of Switch games. If people are pirating a Nintendo Switch game, it’s gonna be a Nintendo-made game, not a multi-platform, and the absolute largest file size for a Nintendo game on Switch is 16.6GB for Fire Emblem Engage. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is only 6.7GB, Super Mario Odyssey is 5.7GB, Zelda Botw is 13.4GB, Super Mario Maker 2 is 2.8GB, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is 2.9GB. A game a lot of people would probably pirate due to availability is Super Mario 3D All-Stars is 4.9GB. All much larger than a GameCube game, but most not even entering your range. You exaggerated a bit, or you didn’t know, which is okay. Although, GameCube and Nintendo Switch are kinda just 1 and 1/2 generations apart, considering the Wii is a slightly buffed GameCube, the Wii U was the only real power jump, and the Switch is a Wii U buffed up a bit to-go. And I understand that not everyone has the money to throw at video games all the time, but any PC that inexpensive I don’t see gaming particularly well anyway. In order to game, you kinda have to throw a lot of money into it, it’s a hobby, unnecessary, but if you can afford a decent gaming PC at all, you can most certainly afford any of the consoles, including PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. I think it’s odd to pirate a conole that’s currently being supported, because slowly building up my library is fun, and many years down the line the games will be rarer, and you can play them or resell them to other collectors, which is something you can’t do if you pirate the entire generation. Older consoles that have been discontinued such as the GameCube, I support whole-heartedly your pirate-tendencies in terms of those games, they’re way too expensive in many cases, like more expensive than modern games. It’s just dumb. Although I think the reason I am this way is because I enjoy collecting games, the currently supported, the nostalgic, the legendary, and also the other ones to a lesser extent. It’s my hobby, and I spend my money responsibly to pick up a new game every now and then, and while it does spend a fair portion of my spending-money, I think that’s just the price of gaming. But man! $300 for Pokémon SoulSilver? THAT SUCKS! Pirate that all you want. But nothing beats being on a camping trip(one of my few other hobbies I do with my family) and whipping out my Nintendo Switch and playing Mario Kart, and to have the sibling next to me challenge me to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Video games are my childhood, and I carry them forward with me.
@@Lemur_OS you own one? Which game? Kind of depends on what you’re trying to play. If you’re trying to play something Nintendo or indie or old, it’s a solid choice for virtually everything except mainline Pokèmon. If you’re trying to play modern, demanding, third party games, that’s not what the Switch was made for, you’re better off playing demanding games on other hardware. It’s not a modern console in terms of power, largely because it’s a handheld, and that’s how it was designed. As evident by the price being lower than other market options, it isn’t being pushed to the max in terms of power-portably, that’s just the Nintendo Switch. Even so, weak isn’t necessarily bad, you have to look at it from all angles, not just whether it can or can’t run the best version of Hogwart’s Legacy(which I am salty about). That’s why I’ll not be playing that specific game on the Switch. Either PC or PS5, I’ll have to look into which of those platforms runs it better.
That is also a very good point. People pirate Playstation and Xbox games... but generally people who do that are also even-tempered enough to just shut the fuck up about it. Meanwhile Nintendo's active attempts to stifle access to their older libraries has made people so loud and nasty about it that they will proclaim to the heavens that it is ALWAYS morally correct to pirate Nintendo games with no prompting. And that's where _I_ will shut the fuck up about it.
Hell most Nintendo players are emulating older games. The Xbox and PlayStation people want to emulate all the newest stuff because they don't wanna pay $500 for a console
Copying and pasting from a discord chat about this: Should also be noted that Yuzu was legitimately in the wrong here too. Per their admissions in the court case: 1. They used stolen code 2. They locked early access to builds of the emulator behind Patreon (notable because some of these early builds were the first to be compatible with TOTK, which had not released at the time and caused a spike in Patreon donors, leading to direct evidence of profiting from piracy). 3. Some of the early access patches released to their Patreon supporters included bug fixes specifically targeting issues running the at-the-time unreleased TOTK, meaning they were actively aiding the piracy of the game despite claiming they didn't support illegal use of the emulator. Yuzu is wholly and undeniably in the wrong, and they shot themselves in the foot here. All they had to do was not have a Patreon and Nintendo never could have gone after them.
1. It's an emulator. Stolen code is almost entirely necessary at some point. Can't make a program that plays Switch games on pc unless it's doing the same shit as a proper Switch. 2. That's not evidence of directly profiting from piracy, as emulators are not piracy. Certainly, people pirated and they got paid by those pirates, but they themselves were not pirating nor causing it (officially). 3. That's not even related to piracy. That's just making sure their emulator works. They did it for other games and even for Citra. They focused on more popular games because they're more likely to be owned by the majority of people. Even if the Yuzu team admitted to these things, it's pretty obvious they only did so to try and prevent Nintendo from suing them harder.
I agree, I would be devastated if they took down something like dolphin but this is their latest generation console so it’s understandable because they can’t profit on a Wii game anymore but they definitely can with the switch. People need to understand that, if someone released a ps5 emulator and sony took it down everyone would understand but when Nintendo does it then it’s bad. He did have a valid point when it comes to performance though but like you said, they locked performance behind a paywall

