They are the same pencils. I checked each color I could find the same and they are the same, they feel the same. The difference is how sharp your pencil
Finally got my set of Sargent Arts! Like I needed any more pencils, right? But I really love 'em! I also got the large set of Feela's. What a pleasant surprise they were! Check them out!
I have heard nothing but great things about the Feela Pencils. I have had my eye on them forever. Sadly I'm on a Coloring supply Buying Ban at the moment 😌 😌 😌
@@DollarDiva99 Sorry a sista got put on lockdown! LOL! This blue-eyed soul brother feels your pain! You wanna hear something crazy? My loving wife surprised me with an early Christmas present when she got me the 120 set of Faber-Castel's a couple of weeks ago. I've only been adult coloring for 6 months so I was way over the moon! So what did I do just last week, but order the Feela Pencils! And the crazy thing is that I like the Feela soft core pencils waaaaaaay more than I do the $366.00 Polychromos! Say it ain't so, right? But child, I don't have the heart to tell her that all the beautiful pictures which she has been raving over were colored with the Feela Pencils!!! I know I need Jesus, but Amazon delivered the 150 set of Prismacolor pencils while she was out shopping yesterday and I have them hiding under the bed! I ordered them for me for Christmas, thinking that was going to be the only way I would ever get a nice set of pencils AND NOW I have both the large sets of Polychromos and Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I need a meeting! LOL!
My Farben are a bit scratchy and didn't blend as well as my other pencils. Post blending - surprisingly - I like the Dick Blicks more... but the DB's were VERY scratchy going down on the paper... overall - I still liked the overall feel and blending of my polys 1st (not a big surprise given their cost).. followed by everyone's go to... Prisma. Prismas are so cheap now - I'm not sure buying these off brands is really worth it (unless you need cheap oil based)... with all the support and color charts for Prismas out there.. and a tin of 72 for $25.... they have once again risen back up to the top of the heap for me! QC is still an issue.. but for $25 a box.. its a no brainer!
On the close up of the green-gray, it appeared the Sargent had a smoother line of texture. I would go with them for that and the bonus of the metallics. I use those a lot!
Way to go girl! You settled the watercolor question for me. I'll stick with my Hero watercolor (150 colors to choose from🎨). I just finished a page of flowers from Leila Duly's Florabunda book with the Hero WC. S.A. is off my wish list. If I need another box of SF I'll get them not SA.🎨👵Barb
I so needed this girl. I've been wondering so much on if these were indeed the same pencil, I have the sergeant ones I may one day get the sf ones once the price goes down again,....lol.
I have a theory. If they use different formulas in each pencil, if they are indeed made in the same warehouse, they are having contamination between pencil brands or something else weird is going on. I was looking close at the leads and getting pictures and comparing and my Castle Arts tip was shiny and the other two are matte (in mine) in several of the greens, I didn't look at all of them, but I will as I go forward, I couldn't believe my ears when you mentioned that lol, I thought I was alone in all those weird minute details. So glad I am not the only one. What you said about getting a few bad polycolors, makes me think the quality control on these can not be really good, as all three sets, C.A, S.F and S.A are all smooth on mine and you got some scratchy S.A's. I feel no difference in lay down between them yet. BUT I am only up to greens, So almost half done, I will post the color charts though when I am done. Very cool review.
Most of these off brand chinese pencils are made in one big factory and then further defined somewhere else. I think the cores must come from one factory... and they are then shipped off to other factories to further market. Or - the big factory just does it all for the various sub-companies..... all in all - I think it all comes from one source.
There are youtube videos out there that show the process... colors mixed with binders and extruded into long lead pieces... wood blanks that are routed and the leads dropped in and then sandwiched and glued then cut and planed to form the circle... then dunked into laquer to finish. Factory automation which is why it is cheap... better materials in German and Swiss made pencils so higher prices.. its an old one but here: ua-cam.com/video/Zsnw98aTWOM/v-deo.html
Can you please try the Arteza professional colored pencils next. They are $15.89 for 48 and $25.56 for 72 on Amazon. They have lightfast ratings, but not many full reviews on them. They resemble fabercastle by lookin at pictures and the names are printed boldly. One of the reviews i watched said that the light fast ratings arent true but another said yes. Im confused😂. So it will be nice if you tried them.
So these look like an okay deal ;-). Are they really the same as the Castle Art? It's funny how several of the reviews on Amazon say that the Sargent Art are watercolor - I don't think the company makes that claim it's just weird that several reviewers say they are. TFS :-)
I just love your videos Necee! I am so confused being new. Lol! Do I need to get these sets of pencils as well? Ok, I see I do need to get a blending pencil which one prisma or the Derwent? (sp?) I'm going to be calling you soon. 😃😍😁
Thanks for videos! Keep strong! Keep arting! is the Sargent watercolor? I think both of these sets r just reg pencils! I think macro Renoir, castle and etc are the same, from the same factory! The companies r just changing those lil bans on the outside pencils. Gold or silver! I like the Farben best! They r oil! I call company if not sure and really want to know! The price of the Farben keeps going up, I paid 23 US dollars now it's at 32 bucks! Marketing the hype! The Farben r a good alternative to the more expensive Farber castells! Thanks again :) Helena
First time viewer here! Even though you appeared somewhat disjointed, you were cute about it. So I guess after watching this I should go with the SF, because they appear larger and seem to be smoother on the laydown. Thanks for clearing up any confusion!
These Sargent Art Supreme pencils are not wax based, and wax pencils don’t feel scratchy.
They are the same pencils. I checked each color I could find the same and they are the same, they feel the same. The difference is how sharp your pencil
Which did you like better?
Schpirerr Farben Pencils
I love it when I think about purchasing a set of pencils and you have a tutorial on it thank you

I think Im going to try these, thanks!🎉

I have to wonder if these Sargent art pencils worth a try in 2021?
Good question! I need to pull them back out and test them out again.

Being me, I really wish I could follow the process from start to finish. So interesting.
