- Travis shows how to use the speed loader to load the magazine of the Crosman DPMS SBR, making it much easier to load and much more fun to shoot.
Another Airgun Essential from Airgun Depot!
Crosman DPMS SBR: www.airgundepo...
The speed loader that came with my DPMS SBR had a bb already stuck in the outlet hole. I pounded it back into the hopper with a #4 hex wrench and proceeded to ream the hole with the wrench. BINGO! The speed loader started working as designed.
There may be a slight manufacturing defect that could be easily addressed.
Same exact issue with mine when I got it today, thanks for the tip Vince.
Not gonna lie... This is more solid advice for me over the video
phwill1 where can I order a new one ?
Guti kush
You can get a new speed loader from Amazon ...for just $175.00. AND THEY THROW IN A FREE DPMS SBR . 😆
-> I saw a guy make a “speed loader” out of a plastic straw. Looks like it worked OK.
Try it out.
in my case it didn't work, maybe I do something wrong, but I even used small metal file to ream the hole:/ BBs are blocking all the time.
Thanks Vince. Had the jammed BB in mine and your fix now lets me use the copper BBs.
Thanks. Had problems with all brands except the Hornady Black Diamond. They work perfect and load easy. No jams.
My gun just stop firing Im using Croman Copperhead are those bad?
Daisy steel bbs work fine with mine
@@gagedawson9352 that’s what I wanted to know, if the Daisy bbs work with the loader and the gun Because I have bought daisy BBs and I’m wondering if I should take them back and get the Crossman copper bbs?
@@freddyjason3142 ive had my gun for about a year and it hasnt had a singe problem with the daisy bb's
@@gagedawson9352 Thanks appreciate the feedback
The mag follower does lock back.. you slide the follower down, then to the right and it goes into a little grove. Edit: on your close up, it doesn’t look like you have that slot..
Yes. It's just a pain to do without a tool. I use either a small screwdriver or an allen.
Speed loader wanted to hang at first. A couple shots of wd40 then the first one was hard to eject into my hand. After that just a shake or two and the loader worked flawlessly using Copperhead bb's. Went through 150 rounds easy peasy.
I truly agree with Martin with the use of a good quality silicone oil. I seen a video where someone used WD-40 which I would not recommend as yes it is a lubricant but also has solvent properties that will degrade seals faster. They make some pretty good high grade aerosol cans of silicone oil for airsoft guns I forget what brand. I just purchased my R1 but have been dealing with several air guns and currently own a WE-TECH m4 CQB V3 and silicone is the way to go. I don't know if older mags regarding the crosman DPMS did not have the notch to lock the spring-loaded follower in place but the one I have does. Without even looking at reviews I purchased Hornady black diamond BB's as that's all I would ever purchase, but I see in reviews they work flawlessly as other BB's have jams and whatnot. I had no issues at all using the speed loader with these BB's no need to even lubricate.
This gun is great, tons of fun and extremely good value for the money. Speed Loader is a little finicky though. Good tip on the BBS! Thanks
Add a drop of pellgun oil to the speed loader full of bbs and shake it. They should just glide out smoothly after
Where can I order a new speed loader
Quite helpful! The "locking" slide on the magazine for loading per the instructions was driving me nuts, it just doesn't do it and I thought I was just being stupid. Speed loader and tips are great!
Hold the mag w/ the follower track facing up..
Use a thumbnail to pull the silver follower lever downward..
*You'll see the hoke where the bb's have to go..
**Keep pulling the follower lever down Past That.
*There's actually an obvious rectangular cutout at the very bottom / right side..
Once the follower is pulled down to that cutout, it can then be slid over to the right - where it will lock into place and stay until you knock it back to the left and out of the groove
Just got mine about an hour ago, and figured it out. Works like a charm - as did the speedloader. 🤘🙂
My speed loader works great, I love it! If you hold it in the palm of your left hand ( or right) you can hold the finger tab with your thumb instead of your finger. Either way is fine! You will want to buy extra mags too........I Love the Dpms so much ( I own the Black one) that I'm going to buy the dark earth one too!......Enjoy!
Thank you for posting this video, it really helped!
You're welcome, thanks for your pointers on the quick loader!
get the qr reservoir magazine...it holds 300 rounds, you can load it in seconds without removing it from the gun....awesome
I shoot a little silicone spray in with a half loaded loader. then shake it all around .... works great for me !
Put a few drops of all-purpose silicone in the bb loader's reservoir partially filled. Then work that through. Loads way smoother..
That's a great tip! Thanks, we'll add that into the guide.
If you pull it all the way back there is a locker on the side of it to slide it into and it will stay open so you can load your bbs
It's just a pain to do without a tool though. I use a small screwdriver or an Allen.
Almost everybody are whining and complaining about this loader but in fact it's working great if you're not too dumb to understand the law of gravity.
- Have the gun charger facing down to let the BBs fall in line instead of trying to push em up.