They won't. It would be suicide for their console. All of their games could easily play on a cheap laptop. They'd lose so much money as Switch sales are huge for them. Nintendo being the Apple of gaming is their strategy and allowing their stuff to be played on other devices would kill that.

Except remember, the people behind this emulator were making people pay for some builds of it, and ripped TOTK before it was released, as well as using Switch code for their emulator. I'm all for emulation for older games or games you own, but it has to be free, and not make money off of the code other people worked on. @@aDog420from what I heard, its partly why they were slammed so hard by nintendo, apart from the patreon builds, distributing some of the code that people are supposed to rip off their own switch, and distributing some games a few times too apparently in their private server/forums. And being the same devs and website for citra, is why they also got nuked apart
I mean, no. They're not incompetent developers, TotK specifically is optimized exquisitely well, it's borderline too demanding for the Switch, and so it does funky stuff to its computer to make it even work. Anyway, the legal department suing people is not the team of creatives who made the game, nor is that team the ones responsible for the Switch's weak specs. They made the game, not the console. Anyway, the reason why most people pirated/emulated this game is because it leaked about a week before the official release, and it would save them $70 to play it illegally. Not because Yuzu runs it better. I know from firsthand experience that TotK on a powerful PC still ran quite poorly through Yuzu. Nintendo's problem is that over 1 million people downloaded TotK when it leaked and another 1 million downloads were attempted. How many of those people never bought the game because it was on emulator or a hacked Switch? Unlike emulating older, out-of-print games, where it's impossible to buy them directly from Nintendo anyway, this is a game that is very much still in the current ecosystem. It actually has substantially hurt the potential sales of this game. Corporate greed is bad but this video's thesis misses the mark a fair amount.

I really do not mind if people use emulyors to play Nintendo games, especially something as cool as Tears of the kingdom. But the behind the scenes that the people behind the yuzu emulator is very sketchy and well they brought it to themselves. Nintendo can be a big piece of crap in the whole legal stuff, but it was very cocky to say that they should be putting as much effort on suing into their games lol. Has this guy not seen how successful Nintendo and the switch have been despite the graphical struggle of the switch? One funny note, I like how he only showed one place that the frames struggle quite a lot, but is when using the arm’s ability. Without the arm ability activated, it lags less. Then that bias would also likely be reinforced by a comment section that constantly agrees with most of what you say. In short, it’s really hard to display a good argument in just 60 seconds which just results in creators telling people what they want to hear in quick bursts.
@cadenshields129 The comment section is really just an echo chamber. Anyone who disagrees gets attacked. Not to mention Nintendos bad rep with fan projects only fuels the delusion that pirating these games are okay
You can run to the kingdom nowadays on a pretty ruddy set up surprisingly. Ultimately yuzu is not responsible for the leak of tears of the kingdom. And tons of people are very willing to buy tears the kingdom, despite that it was leaked. Nintendo can make every excuse they want, they’re much better at whining instead of making a capable piece of hardware.
I agree. But a lot of times if i really enjoy a game ill buy it when i have the money to so i can support the devs. For me its a matter of i dont have a lot of money to spare for games and when piracy is so easy its just a no brainer.
Yeah, there were so many games I was glad I got to try this way, because they were nothing like I thought they were. Trailers and demos can be misleading. If I like it, I'll support the developers. What's better is when I'd try it and I liked it, then saw there was QoL or free DLCs coming out. It's hard to keep my money in my wallet when that happens. I generally prefer playing games in the way they're meant to be played.
Then why do you pirate steam games? Well because I uhhhh well you see if they put it on- if they- if developers just- well I DON’T KNOW ANYMORE I JUST WANTED A REASON TOO, OK?
Who's gonna tell him that his post completely misses the fact that piracy is best fought by making a quality product not attacking fans who are inconvenienced by bad design.
Who’s gonna tell him that a handheld device is going to obviously run a game at like 20 frames, cause it not a 3000 dollar gaming pc, it’s a 300 dollar handheld console💀💀💀
To be fair, Yuzu essentially leaked Tears of the Kingdom early which was the main reason they got noticed. Not to mention their patreon, which got them money for copyrighted software.
Multi plat would kill Nintendos quality. Think of this. Nintendo has never once released or launched a broken or buggy game and that is because they have ever only had to design their games around one piece of hardware and perfectly optimize it for it. If Nintendo ever releases games on another platform or on PC then the quality of those games is going to go extremely down And you’re going to see a lot more broken and bugging Nintendo games. Exclusivity is the reason Nintendo games are always so optimized and never buggy
I hate Nintendo, they're stingy and they're terrible as a company but if they released a game on PC these same people complaining at them for not releasing ANYTHING outside of their own hardware would be screaming from castles above bitching and whining like children because the games would run like utter shit.
think you should know that the reason yuzu is getting sued is not because they made an emulator, but because the devs decided they wanted to charge for the emulator which was previously free.
Sort of. They charged for an optimized version and sold guides specifically for getting ToTK to run before its release. If they'd just stated away from it they would have been fine
I think one of Nintendo's informative messages a while back basically stated they didn't mind emulator's, but with Yuzu stealing the data before the true release of the game, and attempting to steal other things and paywall it to themselves only, then shit got real bad for Yuzu
True, it will end support for emulators, but it will create support for cracked Nintendo games, which in the end I think is almost the same, even easier because an Emulator is not like cracked games, you generally need to do some things for them to work without issues
Rick Flare would "Woooooo" and Mordecai and Rigby would "Whooooooaaaa" to such a heat filled, and 100% accurate comment. JSRF, from the original Xbox, is the only Microsoft game I have ever pirated, since it has NEVER been reissued, ported, or remade! But sure, JSR from the Dreamcast must be revisited every few friggin years, not that it is a bad game, mind you, but JSRF is my favorite of the two! Ironically, I just ordered a copy of the Spiritual successor to JSR, "Bomb Rush Cyber Funk", like five hours ago, cheap on Amazon and brand new for around 27 bucks, free shipping! In terms of PlayStation however, I'll admit guilt to pirating free eats on PS1-PS3 legacy titles, on my home-brewed, hack-enabled consoles!