- 4 or 5 little pushes works better than 2 long pushes, no shaking needed.
- When you want to lock the loader handle without making a mess, it wont spill any BBs on the floor if it is facing upward.
Be gentle and understand your physics...
Simple 😉
I'm getting the Hornady Black Diamond bbs. Getting rid of these Copperhead ones. They flat jam up the works.
I have 3 bbs stuck in the spring in the mag. I don’t know what to do. I can’t take them out :( ...can someone help me out please
Wow! I literally had that happen to me last night. I spent an hour trying to get those BBs out, only to destroy the spring and buy a new magazine for $49 15 mins ago. I'm not sure how they lodge under the spring, but it was three that would not dislodge. The magazine doesn't come apart so I'm not sure how you can remove them.
You can remove the tip that goes into mag, push lever and it’ll clear it out.
I just bought the gun and ordered a QR Reservoir magazine. The first thing that I am going to shoot is a crappy Chinese Ibanez acoustic guitar that I've had for years.Never really liked it, bought it because I had to do some acoustic stuff with a certain artist for a few months. I recently used the guitar and I realize that it's time for it to go. SHOOT 'EM UP!!!
shoot the strings and film the musical disaster
Ibanez makes crappy bass guitars as well.
If you really wanted to truly have the BEST fully auto BB rifle.. 2 things:
1. Make an upgrade that allows for a drum or magazine that is capable of emptying 300-500+ BB in one single clip / or drum
2. Make an upgrade that allows for a paint ball size CO2 tank of around 20oz.
With these two things, this BB gun would be the hell mary of all BB air rifles on the market.
The biggest benefit is the ability to shoot fully auto for significantly longer periods of time due to having a much larger magazine that holds way more than 25 BB's at a time, and not having to worry with changing out the mini CO2 cartridges after 100-125 shots. Another benefit, you will sell more BB's
I never had a problem using the speed loader from the first use. I often wondered why any one would have a problem using it.
If there have been a lot of complaints about the Speedloader, Crosman is negligent for not improving its design. I spent 1/2 hour on this and could not get it to work. I might try again when I don't have so much on my plate. But I never expected this much of a hassle, and if I had known how frustrating it would be, I probably would have purchased a different model altogether. I hope Crosman reads reviews from Travis; they could learn something...
just got one of these and i think it great fun, just shot it for the first time and tried using the speed loader (used umarex bbs) and the dam thing wouldnt work and now i know why after watching this video lol. so thank you for recommending bbs that actually work with the speed loader, if I didnt find this video the loader would have ended up in the bin lol
2 drops of Pellgunoil got mine working great with Daisy BBs. Of course, Copperhead BBs are good, too.
@@bubbasouth69 So the daisy BBs do work in the gun And with the loader?
Dude you slide the tension spring all the way down the body of the magazine. Then push to right of facing the spring. It should stay in place. Once loaded. You simply push it to the opposite side and up goes the spring.
I did exactly that. So my problem is, it only spent the one CO2, which is the left side “FIRST.” Yes I heard both gas HISSS as it pricks the CO2 12 gm. My B.B. loader doesn’t work either. After shooting a few rounds like 3 magazines, the obvious LOW CO2 sign tells me I’m low in CO2. REALLY? So I unscrew the FIRST one first and very little HISSS I indicating I’m out of CO2. Then I proceeded to remove the next one. HISSSSSED VERY LOUD AND VERY FULL OF CO2. It obviously did not spent that CO2. Why???? Defective magazine????
I am looking all over the web to find this exact speed loader. Does anyone have a a link to order?
you caught the bb's that sprayed into the palm of your hand when you pushed the pin hahahahaha
It does lock into place. when you push it down push it to the side and it locks into place
It was helpful thanks alit
What's wrong with Daisy BBs? They go excellent trough my AK1,no problems ...
My speed loader is horrible I think it’s because use the copperhead bbs so I think I’ll take ur advice and use the recommendation
Is there anywhere I can get another speed loader? My brother broke mine and I’m trying to look for another.
This one will work more or less, but it doesn't have the same tip as the Crosman.
www.airgundepot.com/umarex-universal-bb-speedloader.html
For a true replacement you'd need to contact Crosman directly.
melt straws shut on one end, fill them with bbs and pour in the mag, works 1,000 times better than this speed loader
Airgun Depot for
Very helpful. I bought the Crosman bbs with my Crosman AK1 rifle. Hope these work.
How about the Copperhead 6000 BBS? Would they jam in the speedloader? Thanks!
So what kind of BB do you recommend? I can't understand what you are saying when you mention the name of the last bb that you recommend.
donde puedo comprar un speedloader? ya tengo el rifle me falta eso
Thanks
To lock the magazine pull string all the way back and then push to the right
Thanks for sharing.
Cross man copperhead bbs good?
Yes
They keep jamming on me, but will be trying new option up top.