What got convienently left out here is the fact that they are suing Yuzu for essentially selling their emulator via Patreon, Yuzu's downfall is entirely their own fault
exactly. they had tears of the kingdom a week before its release and were bug fixing and so and so. the spike in patreon donors that week for enough evidence for nintendo
People suffer the most from being told what to believe about the games they play. I didn’t experience any issue with totk either and I have a v1 switch. And to be perfectly honest, anyone that tells you they can tell the difference between 60 gps and 40fps, is full of shit.
You gotta read more into the situation. Yuzu got their hands on a copy of TOTK a week before its release and put it on their emulator at the same time and locked it behind a paywall. So Nintendo suing them is pretty reasonable.
This is not true. Other bad actors got TOTK to work on Yuzu, the team at Yuzu did not have them behind a pay wall. They only released patches after the release date. You need to read more lol.
Fun fact: they are suing because they say yuzu distributes the two decription keys needed to run all the games, but, yuzu tells the final user to crop them from your switch, they don't provide it, it's nintendo providing the keys (or any other illegal site distributing them)
@@PlasmaP1 You...don't understand what words mean. Okay. First Party Developers are developers that work directly under the company that creates the consoles. This is what Nintendo is, as well as Retro Studios, Naughty Dog, etc. Second Party Developers are independent developers who take on contract work for the company and develop exclusively for their console. See: From Software with Demons Souls and Bloodborne, or Platinum Games with Bayonetta 2 & 3. Third Party Developers are independent Developers who license their games on one or more platforms without exclusivity. This is what Sega has turned into, as well as what most development teams are, such as Square Enix, Capcom, etc. Nintendo is not now, nor will they be a third party developer in the near future. The Switch is one of the best selling consoles of all time and can probably weather them through at least two Wii U-level disappointments.
Also the only reasons they have a market in the consoles is because you could only get them there, so that’s just shooting them selves in the foot (to clarify I don’t care about frames per second or graphics as long as it’s not laggy as hell)
"Not trying to pirate Xbox or Sony-" They are. They are trying to pirate Xbox and PS games. We HAVE Xenia, Xemu, PCSX Rearmed, PCSX2, RPCS3, and I think a PS4 emulator. Pirates are a force you cannot stop. (For clarification, I'm not saying emulators = piracy, just the fact that these exist so it IS possible)
they make this shorts with stupid and simplistic opinios so others will feel motivated to come to the comments and prove them wrong, they get the engagement and win. Everything he said in the short is wrong, TotK runs well on the switch, people pirate games from other consoles, people pirate games that are exclusively on PC too. Most people don't pirate for better performance, nintendo is a toys company, they sell ecosystems, they want you to buy the machine and the software for it, releasing games on steam will profoundly hurt their earnings. And for those defending Yuzu, they just gave Nintendo not only the code of the emulator, they gave all the information they have been mining from their users and their patreons too.
It would actually be really easy to stop or at least prevent a lost of people from doing it. It would just increase the number of amputee way too much for the worth.
The funniest part about this is the idea that Nintendo would stick around listening to fans explain why they’re not happy about something. The moment you started, they would’ve just walked away and found someone who was like “I LOVED ToTK!”
It really is an exaggeration. The console is portable so obviously you have to sacrifice power. The issue with yuzu is they profit off it with patreon and definitely support piracy. They just lost the case.

@@shotosurgery486wrong. The reason they get to sue yuzu is because the Nintendo switch uses layers of encryption which in order to emulate it, you must break. This is precisely why other emulators don't, and why snes or gba emulators aren't sued to death.
@@unxpected1136 ...yes that's my point, that's why saying "BUT PS5 GAMES DON'T GET PIRATED" is completely ridiculous, Switch games get pirated because it's a 10 year old chip

And then they bitch about emulation like it's not completely their fault.