So the daisy BBs don’t work at all?
thanks very helpful
Move the spring loaded thing on the clip to the right in the notch to lock it i. Open position
If the daisy and marksman bbs have a tendency to get stuck in the speed loader, is it liable to jam the barrel too?
Do you think that if you drilled the blowback mechanism out a little it would increase the RPM ?
We'll leave that to the engineers out there!
1776adb
OR - 1776adb, YOU could purchase a DPMS SBR, drill out the blowback mechanism and see if the RPM increases.
Please share your results in this comment section.
Thanks.
Where can i buy a new speedloader?
It locks at the bottom, put the slide to the bottom and push it to the right
Should I use copper bbs or steel bbs
That's what I'm saying I have no clue and I'm getting mine tommrow
Tezzah use either one it don’t matter
Tezzah I use copper because that’s what I got
The copper is only a coating. Steel is the core.
How do you load with pellets instead?
Can anyone tell me where to find this specific speedloader? I can't find the speed loader for sale anywhere without buying the entire SBR
It does lock back
Can i use copper coated bbs with this gun?
The spring will lock back.
So the daisies Ones won’t work
Locking the follower is easy. Pull it all the way down and push to the side
Hey what kind of bb do it take?????
So if you get the speed loader it won’t work properly or feed no wonder one time I Bought IT WASENT FEEDING AT ALL
The manual specifically states that “this airgun was designed to function best with Crosman and Copperhead BBs.”
I only use Copperheads
Mine locks back with no problem.
Dont forget to put spray of silicone into the loader first. Or you'll get problem with this dead loader.. construction is good , but quality is very low
what kind do you reccomend
Where can i fimd one
Push the button all the way down and push in the grove it will lock
Do u need to use steel bbs???
what happens if you shoot palstic bb
Where can you buy the loader? Tab broke off. Mine. Pretty flimsy.
i have had the same problem and cant seem to find one any where
Push the follower to the side and it will lock
Can someone help me when the say co2 that means you can't manually pump air into it right? You have to get a canister?
yes, specifically the 12 gram canisters
no it's user error.......I have no problem whatsoever with it........all I use is Daisy bb's......
I have a bb stuck in the spring. Cant load it all the way back😕
I pried the bb out using 2 paper clips so hope isn't lost.
Same bro I have 3 bbs stuck in my spring right now and don’t know what to do
@@Nick-mb7ld can you help me out please I have 3 bbs stuck in the spring
@@illusion5347 Straighten 2 paper clips. Then put 2 ends of the paper clip under the bb and try to pry it out. Make sure the bb in the hole you reload into. It took me like 3 hours to take one out, and it's awfully frustrating.
@@Nick-mb7ld dang I tried that and still doesn’t work
I've been very disappointed with my rifle that I just received a few days ago. The spring BB follower gets stuck almost all the time near the last 1/2 inch of travel towards the bottom of magazine so I'm unable to have access to the loading port. I can't even press the plunger down with my thumb- it wont budge. The few times I was successful, the magazine fed poorly. Fire...BBs come out...then nothing but air...then a few more BBs come out- frustrating. To add insult to injury, the bolt rarely locks back like it should on the last shot, so I just end up wasting precious co2 gas. Just don't order through Amazon like I did. They don't take returns on co2 guns. Now I'm stuck with this turd. I contacted Crosman, but I'm not holding my breath. Too bad. I really wanted to like this.
Mine had bbs that slipped down into the coils of the spring.
@@ufogarage13 To Crosman's credit, they did send me out a new mag no questions asked. So far, It's been 100% reliable.
It just blows out all the air help
Where can I order a new one ??
A new what? If it's a magazine, Academy Sports sells them.
What gram size do you need
4.5 mm
If you see this clip there's a new mag works 👍
BB loaders that only works with a specific brand of BB? What a load of crap! Time for someone to design an aftermarket magazine that is gravity fed from a hopper and has an compressed air adapter for this gun to be fun to shoot. I am deeply disappointed with its performance....not the gun, but the magazine component. What’s the point of full auto when you have to reload one BB at a time. What a joke.
I think it's beyond poor work on crosmans part that this POS feeds only select BB's.. also, if someone hasn't seen this video (like me) and puts umarex bb's in it jams the feeder permanently 5 minutes after getting it was garbage. Mine has bb's stuck in that I can't get out, so the thing went into the garbage where it belongs. Poor, exceptionally poor, SHAMEFULLY poor work on Crosmans part especially since there is no mention of this or the speed loader at ALL in the paltry documentation. The gun is a ton of fun, but the speed loader can be chucked into the nearest wood chipper.
Then make one
I have this gun not impressed with it .an not the price i paid over 200 dollars .i can buy a real gun for less .an have .
Looks like a pain in the ass lol
Hahaha .... what bullshit .... just seen this and you calling the best BB's Hornady bla bla.. .... the ones you are using are Umarex/H&K BLACK .177 Steel Metal BB's .... another uninformative vid 🤣😂
I can't take advice from you guy you don't even know how to lock the follower back smdh