Honestly, yeah. I'm usually on the side of Emulators because Nintendo is just terrible when it comes to releasing games to wider audience, but this one is entirely on Yuzu.
Yeah honestly people are acting as if Sony or Microsoft wouldn't have done the same if there was a series x or PS5 emulator out there. This would affect their pockets directly. There's a difference in emulating Pokemon Coliseum and Tears of the Kingdom.
Besides the last part all others are on nintendo. Emulation of nintendo games is so strong because all other options are 500% markup retro hardware, which is aging and slowly failing (and nintendo isnt making a cent off) And their current offering was a launch potato with phones and tablets being faster. With the one ting that would run ok, their older titles, NOT BEING OFFERED
Hard to say, in europe they may be wrongh. Emulation is completely legal there , as long as you own an original. Either way they go for dickmove after dickmove and eventually the nostalgia will wear off as people get older and they are left with nothing
The issue is they only have the problem because of their flaws. If they really cared about their profits and reception, then they'd consider what gamers are actually asking them to do which is either make their systems better or make them accessible on pc so they can be ran optimally (assuming the port ain't trash)
@@lacucaracha111111 It’s not about just emulation, it’s specifically related to TOTK. The game was leaked early, so Yuzu developed a patch to make the game run, as well as distributing said patches under a paywall. Developing a patch for TOTK means they pirated it, and paywalling the patch is directly profiting off another companies IP, which is absolutely illegal. There’s a reason Yuzu is only being sued now, not years ago. They had no grounds to sue until recently, so they took the chance.
Problem is that legally, Nintendo is in the right. The reason DS, Game Boy, 3DS and so on emulators are not sued is because they're emulating devices no longer in production and only sold by third party members who don't give the production companies any money. The switch however is still in production and sales regularly end in Nintendo getting money. (Note, I completely agree with everything he said. Just stating the legal ramifications and explanations for why Nintendo can and probably will get away with this)
Idk how you can agree with utter lies like this. Every other game is getting pirated, just to a lesser extent. Why? Because emulation of the other consoles is nigh impossible, for one. And because the games that release from other companies have many more security systems in place like DRMs. People emulate nintendo hardware because it's easy as fuck. Not because of the switch performance.
@miamesa8652 here's how. I actually pay attention to laws, do my own research and do digging. The main key factor in emulators of other consoles besides Nintendo stuff is the fact that a lot of their games are also on steam. Nintendo games are Nintendo only meaning they become completely lost outside of second hand. The Nintendo eshop got shut down on 3DS meaning can't buy digital versions either. Nintendo did this to themselves. With their games being lost to time without emulators.
As Gabe Newell once said "Piracy is an issue of service, not price."
yep, if I could get things like Pokemon on PC, I would
That's not totally true, at least the price part. I'm not dropping >$100 on a game unless its literally Sword Art Online in the real world or the price BECOMES equivalent to current prices due to inflation.
@@ArgzeroYTand I've never seen a game go for even close to 100
Depends on the country. I don't remember which one (I thought it was India, but it might be something else) but the price of a single AAA game is like, a months worth of rent or even someone's entire salary over there, because the price is in USD and then it's translated into their currency and is way too expensive.
Because ultimately it’s about the gamers having the experience they pay for and if the developers are incapable of doing that atleast some private devs can take a crack at it.
I would never defend a company's profits least of all Nintendo but yeah that's wrong. If they do stuff like that that's so far out of line, it jeopardizes emulation as a whole, it's rocking the boat. There needs to be a realization Nintendo is going after what they view are thieves, not covering for their inability to make next gen games or disallowing property rights or whatever. True, but pirating nintendo games is far more common. The point he’s trying to make is that games get pirated less when they’re brought to pc
But no one buys a xbox or playstation, because they are lesser versions of PC's. The Switch is the only console to offer more than just wattered down PC and the switch exklusiv games are a big part of that.

Objection!: People pirate Nintendo games on PC because they can, Nintendo games are not demanding
(Seriously, GameCube games are like 1GB a piece)
But I think the main reason people pirate games is because of current availability, because yeah, Nintendo doesn’t put them on PC and doesn’t bring them to Switch.

Copying and pasting from a discord chat about this: Should also be noted that Yuzu was legitimately in the wrong here too. Per their admissions in the court case:
1. They used stolen code
Yes finally someone looks at it like this, It sucks that they had to shut down both Yuzu AND the Citra emulator but their greed got to them sadly.
Even if the Yuzu team admitted to these things, it's pretty obvious they only did so to try and prevent Nintendo from suing them harder.
totk was still unreleased so jp laws and most country's laws count it as illegal iirc
I agree, I would be devastated if they took down something like dolphin but this is their latest generation console so it’s understandable because they can’t profit on a Wii game anymore but they definitely can with the switch.

Who’s gonna tell him that the legal department and game development department are completely separate areas of the company
Who's gonna tell him that his post completely misses the fact that piracy is best fought by making a quality product not attacking fans who are inconvenienced by bad design.
Whos gonna tell you that intercorporate traffdic and meeting exist?
Oh and CEOs do as well
Who’s gonna tell him that a handheld device is going to obviously run a game at like 20 frames, cause it not a 3000 dollar gaming pc, it’s a 300 dollar handheld console💀💀💀
Under one big wing called Nintendo btw. Just a thought
Yeah that legal department takes money to run, you know what also takes money to run the dev department.
I think how petty Nintendo is they’ll probably make their own steam for their own stuff

"Do you know why no one pirates Xbox or Playstation games?"
"Because they don't have any"
Rick Flare would "Woooooo" and Mordecai and Rigby would "Whooooooaaaa" to such a heat filled, and 100% accurate comment.

They'd be too busy sueing each other 😂

the team up is around the corner with Sora Kingdom Hearts joining Smash
A lot of pokemon toys have Disney tags because Disney owns some merchandise licensing. That's also how they partner with McDonald's for toys.
Copyright is different in Japan, where the head office and their patents come from. So even if they did everything you said they'd still have time to obliterate anyone who farts upwind from their ips
The reason is solely because Nintendo utilizes the gimmick of motion controls, not everything has that
Dualsense controller: am I a joke to you (since it has gyro which is the same as motion controls)
Bin the motion controls. They’ve been janky since the Wii. It’s time to move on. VR does the whole motion control gimmick way better. I don’t want to waggle a remote around. It’s not immersive.
People don’t pirate Sony and Xbox games because there is no emulation for the latest consoles…
no lol people mostly pirate things (you name it video games TV shows anime manga comics) because of the convenience of being able to do it on PC (or what they are looking for is inaccessible)
Nintendo is the only company that can give Disney a run for their money when it comes to keeping a tight grip on their ips.
Apple is up there, too.
When it's your IPs keeping your company alive.. you would too.

You need to read more lol.
how does that disk taste pal?

@@PlasmaP1?

They are.

Nintendo is only able to sue YUZU because of its monetization (you have to pay to access early release builds) and the fact they use copyrighted nintendo images to promote themselves on their website. I don't want to defend Nintendo or anything since they want the lawsuit precedent to kill modern emulation of their stuff, but the YUZU Team made some terrible decisions that make this a viable case.
@@shotosurgery486wrong. The reason they get to sue yuzu is because the Nintendo switch uses layers of encryption which in order to emulate it, you must break.
This is precisely why other emulators don't, and why snes or gba emulators aren't sued to death.
It's the internet people do this all the time
You do know that PC, PlayStation and Xbox games get pirated too? You are also able to flash the consoles to play priated games on them.

i hate nintendo, but Yuzu did everything they could to get sued
Honestly, yeah. I'm usually on the side of Emulators because Nintendo is just terrible when it comes to releasing games to wider audience, but this one is entirely on Yuzu.
Worse yet, they used stolen code.
Yeah honestly people are acting as if Sony or Microsoft wouldn't have done the same if there was a series x or PS5 emulator out there. This would affect their pockets directly. There's a difference in emulating Pokemon Coliseum and Tears of the Kingdom.
You are a bad person
Besides the last part all others are on nintendo.
Emulation of nintendo games is so strong because all other options are 500% markup retro hardware, which is aging and slowly failing (and nintendo isnt making a cent off)
And their current offering was a launch potato with phones and tablets being faster. With the one ting that would run ok, their older titles, NOT BEING OFFERED
I mean...... the argument isn't about what Nintendo is good at or not, it's about legality. Nintendo ain't wrong here about what they are arguing
"cuz they bring them to pc"
*Coughs in Bloodborne*
I would buy it, but it would feel wrong not playing Zelda on a Nintendo console
Problem is that legally, Nintendo is in the right. The reason DS, Game Boy, 3DS and so on emulators are not sued is because they're emulating devices no longer in production and only sold by third party members who don't give the production companies any money. The switch however is still in production and sales regularly end in Nintendo getting money. (Note, I completely agree with everything he said. Just stating the legal ramifications and explanations for why Nintendo can and probably will get away with this)
incorrect thats perfectly fine legally what got them was the patreon and the fact they had a guide on how to get prod keys to decrypt games and such
Idk how you can agree with utter lies like this.
